The TS8 and 9 are basically the same shoe. I feel if you are an adidas runner and they work for you… you like a stiffer shoe and less bouncy foam. So having that core rotation really does cover all the basis.

Interesting topic. If I did do this o could only really talk about Nike and Adidas as those are are the only two I have a strong sense for race shoe durability. A little but on Asics too. I simply don’t bother with other brands race shoes. I’ll think about this one though. It is a question I see very often. I want to think about the best way to add value on the subject. I have an adidas marathon rotation. Almost exactly like the intended design bit without the primex, sl or ultraboost. Instead i use the solarglide as the workhorse (except long run i use the boston 11) . Lots of people hate on them (both boston 11 and solarglide) because theyre heavy, but the shoes are tanks, boost cushioning (in solarglide)seems to never die or change in temperature extremes, the outsole last forever and grips in any condition. Good vid.

Boost was a great foam in small doses (like the Boston 9) but when you get a lot of it… it just feels mushy to me. I had a pair of Boost something’s years ago as casual shoes and never got on with them for that.

Yes, it is a useful video. I used Pro 3 for racing a marathon, SL for daily easy runs and Sen 9 for fast speed workout. I didn’t know Takumi Sen is good for racing 5/10K, now I will save this good pair for a 10K race. I also have Adizero I bought 3 years ago for training on the track. Absolutely love it as it makes me run fast. It has been worn out a bit and wondered if I should buy Boston 12 which is out now. I also have New Balance FuelCell Elite V2 and Vaporfly Next% 2 for long runs. Any comments if I should do anything for my shoe rotations? 😅😅😅😅
@SagasuRunning
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
I’m glad this video was useful. The Adidas rotation in it should give you a good grounding on how to look at and Adidas rotation. The new Boston 12 is very much a road shoe that is somewhere between a daily trainer and a tempo shoe… definitely not something for the track. The new Adios 8 is a good workout shoe and track workout option. I have lots of content about this on my channel. I’d say the only gap in your shoe lineup would be a non plated softer/bouncier daily trainer option… like an Asics Novablast 3. I will have a bunch of rotation and shoe pairing videos coming out in the new few weeks. So stay tuned for more.

@@SagasuRunning oh my goodness, I’m thrilled to hear from you promptly. Def I will check out Adios 8 on your channel. May I ask what kind of training I need to wear the bouncier daily shoes? Also, if I have the NB FuelCell TC which is my tempo run and has been hit the ground to run 450K which is still new…maybe I can wait for a while before spending money to buy Boston 12? What do you think? Last but not the least, you are a great communicator. Everything is clear, precise and easy to understand. No nonsense! Love it so much!

@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
@@01lsw The New Balance FuelCell Elite V2 you have is essentially the Boston 12, so you don't need the B12 right now. It's an option for tempo training you may want to consider when it's time to replace. As far as when do you need to run in a softer non-played shoe? I'd say most of the time. The bulk of your running SHOULD be easy and in a non plated shoe ideally. Google "80/20 running" and you'll learn alot about the basics of training. I eventually am going to get to a video about this but it will be a while yet, I have alot to cover first. Thank you for the kind words. I'm happy to know my content is useful! 🙏🏻

I have a question, Im not a marathoner but I love running for fun, long/short distance. Right now in my collection I have AP3 and Mizuno Wave Rebellion Flash 2. The WRF2 supposed to be like a super trainer , my question is, since I am not race in marathon or anything, right now I run everyday from 5 till 20km and rest on Friday and Saturday. 1. how can I utilized my shoe on rotation both the mizuno and ap3? 2. Is it okay to run everyday with AP3? What is the durability for this shoe? 3. In term of running, what is the best practices that you always incorporate in your daily, like how many kms, what are you aiming for (if not target for marathon) (Really hope you can do a full video on your daily running practices, for non marathon and marathon period) 😁. ps : I love AP3 and feels like running in them everyday 😅. And since I have the mizuno trainer , i dont feels like buying another pair of Boston 12 or anything yet. I love your content as it keeps us engaging till the end.
@SagasuRunning
@SagasuRunning 3 ай бұрын
To answer your questions… 1). The Mizuno is your trainer and the AP3 is your racer. Since you don’t race I’d save that for faster running. You are missing a non plated daily trainer. I’d highly recommend finding one you like and running in that how mostly, then the Mizuno for slightly faster running and the AP3 for only the fastest runs you plans. 2). The AP3 is a super shoe, though it is one of the most durable. I can’t put a number on how long they will last as it differs for everyone… but I wouldn’t worry about the durability since you aren’t racing and training to race. 3). That is no one size fits all here. It comes down to understanding your own running and how your body reacts and recovers. Since you don’t race or train for racing I’d say just enjoy your running. Go out when you wish and aim for adding 2-3kms per week to your Overall running distance until it feels unmanageable. Thank you for the support. I’m glad you did my content valuable! 🤙🏻

Sir, after watching this video I decided to go with Adidas Prime X (also got better discount), now i'm bit confused after watching other reviews of stability and it causes ankle rolling etc.. any thoughts or should i return? what is you suggestion for long running (40 kms)from Adidas? thank you.
@SagasuRunning
@SagasuRunning Жыл бұрын
I’m not a fan of the Prime X. I do find it very unstable and unpleasant to run in. I also have strong ankles and have no issue with high stack shoes… but the Prime X is just too much going on. I see it more and an experiment from Adidas than a serious running shoe. So I’d return it. 40km is not a short run, so I assume you have some fitness and running experience. From Adidas I’d recommend the Adios Pro… at this point I’d also want for the Adios Pro 4 (which should be out in the coming weeks). The Adios Pro 3 is a great midsole but the upper is a total nightmare (see my review on this channel).

I have the pro 3 and sen 9. Personally, I wouldn't run more than 5 miles in the sen 9. I use it for track intervals and 5k racing. Anything else it just feels too harsh and too unstable. Its literally the opposite to a pro 3 and doesn't even feel like the same foam. Maybe my sen 9 will soften up but I'd recommend the boston if you want a shoe for training in with a broader reach.

I’ve grown to really dislike the mesh material that Adidas use on most of their shoes. It’s a no give material and harsh on the feet as well as being very delicate once it’s passed about 80-100km of use. The fatigue point is very low.

As an average runner I am starting to realise that these super stiff plated shoes only come to life at speeds I can no way hold for a marathon or even half maraton.. I love the AP3 for 4:45/km pace and below, it's a nice rolling training shoe. But, yes...they come alive at faster speeds, all attainable by non-elite average runners. We CAN still get gains from the stiffer shoes. Though it is quickly diminishing returns with over a 4hr marathon time. Which is the the use case of the Boston 12... and the Asics Superblast , Hoka Mach X, and the Nike Zoom Fly 5 (among others).
