This video was just so inspiring. Exactly, Engineers have to be creative, innovative, designing and then problem-solving people. And I'm glad it's becoming a field opened to everyone and it has no boundaries. The only issue with this major is basically Math, for someone like me who sees it as a tool to get your job done, rather than the enjoyment itself. And as many studies are based on each other in the early years, if you don't get some of the concepts, it could get really tough. I hope I'll find my way through it.

+Vylkeer if you were to ask an engineer how often they use math, they will laugh at you, there ARE programs that literally do it for you, you just need to understand the concepts, that's it...

Im doing electronic engineering. In short my experience so far is this. You will do a ton of maths, most of the lessons, that are not even called maths for example circuit theory will be maths, as its needed to calculate circuits. 2. We had to learn programming Java 1st year. C 2nd year, I found both hard. You will do labs (some circuit analysis\building) but mostly maths. You will do very little hands on using actual wires. So my summary is, unless you like or can handle a lot of maths and report writing this may not be a good course for you. Maths we have covered so far. Algebra, Trigonometry, Matrices, Vectors, Ratio Probability, Calculus I II Z transform, Fourier Transform, Laplace, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, not to mention Communications which is a spin of Calculus and Fourier with other variables thrown in and CORDIC, We also did VHDL logic, Kmaps etc everything logic really. Oh lastly this video is bollocks.IMO To get a job you could argue is even harder as they only want the engineers with really good grades, so unless you have a very good grade you might have trouble. This video is the equivalent to saying people have to eat and showing you 5 star restaurants in reality you will start at KFC. BUT compared to what most people have qualification wise, you will be an engineer. should you go for another sector, lastly its the most interesting, challenging that I have ever done and its gets a bit addictive. I don't have a social life though lol. best of luck =o)

If you have these, you can do amazing. If you are passionate about creating something and thinking out of the box in general, engineering is for you.

Hey man i really appreciate you making such informative videos. It has really helped me become more informed with the field of my study. I am motivated to get into the engineering major, mostly petroleum, but I was not a very productive student in high school, which resulted in poor-averagish grades.I have now become very motivated, and decided to attend my state community college to achieve better grades credential in order to transfer to a respectable university. My question is should I get my associate in science for engineering technology to build confidence and and grades before i enter a bachelor program or should i just do very well on my general for associate in science. I admit i am not very familiar with with the concept of college and I will deeply appreciate your help on which or what pathways I shall take.
@meshakvb6431
@meshakvb6431 10 жыл бұрын
One of the best routes you can take is to figure out which college you want to go to for engineering (It doesn't have to be a top college in the country either)... Then try to get a list of classes that you can take at the community college, which will transfer to their school, and help you to complete your degree. Talking to an adviser or two is always a great way to get started.

+Kevin Luna As an engineer, the majority of your courses will be more related to Physics than Biology. There are some Engineering degrees, like Biomedical Engineering, which rely heavily on Biology. However, the majority of engineering degrees rely on mainly on physics and the specialty of engineering that you choose will determine which science field you will focus on. A few examples: Chemical Engineering=Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering=Dynamic Physics/Material Sciences/ Physics of Heat Transfer, Electrical Engineering=Electrical Physics/Material Sciences...I think you get the point. Engineering has many different fields and each focus on a different science.
