That ‘sh*tty conference’ was 9-7 against SEC since 2020. Big 12 has been a little more balanced lately than given credit.

A&M was mid level Big 12 and they are mid level in the SEC. Nothing changed for them.

This season will be interesting. While the SEC is obviously more talented than the remaining Mid12 members, Texas largely had struggles against teams completely changing their defensive/offensive approach for ONLY the Texas game. I don't expect SEC teams to do that because you can't look past teams on your schedule like OU was able to do when they kicked off the season with Ark St, SMU, Tulsa, and Cincinnati.

You talk about these 'mid' teams in the big12 and how vastly inferior they are to the SEC 'mid' teams. Let's look at some results over the past few years... I can’t believe I made it to the end of this clip. These three sitting together is nothing more than a lot of hot air and SEC glazing.. Texas knows it’s coming into the premier league and they know they will have to play their best. No rational Texas fan thinks they’re going to run through the SEC. However, I do believe Texas will compete for the SEC championship in year one. But that’s not even the focus. We want a playoff birth more than a conference championship. Both would be pretty nice though 🤘🏻

He's right! As a Texas fan I'm well aware SEC have never lost a game to another school outside the SEC. With exceptions to major blue bloods.

We've seen B12 teams come to the SEC and compete right away Missouri in Year 2 won the East and Texas has better talent and coaching. Pump the brakes on the SEC bias, Utah QB3 humbled UF and we all saw what New Mexico St did to Auburn. Stone Cold truth is NIL and Portal have depleted the SEC depth which gave them the advantage over other conferences. Just look at Alabama QB & WR depth in 2018 & 2019 compared to last year. The days of the SEC dominating are over, will they be relevant of course will they compete for Championships yes but the days of dominating are over. They were fortunate to get 1 team in the CFP last year thanks to a Travis broken leg. Just a little advice from a pro gambler who's been profitable for a decade.

Texas has struggled to maintain relevance since 1996 despite their massive resources and top-tier recruiting classes. Despite all their money, they've only managed one national championship in the past 30 years, proving that success can't simply be bought. Both Texas and Oklahoma have declined significantly from their former glory days. Interestingly, Texas never truly dominated the Southwest Conference; that honor belonged to Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Texas collectively. Even in the Big 12 era, Oklahoma has consistently outshone Texas. TCU has consistently outperformed Texas in their matchups. It's evident that the SEC is now accepting average football teams like Texas. Any Big 12 team could easily defeat the SEC West teams and most of the SeC East, as has been demonstrated before. Texas is indeed a vast state, and the Longhorns don't have a monopoly on it. Outside of Austin, the interest in Texas is minimal.

Texas plays one decent QB all-season. If Weigman can survive until November, maybe Texas plays two decent QBs all season. Texas is loaded and has all the advantages. You couldn’t manufacture a better SEC opening slate.
