@@penguin3540I felt that it was slightly like Greek prophecies, or the saying "One often meets their destiny on the way to avoid it". Anakin's fear is what got him. But also the environment he was in. Apart from Obi-Wan, there was no-one he felt he could have trusted or felt would have cared to help him. I think this led him to eventually even distrust Obi-Wan. In the scene where Mace Windu is about to strike down Palpatine, Anakin was afraid to lose his one chance to save his wife from her impending doom, so out of desperation and fear, he went to lengths he didn't have to go to, and crossed lines he didn't have to.

Now this selfishness was caused by the Jedi order but it was selfish nonetheless where anakin just couldn’t lose her and padme was horrified at what anakin had become. And because of that selfishness, anakin killed her.

No again, he was manipulated and not only after he lost his mom, he had nightmares of loosing his wife. After that, he felt hopeless and remained a murderous machine cause he had nothing else. The Jedi were gone, all he had, was his psychopath master, his pain, his hate. He didnt even know his children were alive, or Ashoka, until much later into his life as Darth Vader

Actually in Revan's case, you could consider it more of a choice if you're going by Kotor 2's definition. He got the fires of industry brewing again in the republic, replacing much of it's infrastructure in preparation for swtor's timeline so they were vastly in a better spot than they woulda been hundreds of years later. A civil war that was needed to clean out alot of Dogma and corruption.

I like to think that in Star Wars, George Lucas’ vision on palpatine was that he was the representation of evil rather than the main villain because in both trilogies (that’s right. BOTH AS IN TWO), he wasn’t exactly the main bad guy. He was the fuel to Anakins ego and hate which led him to the dark side. Then while Anakin/Vader was the main villain of the story, Palpatine himself really was the dark side (same thing with dooku and Maul being the “main bad guys”).

Grievous is a sad one from the perspective of Dooku because after the experiment to try make him force sensitive failed he was ordered to be disposed of(by Palpatine) but Dooku kept him alive and still trained him. Still am kinda confused on why dooku didn’t get rid of him. He didn’t really need him and it looked like Dooku was always disappointed in Grievous. Weird father-son relationship. 😢

Dooku’s story towards the dark side is more including the Jedi not listening to his friend Sifo diyas’ vision making a huge amount of people in a hospital die and more. Plus the Jedi becoming more servants of the republic than keepers of peace. And yoda’s incompetence to stop mass deaths leading him to leave the Jedi to be a count for his home planet and creating the cis which helped the outer rim planets more than the republic and in being against the republic, Palpatine warped his mind and twisted his view. Totj did a good job representing some of it but dooku killing hassle didn’t make much sense.
