For United, it is very simple: The United Pattern: - New manager comes in - Players perk up for a bit - Manager tries to change a bunch of things and gets some new players, but not al the ones he needs / bad choices made in transfers because club is so bad at negotiating (and manager doesn't know enough about squad) so a bunch of last minute decisions are made to scramble a squad together - Players get fed up and stop playing for the manager and blame it on the system the manager is trying to implement (because they only want to play to their strengths and they are used to getting what they want) - A new manager comes in They just have to stick to their usual pattern, and they will surely get the result they want.

IT's down to injuries... Most of the players you identify as key parts of playing the Ten Hag style are INJURED. Martinez, Shaw, Varane, Casemiro, were massive last season and now they are totally missing. Also pretending that this £400 million was spend on players he wanted is stupid. He wanted Kim Min Jae and got Johny Evans. He wanted a forward last season and got a Burnley reject on loan. That sums up the state of the club, the owners are not willing to invest properly when the club is for sale.

I'm a Man United fan and I think we're in this mess due to injuries, not the manager. I don't want him to be sacked but he will be. We have Fulham away this weekend and I think they will do us 1-0 or 2-1 and that loss will trigger Ten Hag's sacking. It's a shame because he did sort of prove himself last season getting us to 3rd, the Carabao Cup and getting us in the FA Cup final, which let's be honest - Man City were not at their best in that FA Cup final and if Man United had anything about them, they could have won it. Man City only just won the FA Cup and we had fended off all other teams to get to the final just as Man City had, along with us doing the same in the Carabao Cup and winning it. This season has been an absolute shambles but please FFS don't sack this guy... even if we do lose to Fulham don't sack Ten Hag yet. Not one single fan wants him sacked. We like him and we can see it's because of the injuries we have that's to blame for the bad results. All four of the 1st team defenders are out injured. Many have said this but remember when Liverpool had Van Dijk out injured? They really suffered because of it and that was one defender, we have the WHOLE defence out injured right now.

We’re still watching the same players fail. For example, Anthony Martial. As much as I know he COULD be the best centre forward in the world. He just won’t ever reach that potential. Somethings stopping him. We’ve not got players that are really positionally aware. So we need to play a counter attacking style. We’re not playing that way consistently. We want to be Man City or peak Barca. Well leverkusen and Brighton show that to play a certain way you need certain type of player.

Manchester United has no sporting director. So ALL of the recruitment related tasks of scouting, identifying talent, profiling players fall on one man, ETH. Along with club structure and team development. The board and owners only care about commercial success. Which is why United perform so terribly. But media and fans channels on social media will target and run smear campaigns against ETH instead of addressing the real issue.

It's pretty simple why he can't use his Ajax playstyle the back 4 and CDM are not good enough on the ball and they easily get pressed so it's less risky to play long balls and the utilise their press to get the ball back higher up

He is failing because he didn't prepare his team for the task ahead in this new season, the location and choice of preseason was wrong, especially after all tiredness do many games last season, this inconsistency started before the end of season. Another big issue is that ETH wants to offload some players at Man United eg Maguire, Martial etc etc those players staying in that same dressing room under a manager that wants to sell them is a disaster itself, that will create dysfunction within the team, ETH instead of offloading dead legs, the club could not shift those unwanted players out, instead the club now added buried legs like Johnny Evens to that team.

Until he starts to drop players that are not performing, and starts picking players that are hungry, including from the youth team, we will not improve. At Ajax he was the coach, and the Director of Football and the CEO managed recruitment. At United he has been given an unprecedented level of control for recruitment, and he has made a lot of mistakes, but he should not be sacked. However, the Director of Football and the whole football management set-up at Manchester United has to be made more professional, and the manager made to focus on just coaching the team.

No coach will succeed at United until changes are made behind the scenes and there is a total overhaul of the current patchwork squad in place.
