Stepehen A Smith says “Most people believe that he committed those mu.... ,” Smith said. “I know that if I was on the jury, he would’ve been under the [expletive] jail. I know that much. I believe he was guilty, but I don’t know. I’m talking about based on the evidence that was placed before us during the trial overseen by Judge Lance Ito. This is what we saw on national television, and by most accounts, you found yourself believing he was guilty as [expletive].”

OJ never said that phrase I’m not Black i’m OJ. Harry Edward’s made that statement. When he was trying to get OJ to join other Athletes in the 60’s to protest in justice. Dr Edward’s said he got the feeling that he was not Black he was OJ. That’s how that statement got placed on OJ but OJ never said that.

Whe someone pleads the fifth, you can't cherry pick questions that you will and won't answer. If you answer ANY question, you have then waived your right to plead the 5th. I'm not a fan of Furman. But once he plead the 5th, all the damning questions that were asked of him made great theater. So when you point out that he plead the fifth about planting evidence, it really doesn't mean what you think it means. Personally, since he had already testified, I would have preferred that he have to answer all questions and let the chips fall where they may.

That's good and we'll. But when have you ever seen a lead detective plead the 5th on a M... trial. And that same officer on tape talking about how he plants evedince on Black people and abusses them. Especially when he sees interracial couples. And that same officer ride around with blood in the trunk of his car for days before submitting it. 4 of the officers involved in this case went to prison for planting evidence later on after the O.J trial. So Mark Furman pleading the 5th holds more weight than you think.

@DarkBlackMagic I understand that it is significant. I'm guessing that you didn't watch the trial. The reason I'm asking is that some of your assertions are inaccurate. After Furman testified about the evidence he found for the prosecution, then the defense had an opportunity to cross-examine him. Unbeknownst to Furman and the prosecution, a would-be screen writer had contacted the defense and shared her audio tapes with them. They weren't about the O.J. case, and they weren't about any case in particular. They were supposed to be background for a screenplay. As many now know, they contained more n-words than a Richard Pryor set. He also rhapsodized about his feelings about black men and interracial relationships in very crude ways. It later came out that he had once had in interaction with the R and B star Vanity of Vanity 6 and Prince fame. He allegedly tried to pursue a relationship with her, go figure. The defense, knowing the first part, laid a bear trap for Furman by having F. Lee Bailey ask if he had ever used the n word in the last ten years. The arrogant Furman answered "no," like a petulant fool that didn't know that defense had already listened to the tapes and had read the transcripts of those tapes by the screenwriter as well. The defense probably toasted champagne upon getting those tapes. Furman was now on record, having told a provable lie. Within a few days, the tapes were leaked to the press, and it sounded like a delusional tough-guy with a strange racist grudge . There were so many audio cuts available that the judge limited the defense to just a few. But the damage was done. By the time Furman took the stand, he was going to take the 5th. Meaning he couldn't answer any substantive question other than do you plan to take the 5th. All that is to say that although it sounds like he is taking the 5th to planting evidence, he was pleading the 5th to all questions. They could have asked him if he was part of the Kennedy assassination, and he would've answered the same. No doubt, it looked and sounded horrible, but it was not a direct dodge to a specific question. It was a legal answer to ANY question. Hope that clears that up. Again, I didn't think he should've been aloud to plead the 5th. As the fellas like to say, "Put your name on it."
