Honestly, that's a VERY ABSURD number of years and I wonder if the writers knew how big 25,000 years actually is! (or in this case, George Lucas, since he's the one who wrote "for over a thousand generations") Just to put things in perspective: on Earth, the invention of agriculture happened about 12,000 years ago (according to Wikipedia). Basically our own real life version of the US, China, and Russia (those 3 super power core worlds) battling over smaller countries (outter rim worlds). Nice to see someone use the picture of Shawken Spire. I would love to see a video on 20 Wonders of the galaxy by Vicendi (I think) at 10.000 BBY. And did you know that Alsakan had one of the Wonder too? It's called Alsakan mosaic. While Coruscant had two: the kilometers high Imperial Palace, and the Cold crypt. Great videos! Congratulations on you're 1000 video, Geetsly. I was kind of hoping for something a bit more entertaining than just some stuff about the Core Worlds Lightsaber measuring contests. But, like all of you're videos, this one was still very enjoyable, Grand Master Geetsly. This is why you're the best and only Star Wars KZfaqr I subscribe too. :) Although I think you're a little hard on the Core Worlds they aren't all bad, and not all of them are Human dominated, there are a few alien worlds in there like Duro. And speaking of, since you asked if we'd be interested in learning about more Core Worlds, I'd be interested in learning more about Duro and if they ever recovered after what Grevious did to them during Operation Durges Lance.

Can you do a video commenting your opnion about how Dave Filoni developed the Jedi in clone wars as an institution that made big mistakes and if that deviated from what George Lucas developed the jedi to symbolically represent in history? Do you think this "subversion" ended up working and giving the story the depth it needed? Do you think that George Lucas already raised this question, but didn't develop it in the story of the Prequels because that wasn't the focus of the plot?
@worldwanderer91
@worldwanderer91 Жыл бұрын
Dave Filoni is only following Luca's original interpretation and vision of SW story. The Prequel movies showed us a glimpse of how far the Jedi had fallen from their ideals and what they were supposed to be in the OT. TCW show and now the Dooku episodes from Tales of the Jedi only added further detail showing the Jedi being as inefficient, dogmatic, blind, and corrupt as the Senate it now serves as opposed to the Will of the Force.

@@worldwanderer91 The Jedi are not an “institution”. They’re not some government bureaucracy, they’re tasked with keeping peace and balance in the force, and that’s what they tried to do at every point they could. It was not through any fault of the Jedi that Order 66 happened, it was only though Palpatine’s evil genius political maneuvering.
@worldwanderer91

@@felicitys3621 Even without Sith shenanagans, the Jedi was also rotting away from within like the Republic was. It got more dogmatic, rigid, inflexible, bureaucratic, near-emotionless, and more concerned about blindly obeying the Will of the Senate as opposed to following the Will of the Force. They essentially became Force-using Senate law enforcement officers who delude themselves into believing they are somehow neutral peacekeepers.

Well back in the good old days the outer rim and sith space could rival the core worlds in grandeur. Dromund Kaas , Ziost , Zygerria , Ord Radama to name a few of the great planets that where left meaningless by the time of the clone wars. While mostly the sith were some real bastards, some of them were actually empire builders like darth Marr who low-key wanted the best for their people. In a sense even vitiate, till he ditched the sith for his new eternal empire.

I'm mostly interested in Corellia. I was surprised to learn that it was one of the dominant worlds of the Core. I assumed that It was kind of like Detroit at its prime, known for great industrial input but not a nice place to live. It was probably because my only view into Corellia was from Solo. My impression may be partly because Solo focused its attention on the world's crime ridden underbelly but I had a feeling that Imperialization of Corellian Engineering Corporation was a major factor. Did Corellia gradually decline in status before the Clone Wars? Was there a specific period where Corellia's fortunes sharply changed? I would like to know these things.

I look at the human civilizations in Star Wars kind of like the United States (my home country). California hates Oklahoma, Oklahoma hates Texas, Texas hates New York, New York hates Florida, Florida hates Oregon, Oregon hates North Carolina, North Carolina hates South Carolina (and vice-versa), Hawai'i hates everyone, and so on. We all get along most of the time, but not always. For some states, it boils down to major ideological/political differences (see: California vs. Oklahoma), others regional rivalries (see: Oklahoma vs. Texas, North vs. South Carolina), and still others petty d*ck measuring contests or all of the above. But what happens if you were to go and give us a common enemy and/or attack one of the 50 states? If our leadership is smart and competent, may god have mercy on your soul because all of us, regardless of homestate, we will come for you and make you regret ALL of your life choices while you're on your way to the afterlife. But if our leadership is idiotic and incompetent...you get our present reality.

You know, I was almost going to call out Geetsly at the end for saying everything wrong with the galaxy can be traced back to the Core until he noted all these other factions. To be fair though, whoever controls the Core controls the galaxy. Under the reign of the Jedi and Republic, everything was peaceful but nobody ever bothered with the many nonviolent issues plaguing the Rim. And under the reign of the Sith and Empires, life just became a living hell for everybody including the Core Worlds. I watched a fan video where a Republic officer became a nihilist or maybe just went crazy. Either way, he tried to crash a Republic ship filled with toxic gas into Coruscant to spare its people from Separatist brutality, and this was early in the war. Anyways, I wonder how many people throughout the galaxy wondered if life would get better if the Core Worlds were just gone. Since the Core sits at the end of most hyperspace lanes by being at the center of the galaxy, it of course can charge all trade that has to go through it. So, what if the Core was gone? These worlds didn’t exist? Would a leaderless galaxy work towards equality or would somebody else take the reigns? Think if this happened during the 1,000 years of peace for the Galactic Republic. No Sith, No Mandalorians, and before the last few hundred years when megacorporations became powerful.

I like to compare it to our world, African former colonies have become independent but corruption does not go away, if anything it becomes more prevalent as the limited duty of care also fell away, the outer rim becoming the roaming place for tyranical dictatorial and or downright criminal regimes that would take great care to keep their power centralized and so doing, without any sort of importance being given to public oppinion and the keys of power being in the hands of those that controlled the strategic resources , militairy,... these worlds, which being actual worlds should be able to be self substainable at least, became nothing more than the resource extraction points. No doubt the rulers of these dystopian hellscapes would at least try to placate their populations as effectively and cheaply as possible, mainly trough taking great care to push all the blame for the suffering onto the core worlds and humanity (and other core species) in general. over time the better situated outer rim worlds would develop into healthier countries as internal and external developments pushed those into systems where the keys of power ended in ever more hands and eventually a system where accountabillity to the populace was reached. Most of the outer rim would not develop at all however, (in fact those worlds with decent climatological conditions but little to no important resources would be much more likely to develop into functioning self sufficient systems.

If even that. A lot of planets that were technically under the rule of the Old Republic were brutally poor and used purely to fuel the Old Republic’s insatiable need for resources. It would be like how France ruled over Vietnam, or how Britain treated India and Africa. The people in those countries were mistreated, enslaved and used to farm resources until they simply died. None of them were ***ever*** experience the luxuries France and Britain got to experience so far away. . This was the relationship of most planets with the Core Worlds of the Republic. They were isolated, abused, stripped of their resources and left to die.

But a small handful of planets became unbelievably powerful, with places like Coruscant having all 100% of their conceivable available landmass completely covered in Ultra-Utopian Megacities. Meanwhile, for just Coruscant alone to reach such a feat, at least a dozen planets had to be stripped bare of all conceivable resources, turning them into barren and lifeless worlds.
