It's a more subtle way of saying "find proselytes" "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves."

David, you are so right. We were in Bible college from 1977-1980; took some Bible correspondent courses in the 1980s, and then my husband attended seminary in the 1990's. About 98-99% churches as well as Bible college(s) and seminary all belittled and condemned the KJV Bible and those who use it. We tried many of the "new versions" that were recommended, and we kept going back go the KJV. Our research was separate from you and Jack Chick, but it was honest and thorough. And what did we find? Exactly what you've pointed out: the KJV is the clear, accurate, authoritative, inspired, inerrant Word of God in English! The manuscripts it is based upon are God's Word! Why has most of Christendom rejected the KJV, and why do heresies prefer the KJV? Because they want to smear God's truth, and bring people into the strong delusion that has captured "Christianity"...except for the faithful. May we remain true to God's Holy Word, in doctrine and practice!

JesusismyKing777 Even the KJV Bible have many bad Translation of Verses in it. The KJV Bible Translators added 1 John 5:7 to the KJV ! This verse is not found in the Original Manuscripts. *Does 1 John 5:7-8 Have Added Text ?* Some person or persons in centuries past were so zealous to find support for their belief in the Trinity that they literally added it. There are numerous Scholars in fact that inform us that this passage has a spurious comment which has been added. The textual Scholar Bart Ehrman described this forgery as follows: “…this represents the most obvious instance of a theologically motivated corruption in the entire manuscript tradition of the New Testament.” Thus the scholarly consensus is that this passage is a Latin corruption that found its way into a Greek manuscript at an early date while being absent from the THOUSANDS of other manuscripts. This addition is so famous and hence so well known that it has even been given its own name and is called the “Comma Johanneum.” Comma means a short clause. Modern Bible translations come from two manuscripts called the Codex Sinaiticus, which has more edits than any other manuscript in Biblical history (14800 edits), and the Codex Vaticanus which comes from the Vatican. These two manuscripts do NOT contain the Comma Johanneum and why this added text is not found in modern Bible translations other than the NKJV where it was added only to match the KJV. The King James New Testament on the other hand was compiled from over 5000 copies of copies of the original manuscripts which have long since perished. Now please take careful note that this added text was found in only ONE of the 5000 plus manuscripts. THAT MEANS ADDED ! And so there is not one major theologian that does not acknowledge this fact. And yet considering all the irrefutable facts, it is amazing that there are still some who go into denial rather than acknowledge this well-known corruption that is so famous that it has even been given its own name ! The English King James Bible translated in 1611 AD retains this Trinitarian forgery, but none of our modern translations have it except the NKJV where it was added to match the KJV. The King James Version reads as follows, “For there are three that bear record IN HEAVEN, THE FATHER, THE WORD, AND THE HOLY GHOST: AND THESE THREE ARE ONE. 8 AND THERE ARE THREE THAT BEAR WITNESS IN EARTH, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” 1 John 5:7-8 Thus the words in CAPS are found in the KJV, NKJV but are missing from almost every other translation. Thomas Nelson and Sons Catholic Commentary, 1951, page 1186 states, “It is now generally held that this passage, called the Gomma Johanneum, is a gloss that crept into the text of the Old Latin and Vulgate at an early date, but found its way into the Greek text only in the 15th and 16th centuries.” Here is how 1 John 5:7-8 reads from the NIV and most other Bible translations. “For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” Erasmus did not include the infamous Comma Johanneum of 1 John 5:7-8 in either his 1516 or 1519 editions of his Greek New Testament but made its way into his third edition in 1522 because of pressure from the Catholic Church. After his first edition appeared in 1516, there arose such a furor over the absence of the Comma that Erasmus needed to defend himself. He argued that he did not put in the Comma Trinitarian formula because he found no Greek manuscripts that included it. Once one was produced called the Codex 61, that was written by one Roy or Froy at Oxford in c. 1520, he reluctantly agreed to include it in his subsequent editions. Erasmus probably altered the text because of politico-theologico-economic concerns. He did not want his reputation ruined, nor his Novum Instrumentum to go unsold. Thus it passed into the Stephanus Greek New Testament in 1551 (first New Testament in verses), which came to be called the Textus Receptus, and became the basis for the Geneva Bible New Testament in 1557 and the Authorized King James Version in 1611. “The passage as given in the KJV is in no Greek Manuscript earlier than the 15th and 16th centuries. The disputed words found their way into the KJV by way of the Greek text of Erasmus (see Volum V, page 141). It is said that Erasmus offered to include the disputed words in his Greek Testament if he were shown even one Greek Manuscript that contained them. A library in Dublin produced such a Manuscript (known as 34), and Erasmus included the passage in his text. It is now believed that the later editions of the Vulgate acquired the passage by the mistake of a scribe who included an exegetical marginal comment in the Bible text that he was copying . The disputed words have been widely used in support of the doctrine of the Trinity, but, in view of such overwhelming evidence against their authenticity, their support is valueless and should not be used. In spite of their appearance in the Vulgate A Catholic Commentary on Holy Scripture freely admits regarding these words: “It is now generally held that this passage, called the Comma Johanneum, is a gloss that crept into the text of the Old Latin and Vulgate at an early date, but found its way into the Greek text only in the 15th and 16th centuries” (Thomas Nelson and Sons, 1951, page 1186)” - (The Seventh-day Adventist Bible Commentary, volume 7, page 675)

Nathan Chip That's why the KJV translators compared their text with previous ancient Bibles in other tongues, and they all had 1 John 5.7 in their translations. They didn't just pull this verse out of thin air, just like they accurately translated 1 Tim. 3.16, "God was manifest in the flesh." The only persons who would want to eliminate these verses is Satan and Rome. The KJV was translated out of the original tongues with the former translations diligently compared and revised. The KJV translators got the written Word of God right in the English language. As I said to you before, divine inspiration is meaningless without divine preservation. You're a gainsayer, God does not bless gainsayers. I'm sure you also pervert the gospel, it goes hand in hand with attacking the veracity of God's divinely preserved Word. You get the gospel correct, and you will become a King James Bible believing Christian. Your myths you believe in are already condemning you.

Hi David. The Lord saved me out of the pit just over 7 years ago. I was adopted into a traditional Lakota family, and trained as a pipe keeper and sun dancer. It's a long story. Shortly after my salvation, I was confused about all the Bible versions, so prayed about what Bible to use. The Lord said the KJV. However, I soon got sidetracked in my studies of the Bible. A year later the Lord called me to school. I spent three years in an MDiv program. followed by two years in an MA, out of the same seminary. I am about to stop the MA, and resign my Baptist credentials. It's a long story. I have been binge watching your vlog for the last few days, and reading my KJV once again. Your vlogs are hugely helpful in deprogramming from the 'scholarship' and the 'ministry' and getting back to God, and His Word. Matthew 23 applies. God bless you!

It's a breath of fresh air to hear your simple message. I feel reassured. I'm just a new born babe in Christ but I've already had my fair share of questioning my choice of translation. I can't help that I've been drawn to it since the beginning. I also want to give thanks for putting yourself on the line and giving John Todd a voice. I have little idea of how that all ended up for you and how you feel about it, but it just occurred to me as I stumbled upon your videos today that it takes a man of faith to do what you did. I have been reading Fritz Springmeier's book on Watchtower and Masonry and I was reminded of John when I read what happened to Fritz. I don't know much about either man but it feels good to hear them out despite how they're labelled.

Thank you brother , for making me go back to faith . I know that the lord wants me to know that the KJV is the truth . Every time i was going to other versions , I always came in doubt , because if you think that every bible is NOT perfect , how can you believe in the words that are in it? It is simply not working that way . If you know that every bible has another word for it . I am blessed and so thankful that the lord has given me the truth in my own hands again . Its time to obey the truth . And believe again with faith . Amen 🙏🏻

Wonderful explanation David. Much needed defense of KJV. This "making disciples" is so pervasive in the evangelical church now. The simplicity of "teach" is almost lost. Some people might say, "what difference does it make"? Makes all the difference in the world on how we do missions, and personal evangelism. Can you suggest one of your videos that defends the Textus Receptus of the KJV and the history of that preserved text? Thanks so much. God bless you for all you do defending the scriptures as received in the KJV.

This little "teaching" came in useful today. An outfit called Frontier Alliance International runs "discipleship" programs in Muslim countries like Syria, Iran & Indonesia. They say they want "disciples" not "converts" yet my bible has not one reference to "make disciples" (God's undertaking not mine). However it had numerous references to convert, converted, converteth etc. The Lord gave me discernment enough to "walk circumspectly" in regard to the folks of FAI (turns out they are connected to IHOP) via his word that you brought out here David. Of course "they" did because they are of their father, Satan, who's the father of all liars. There is nothing wrong with KJV. People who say so are the ones with issues.

I got lucky. I took a NT textual criticism class but we used a textbook that supported the "Majority Text Type" similar to Textus Receptus. The author Prof Harry Sturz from Biola came out to lecture us. His textual philosophy was similar to Arthur Farstad and Zane Hodges out of Dallas Theological Seminary. Our syllabus was supplimented by Wilbur Pickering's book criticizing the UBS/Nestle-Aland textual assumptions. I went to Bible Institute in 1982 so we're from the same era.

I went to Bible school. Took an OT Textual CRITICISM class. They taught us HOW to make " textual emendations". This MEANS COME UP WITH YOUR OWN Personal readings. I didn't go to " Bible school" to INVENT THE WORD OF GOD.

Pam Nelson I only use KJV.... I can't go to churches anymore.....I just can't....it grieves my spirit.....so I just live my life and read my Bible..... I get a good amount of fellowship with God's children almost every day in spite of the fact that I've only walked into a church about five times in the last five years....I read the KJV several times cover to cover... it's just fine... it's modern Christianity that's gone Astray.... I don't want to be part of it.

It's a more subtle way of saying "make proselytes" "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves."

A pastor recently said to me as I spoke to him about bible translations. He said "I have no problem with the Received Text, it's ther King James Bible I have problems with". I was stunned for a few seconds. He didn't elaborate on it but I did think it was a strange comment.

God bless you brother David and once again your videos are a great blessing for us, Colombian people who love the KJV and RVG 2010. We’d love to get more RVG bibles in Spanish. Could you please help us? The whole Congregation where I attend loves the real words of God and as our native language is Spanish and not everyone can read in English in our church, we would like to get many RVG versions.

The Jehovah's witnesses had their New world Translation revised by Westcott and Hort who was known as witches or conjuring up ghost so in 2013 the witnesses came up with a new biblical translation that separated them from Westcott and Hort. That's when I left that organization because God don't change his holy text... I do wish I could read Greek or Hebrew to see the awesome original text. Great teaching videos👏👏

Sadly most Christians run across today reject the KJV, most include in their thinking a unity angle for accepting all the versions. They get their feathers raised when give sound reasoning on the issue.

MATTHEW 28:18-20 (KJV and NRSV) And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

I finally switched over to KJV after reading 1 John 5:7 and not finding it in the NSAB. I am struggling a little with the you, ye, thou, thy, thine and ere and I pray thee, but that is bc I have been reading all these tranlations for years except the NIV.

I did not have that experience in Bible College, but there was a common joke that the NIV was the “nearly inspired version.” Everyone preferred more literal translations like the NKJV, ESV, and probably the KJV as well, but I didn’t know anyone who used the KJV.

Another excellent video commentary! God bless you, brother. I think “they” wanted “make disciples” because it’s a push to gather followers that will pay tithe and offering and etc.-i.e., make the church rich (and we know which church Hort et al were really working for)-and build up their “army” of believers in false doctrine. But “teach” is exactly as you said so eloquently, and for the correct purposes.

I always took it as a figure of speech like " Lets get out there and save some souls !" It is not to be taken literally.
@nicholas3354
@nicholas3354 5 жыл бұрын
It is definitely to be taken literally. The word translated "disciple" is more accurately student. The 11 (12 minus Judas) were told to make students of all cultures. It is noteworthy that it was the 11 who were told, but about 500 people encountered Jesus after His resurrection. The word translated "nations" really means people of the same lifestyle, in a cultural sense. As for the claim that Mathew 28: 19 says to teach and does not say to make students/disciples; that is a flat out lie.

Even our pastor at church will say King James also. He told me that there are wordings in the KJV of the bible that are too hard to understand in modern days, thus the NIV became very popular, but he admitted that the NIV contains a lot of missing verses?
