After the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of the World in 32 A.D., the Jews did not appreciate the passages in Enoch that obviously pointed to Jesus as the Messiah. After a few more centuries, the Christian Church became uncomfortable with the many references to angels in Enoch that might influence the laity to worship them. Fortunately, Enoch was 'rediscovered' in our time as the accurate expanded-account of Genesis-6 and the antediluvian World.

I have some feeling that we should have included Enoch and other stories or scripture in the Bible just because the author is lost to time or other circumstances we could put it in behind the index or at the beginning with some sort of information like we don’t know who the true author is but we included these stories for interpretation or something like that. It seems unfair to not include something just because of the circumstances or the unknown author but it’s just a thought it’s unlikely it would ever happen.

The reason why it's not included is because there's no basis for it. All the other books have been confirmed.

@@GoemonLovesFujiko that's not evidence for the book of Enoch. That just backs up (some) of what potentially took place in the book of Enoch. Big difference.

The Bible says angels fell during the flood, married human women and had children. the rest of Enoch- save the last bit about Noah- which scholars believe to be the uninspired bit- lines up with scripture. Where does Jesus get the doctrine of Abraham’s bossom from? Where does Jesus get his demonology from? Etc etc. the early church read Enoch it’s clear.

@@GoemonLovesFujiko ok. You clearly don't understand. Just because two books say similar things doesn't mean there's enough evidence to support everything that's in one of the books. That's why it was removed. There's more than just the book of Enoch that was removed due to confirmation inabilities. The Bible has parts that talk about all 80 books, but there are only 66 confirmed books. There's a difference between speaking about some of the things that correlate with some of the other books, and being able to confirm the whole book.

@@LordVader407 I’m not calling it inspired cannon- I’m saying it was apparently worth reading for the early church- along with scripture. There are other books mentioned in scripture that are not in the cannon. For example the Acts of Solomon, the Book of the Kings etc.. These were mentioned in scripture to an audience with an expectation that they would be familiar “Now the acts of King David, first and last, indeed they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer,….” 1 Chronicles 29:29. Enoch appears to be such a book- familiar to the second temple Jews and the first church believers, and scripture of import enough to be quoted by Jude, touched on by Peter, and referenced by Jesus.
