This problem occurs (most probably) because the keyframes are too far apart from your game recorder, to solve this, record in a format where every frame is a keyframe, like MJPEG for example, then the software will know where it can cut safely.

Furnace minecart + Powered rails is fast and with the ability to attach up to 4 carts which would allow 108 shulker boxes to be transported at one time so in theory you can transport 186,624 diamond blocks per transport.

Furnace minecart was for powering minecart before powered rail is a thing, I guess. But people soon discovers that using a minecart booster is way faster so no one use furnance minecart unless for maybe slow tour trains.

Furnace minecarts would actually be pretty cool if they overhauled the train mechanics. Make it more reliable and make it so you can link dozens of carts instead of 4. That would actually be pretty badass. I'm imagining hundreds of minecart chests in a mine all being pulled along by a furnace minecart.

And what about the longer the train is, the slower it goes ? Or using all the others fuels in the game with the furnace minecart, getting different speeds and/or durations ? We could even auto-refill it by attaching a hopper minecart to it, like wagon stocking coal behind locomotives. Yep, that could definitely be overhauled.

The longer the train the slower the acceleration but the top speed should stay the same I think. Thats how trains work IRL for the most part.

some of us used to use multi-cart train elevators pretty commonly a long time ago to get things from deep mines to the surface and dump them off automatically, just fill up cart trains and build switching stations to shunt off the full carts at the surface and send the furnace cart back down the slope with empties. they were outshone quickly by the powered rails once they existed and people figured out how to use them to replace boosters and the need for furnace carts. the furnace cart is kinda the sad potato that gets picked last for teams (if ever) nowadays and people have forgotten most of the mechanics of how to use em.

I think it is a shame that horses are so much faster than mine carts. The game is about mining. Minecarts on straight Golden Rail should get at least as fast as Horses and probably all the way to 16 meters per second. Horses are free of tracks and Minecarts are not.

I wish they would just give the whole minecart system in its entirety an update. It would be AWESOME if they did an overhaul on the cave systems AND gave the minecarts some love in the SAME UPDATE!!!

My wish is that they change it to have the speed dependant on what fuel is put into it. Put in charcoal, it's the same speed... Coal, faster.. Lava, even faster... Blaze rods, stupid fast.

@Eric Lee I'm baffled by your baffledness. If you were able to put that much into words, surely you could form a valid argument against my idea. As it stands right now, the balancing with furnaces is that the better the fuel, the longer they burn. Why would it be a stretch to imagine that better fuel would mean faster locomotion? Even real world cars work in this manner. Put cruddy gas in a dragster, you won't get as good of speeds as you would with racing fuels. But that's fine. You feel free to be baffled. :)

@Eric Lee I know this is two months old, but what on earth do you mean "lava is not very easy to optain?" Lava is everywhere in the overworld, and with a "cost" of three iron per bucket it is quite cheap. Even if you try to argue that as soon as you get to the nether, that blazes are easily farmable, you're neglecting the _huge lava oceans_ that are way easier to farm as you can just pop down and scoop up some whenever.

I dunno about the coal charcoal difference, charcoal is a starter coal that balances the accessibility of wood for a higher resource cost while coal is plentiful only after the first stages of the game.

Furnace Minecart Features that should be added: - When right Clicking them with nothing In Hand you can open a furnace GUI and put fuel in there and keep them running further and longer by putting more powerful fuel in it. - Furnace minecarts can be connected to other Minecarts by tieing leads to one Minecart to a Furnace Minecart and making chained mincart systems this way. - Furnace Minecarts THAT have Fuel and Also have powered fuel and are Moving there max speed per second will keep chunks loaded so they can transport other Minecarts with storage to there destination via making sure those (1) chunk is loaded as it travels until it hits a wall and stops. There is many other features they could add to these things like not losing speed around corners like traditional minecarts + also making them still smelt items if needed :D and more!

Tecnically you can link minecarts together, the problem is they will derail at any curve, be it 90° or 45° or any slope whatsoever That is what makes it currently so useless

All they had to do was add the train-like connectivity for minecarts, make furnace minecarts one directional and allow them to be filled with fuel by hoppers. But looks like it was too hard to add this in a game during 8 years

Alex Siemers well, that was kind of obvious thing, and I suppose it would have got extremely popular to build industrial railroads with large cargo trains. At least before the updates that gave us too fast elytra flying and shulcker boxes, that killed any reason for ordinary players having transportation systems in their worlds. For me, since 1.9 minecraft development went the wrong way, only except observers

Maybe it's just that minecart got used too little, and thus they don't feel like making it too complicated... Otherwise they could just absorb the railcraft mod and everyone will be happy.

There's even more ways than that in terms of how furnace minecarts could be improved, but Mojang (and most of the community) consistently forgets about them.

Fun fact: using 2 furnace minecarts on tracks and having 1 or multiple detector rails actually leaves a reliable redstone clock. I tried a 3x3 area to test and its a really reliable clock. Especially since servers keep track of minecarts and not of redstone. I left it running on a server next to a redstone clock with similar timing, but the server bugged the redstone clock while the furnace clock was flawless. I can even predict in what stance my pistons will be after X amount of hours, which is something I cannot say for regular redstone clocks.

over00lord Unknown on what, predicting what stance they are in? its easy. You can track gameticks and how many ticks it takes for a piston to extend or retract. It takes 20 ticks per second. So if it takes 30 ticks for a piston to extend or retract, its been 1,5 seconds exactly. So if a piston starts retracted, after 36 hours, which is 129600 seconds, meaning the piston activated 86400 times, which means the piston is retracted after exactly 36 hours because the number isnt an odd number.

POTATO POTATO POTATO POTATO POTATO POTATO POTATO for bugging out the redstone clock? That simply happens when an area unloads. The only location a regular redstone clock wouldnt bug is the spawn area. Minecarts and tracks are always tracked, no matter if the textures unloaded.

Used to love minecarts . I thought that leads were going to be used to connect them when they first came out but was disappointed. Now they are overshadowed by shulker boxes and elytra. Needs a bit of updating.

It still is the best transportation and reliable (somewhat) method. Its really glitchy, which is what makes it bad mostly. An update will make it better probably.

RC14Hz boats on ice isnt that bad, its just gathering all the ice can be a chore if youre going long distances. dunno why people are here crying about elytra and shulker boxes when they were put into the game for their own convenience. "Yes, I'd rather build this giant 2 way rail system using multiple different types of rails and redstone to power them to transport items instead of wearing wings and chucking 5-10 shulkers in my inventory and flying to where i wanna go".

watching this 3 years later, it makes me think, it would be interesting if you could use the new chain block in order to make a strong link between different minecart types, one which isn't so buggy and can, for example, go up or down hills, and around corners. I think it would add a new usefulness to furnace minecarts in the early to mid game, for players that want to move chest minecarts, but do not have access to large quantities of gold yet.

There are 2 more uses for the Furnace Minecart: A carpet on top of a furnace minecart has that cube texture on top, which can be used as an alternate "target" for the Hopper minecart, indicating a "Throw items here" vs a "Don't Throw Items here". And the immobile nature of the furnace minecart makes it perfect for downward redstone- the only downward togglable redstone with a detector rail. Otherwards you'd need a pressure plate. Minecart with Chest ups the tag/entity count, Hopper minecart ups the checks done per chunk, TNT minecarts are dangerous, and normal minecarts whizz away.

If there was a way to automatically fuel the furnace minecart, it would be actually very useful. Imagine like a quarry, with a huge shulkerbox sorter, putting the filled boxes instead of chests in chestminecarts, which then get pulled in groups of for by a furnace minecart. Then these trains could automatically travel to the nether and from there to the main storage and get sorter over there. It would actually be a solution for many storage problems

I think you can run a hopper into the furnace minecart with coal itll start running

No you can't. Hopper can just transfer items to a container, like chest or minecart chest. However Minecart furnace DON'T have an inventory, but a fuel charge. The only thing possible to fuel a minecarft furnace is to right click on it with coal, that consume the coal. If it was possible, you should be able to fuel with a whole stack of items, like regular furnace. But that's not the case.

I wish it was removed i cant stack coal in the furnace minecart so i can put 13 coal and it stops like 20 blocks later my conclusion the furnace minecart is the most useless of all minecarts

What if you have a second furnace Minecraft that follows a bit after the player. And nudges the player after a "rail stop". Maby even add a Hopper minecart to pick up drops. Then the "train" would be: Furnace minecart, player minecart, hopper minecart(s), some space, a second furnace minecart.

It would become infinitely more useful despite it's bugs if one could put fuel in it via hoppers or hopper minecarts and get a comparitor signal when it was lit. Ah sweet dreams.

I saw a netherwart farm design once that popped off the plants after counting the number of block updates given by the netherwart growth stages. That was pretty impressive stuff.

Do you think it would be possible to make the machine at 8:15 work with trains longer than 2 carts? I use trains for survival transportation but they only work with straight rails currently, would be amazing to find some solution!

I actually used furnace minecarts pretty regularly in my builds, this is one of the first videos ive seen using furnace minecarts and also not saying that they suck... If you think something in Minecraft sucks it just means you do not know how to use that item or block

@@triklop_8708 using datapack to create your own crafting recipes I made them useful by a quick way to update tools. I;e iron pickaxe to gold pickaxe using 3 gold ingots and the iron pickaxe instead of two sticks. Then repeat using diamond with gold pickaxe. Saves you from using sticks and speeds up crafting process. There, I made them useful. Also as the golden hoe and diamond not being used often is great for map makers because they can abuse a glitch to make custom blocks with them. Bam, useful again now.

did they change the furnace minecart? i thought it used to stick to the minecart when it pushed. i tested in like 1.7 i think. whenever they added anvils

IDK if this is in the game but you should be able to use a hopper 'or if they want to be awkward a dispenser' to put stuff in a furnace minecart. Also why doesn't it work like an actual furnace? Is it for duping reasons?

Furnace cart predates the powered rail, the only inventories in the game were chests and players, I dont think notch thought how to give entities inventories, so the furnace has 'consumes' a coal and has a burn timer

I would like bats to be useful. If you kill one, maybe it would drop a bat wing. Then it could work like the rabbit hide and several of them together would make 1 leather. Or perhaps it could be a potion ingredient for something? I'm hoping we will get a cave update at some point soon and bats (plus minecarts) will have more uses

I thought minecarts with chests or furnace minecarts and stuff are pretty unreliable because they are entities and could despawn (with your stuff in it). do they actually despawn after a while or if the rails lead them out of active chunks?

I loved using the furnace Minecart back in the day. And now that we have hoppers I think it makes your mining that much more fun cuz I like to use mine tracks in my mine

I had no idea it could power itself and be a little locomotive for a train, that's kind of adorable haha. It would be great for a little roller coaster ride for multiple people/mobs; if only it didn't need extra machinery to handle anything but going straight
