I remember watching the 1998 semi final against Brazil.The winner of that semi final would be favorite to win final against France.Netherlands missed so many chances from talisman Patric Kluivert,but he eventually scored equalizer and they went into sudden death extra time.If any team scores in extra time,it will be game over.So one of their players was dropped in the Box and that was a clear penalty,but referee accused Dutch player of diving,so penalty was disallowed.If penalty was given,Dutch would have scored to end the match and book their spot in the final against France.They would have beaten France as their style would be harder to France for figure out.History tells us Brazil lost the Final to France after talisman Ronaldo was sick hours before kick off,was dropped and then reinstated in the team.The disruption and chaos threw the team off and played without usual mental focus,France pounced on that and beat them.So yes the Dutch are very unlucky team.
