There is a furrsuit type called a quad suit and it is exactly like it sounds. The suiter wears a helmet with the head attached on top and has a see through flap they use.

That is a good idea but unlike quad suiters disney characters have to stand outside for hours upon hours and being on all fours isn’t the most ideal position especially for your back and taking short breaks

Another big reason is marketing. Bolt got a costume to help promote the movie. No clue why they never did this with more popular characters like Simba, though. I’ve always wondered why they don’t make a copy of the Simba puppet from Festival of the Lion King and make a Simba meet and greet! That way he’s still on all fours but you only need one person to work the puppet.

Think about a quad fursuit, It would look much more realistic for the parks, but quad fursuits can cause permanent back problems, and are very uncomfortable too wear.

While for legged costumes that only have one person in them is a thing (EX: Quad Fursuits) those things are hard to walk in and in the Florida sun? I couldn’t imagine that. Someone would be not only hot but their back and legs would be hurting too. Them being on two legs might seem odd but it’s far more appealing to look at

not only that but as a fursuiter, quadsuits are SO HARD to walk in. they DESTROY your back and are awfully hard to perform in and would require training for the cast members. quadsuits also require a handler AT ALL TIMES since you’re basically just looking at the floor, and a handler for a character may be tricky since they have to be trained on how to take care of the performer too.

furry here! In the fursuit community, there are suits called “quadsuits”. They have one person on stilts in a costume, and they actually can look super cool. However, they are also SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE for long periods of time! It would be awful to have to work in one of those in Disneyland in many of the circumstances. You could probably get away with a float.

Fursuit makers like beastcub could make 4 legged costumes. Quad suits aren’t perfect looking, but depending on who is making it, they can look really good. The real issue is your back and neck because of how your body is forced to be to look normal for a four legged creature.

I grew up with Disney (not a fan anymore); and this is something i never really thought of. And I'm on the part of the autism spectrum that grants me creativity and an acute attention to detail. I guess I've always known those were people in costume; and never really thought about it.

Well technically Bolt isn't anthro. Sure he speaks, but that's for the audience's sake for the movie he's from. He still has the anatomy of a dog so he's moreso a personified dog. Also, furries are people with a fascination of anthro characters, not the anthro characters themselves.

I've seen a movie-accurate Scar fursuit that was just absolutely stunning to look at. I'm pretty sure it took the furry who made the suit MONTHS to get it to look just like the movie version of the character.

I guess if they wanted certain characters to walk on all fours for the perades they could use some version of quad-suits (look them up they look so cool) but for just walking around the parks I'd stick with two legs

Because- people aren’t made to walk on 4 feet, sure you could train to do it somewhat well, but humans are really only supposed to walk on their two feet.
