I would’ve thought because they were too expensive. Battle droids seemed to be made on the cheap (relatively speaking). It’s why they didn’t just make legions of Commando Droids or Magnaguards.

That was the 2nd reason, aside from palpatine controlling events.. The seperatists leaders that represented THE MUENS OF THE PLANET SKIPPIO and THE NAMOIDIANS had already placed billions into not only researching and developing and constructional prototypes but also in construction of brand new factories and mining resources to get them build within the 2nd year of the war but when palpatine had the plans leaked on purpose so GENERAL SKYWALKER would not only destroy them but also seem like a hero for saving thousands of people from seperatists slave labor that were gonna be used to built them. At around that time After that, the seperatists started losing battles in the mid to the outer rim, month after month. Prompting them to consolidate any remaining financial resources to their last attempt at THE BATTLE OF CORASCANT.. And we all know how that ended!..

While the most expensive part of the standard Droid was the head. Somewhat ingenious as they could then if the head is intact install that onto a new body and get the data from the battle as well. Which to keep the head intact had the head be the most durable part of the Droid making it the most expensive part of it.

Well I'd think a few well bit, expensive battle droids might be an effective solution if the war was delegated to like one continent, vs the expanse of space, where simple and cheap manufacturing needs can be utilized across the galaxy using common materials and labor.

Cortosis, phrik alloy, and beskar, three different metals, all had the ability to resist the extreme cutting heat of lightsabers. The issue of course is having enough to equip an army. In one example, rather than armor, General Grievous' Magnaguard droids were equipped with shockstaves which were laced with phrik alloy, allowing them to block lightsaber strikes while using much less metal than fully armoring them.

In one stroke he destroyed the Jedi Order the eternal enemy of the smith corrupted the Galactic republic to his whim, and most organised opposition was either dead, imprisoned or goody tooshie senators that new if they opposed the emperor they'd be replaced by a Imperial loyalist and not to mention he turned the chosen one to the dark side turning him against the Jedi that prophesised he bring balance to the force. Let’s not forget the upgrade to these included a second pair or rapid repeating blaster arms, the main arms given grasping vibroclaw hands and heavy laser YES laser cannons, a gravity inducer to make them immune to force push, grounding to be immune to emp grenades, a built in flamethrower and finally a pack of missile called ‘brilliant’ missiles that could well lets just say they never missed ever and could kill atte’s in pairs, the droid carried like 20 of them. Overpowered indeed.

For those wondering, the manufacturing of these droids is detailed in the clone wars storyline of thrawn: alliances, and cortosis is a metal that easily disperses large amounts of energy along its surface area. Great book, and I’d recommend reading the whole series by Timothy Zahn Edit: the location of the factory was not leaked, one of padme’s subordinates stumbles across people involved with it on Batuu and was killed. Padme and anakin picked up the subordinates trail, even enlisting the help of a young thrawn

Anyone who read the novel "Alliances" would know about this!!! Location of this factory wasn't leaked by palpatine, padme's servant duja found out about this place and called padme to meet her. After not hearing from padme for a while anakin gets weary and tries to find her by travelling to the system, where he meets thrawn for the first time and destroys the factory

He did not leak it to the Jedi. He leaked it to one of Padme's aides, who went to investigate it herself and never checked in, so Padme went to look for her and *also* stopped checking in. So Anakin went, IN SECRET, to rescue Padme and came across Mitth'raw'nurudo (Thrawn) en route to the planet where the factory was. Anakin only discovered it (and blew it up) because Padme was captured and held captive in the factory. It was a VERY subtle plan to eliminate the factory without it ever leading back to him because the only person who knew the source of the info was Padme's aide, who was killed while looking for the factory.

They could do it somewhere else like as example during the 2. battle of geonosis this season focuses on another planet. Or the "clone wars" not "the clone wars" series but not animated and Canon. Or it could play before the first season of the clone wars like a prequel of a prequel of a prequel of a sequel of a prequel which is the sequel of a prequel that is a prequel of the Originals.

Seriously, he told him to kill off Ventress for similar reasons! The last thing he needed was Dooku deciding to carry out his own Order 66 with Lightsaber Resistant Battle Droids & stealing Sidious' thunder!

Also, in the old lore (now called legends), cortosis was incredibly fragile, and it only worked if the Jedi were using a certain kind of circuts in their saber. It caused a feedback loop or something that shut the saber down. So it was very impractical and costly to make armor out of, and Beskar was controlled exclusively by the Mandalorians, and nobody went to war with Mandalore.

there was also the B3 battle driod, I don't know if they were lightsaber resistant but they were extremely difficult for jedi to face because of their overwhelming firepower. unfortunately they would malfunction so they were recalled, and it proved difficult to fix from what I understand.

I believe lore wise, on top of being cost ineffective, the cortosis needed to make droids in the amount needed to be effective was just not available or accessible without incurring costs so significant that even the IGBC said no

As mentioned in legends the CIS tried once The reason why they didn’t keep trying was because crotosis is rare. And it’s same reason why they didn’t mass produce elite droids like Commando Droids. Elite droids are expensive It’s better to create expendable cheap droids in near infinite numbers to swarm the clones and Jedi and overwhelm them on numbers In truth the CIS would have won a war of attrition as Clones and Jedi are finite, and droids being so easily mass produced are near infinite So instead of draining their revenue on elite expensive droids that could be destroyed and irreplaceable It’s preferable to rely on the inferior droids which in long run could have won the war if Sidious didn’t have his endgame

True, was said somewhere that for 50 battle droids destroyed, 1 clone would die. And there was also a calculation done for the math, for how much money each side was spending. And unsurprisingly, the republic was spending way way more money on clones, than the cis, and eventually if the war kept going on and on, it would've led to near bankruptcy for the republic.

Cortosis also isn't a common material, Palpatine in the old EU when he became aware of it started to divert to his palace as a defense against any rogue Jedi that survived the purge that would make an assassination attempt on him, making the palace walls and underground layers laced with it

If i recall those Lightsaber resistant droids were not the only thing Anakin found in that factory, but they also found a massive assembly line of lightsaber Resistant Clone Trooper armor, foreshadowing Order 66. As this was when Anakin was Accompanied by Lieutenant Thrawn when he fought in the clone wars. Thrawn quickly pieced together the reasoning for that armor but refused to share that information and chose to keep it to himself. Anakin assumed they were going to use the armor to outfit thousands of commando droids to infiltrate the grand army of the republic. for whatever plot may have been hatched by the CIS. Even though he was way off target with that assumption.
