If Ford build a Capri again it has to be a V6 RWD coupe that’s affordable if it doesn’t have all 3 of these qualities then please do not bother using the Capri name . It will be a travesty otherwise

@@Generalkenobi325 I own a v8 mk1 capri. There is a reason people say it should have had a v8. The weight difference between the stock v6 and stock v8 is very small.

if Ford does indeed build a capri again as a V6 RWD coupe and it reyains it;s classical looks from the original then I will buy one..I have always been a fan of the capri having had access to one in the 1986 2.8 i special editition for a short time

Another website suggests that if the Capri name is used again it will be on an SUV/CUV...with 4 doors. Ford, and others, tease potential buyers with 2 door concepts but aside from the Bronco and Mustang all they build is vehicles with 4 doors. Still, I have owned a 73 Capri, and a couple of Mustangs and would consider trading in my 06 Mustang for this concept.

My mate had had a 2.8 injection Capri, it was a beast, any Ford engine back in the day over 2.4 litres was made by Cosworth.

Loved my Capris. Owned a v6 and 4 banger, both 76. Wish I had the black v6 again.

There were v8 mk1 capri. They were built in South africa only, roughly 400 were built. They were official ford models called the perana capri.

It's a great idea in principal but I feel that it is in fact a pipe dream. I have a 1973 Mercury Capri with the 2000 4 cylinder, and I keep asking myself why they disappeared. The Pinto shared the same engine, and it got a bad rap too. I think its because of their economy, I think America wasn't ready for their kind of economy in the 1970s, and remaking it would start to stir up those memories more. The only thing I would see Ford making Capri wise is an EV.

You should avoid showing clips and pics of MK1 Capri next to those renderings. It makes renderings look like children drawings and the old design looks even more timeless and untouchable. Another thing is electric Capri? To me it is similar to SUV Mustang. Awful ! Better leave Capri alone....

Talking like its real or something lol!! I guarantee it wouldn’t have a 5.0 if it was real. The turbo 4 with electric motor insists would be more realistic. Or the eco boost 6 but why would they build a car faster than the mustang ford wouldn’t.

It's always good to have dreams but that car is just that... a dream. Ford will be lucky if they and GM are still in business in less than 10 yrs. Both corporations are poorly run with no imagination and horrible business management. My father had a Capri in the early 70s, it would be wonderful to see them bring it back, but highly doubt it!

@@feydespiel.Yep it was actually only sold in North America along with all the other countries you mentioned from 1970 through 1978 with a slight facelift in 1975,I think the guy you replied to was thinking more about now as far as it launching this rendering opposite the mustang,I live in the states now but I had a total of 6 of these ranging from the MK1,Mk2 and a 2.8 injection and they were great considering there really wasn’t any true muscle cars back then but they only put out between 140 and 175 Horsepower so they were well underpowered for what they could of been,We beefed them up to around 200 or some may of got to 220 horse but nothing compared to the mustangs over here,If this did get built with a 500 horse V8 it would be pretty epic and I think they’d sell quite a few…

Okay so this whole vid is a bunch of BS about a bloody RENDER! NOT AN ACTUAL CAR! From all that he's saying there is NO actual 2025 Capri. I wholeheartedly WISH there was one but no. It pisses me off when people do this junk and then laugh like they are so smart to be liars.
