SUMMARY:
- However surprising it may be, people nowadays prefer to get from A to B without any unnecessary stops.
- The first long-haul flight took place 18 years ago! On March 1, 2001, Continental Airlines had its first non-stop trip covering a distance of 7,332 miles.
- Nowadays, the champion of long-haul travel is Singapore Airlines with their flight from Newark to Singapore. Just imagine: the longest commercial flight in the world lasts 18 hours and 45 minutes and covers a distance of 9,528 miles!
- There are no economy passengers on these flights. Business passengers occupy 67 seats, and 94 cater those in premium economy.
- Qantas Airways is planning to start non-stop flights between Sydney and London by 2022. This idea has been dubbed "Project Sunrise."
- Qantas is planning to tempt travelers with a sleeping berth situated in the plane's cargo hold. Plus, there will be an onboard gym for some in-flight exercise. You’ll also have an opportunity to relax after your workout at an onboard bar!
- A new solution suggested by Italian aviation designers might be the key to even cheaper airfare. At first sight, Skyrider 2.0, the latest airplane seat, looks pretty uncomfortable.
- Some of the longest flights in the world may vary from season to season and often depend on weather, airport traffic, and climate conditions. But that doesn’t change the fact that passengers have to spend lots and lots of hours sitting on a plane.

BRIGHT SIDE Actually the A350-900ULR has a range of 9700nm (nautical miles) not miles. 9700 nautical miles is equivalent to 17964km. Just flew the worlds longest flight on SQ21 from Newark to Singapore.

Why do people do that on *every* flight....? It makes no sense....we’ve all been sitting, we can all sit for 15-20 additional minutes. Just ridiculous. It causes anger, rushing, and sometimes injuries.

2:45 planes don't do pitstop, pitstop is for racing plane just land. Also 22 hour WR non comercial flight has flown by 777-200LR. And usually plane that go from USA to Asia fly west not east

Hello I’ve never met you before but I'm Australian, But I live in the northeast of America, because my dad got a job there. I love Australia so I will make a pit stop first going to California, next I will go straight to Sydney Australia, which is about 16 hours, and it isn’t really hard or bad... it’s normal for us, we visit our family (It’s fine for me cause I'm gonna use as much gaming time as I want) Edit: thx for 1 like 👍

I travelled with 16hr legs in my trip routinely in the 80's and 90's by 747. If you are Asian (Indian, Chinese) or Australian, this was routine to you too.

Roosevelt roads Puerto Rico to Jacksonville. Fl. 9+ hours in an amphibian twin engine. Couldn't hear anything for two days. In the Navy. 1200 miles at 280 mph. No real restroom either.

My dad is a pilot for American airlines, he flies weekly from Dallas Fort Worth to Beijing China, it's about 15 hours and they fly over Alaska, and sometimes close to the north pole to get there

Because of the nature of my work, I have always been traveling the long-haul flight from Asia to a state in the USA. I have had a direct flight from LAX Airport in LA, California to NAIA airport in Manila, Philippines through Philippine Airlines which lasted for 16 hours.

Have done Wellington NZ to London via Helsinki !!! But usually Emirates Auckland to Dubai and then on to London. Longest in the air was 38 hrs but normally 29-32 hours.

Recently went to LA from SG via SQ and back. Not bad at all. I didn’t feel jetlagged or tired at all. And i chose the 2 seat at the rear. So it feels business class in a way. Lol

ganesh pv I wish but u don’t get service when ur 7 miles up in the air and if u do it’s bc ur flying over a major city and it will still be 1 bar 3g extended, (which is not enough to even load KZfaqs home page, much less render a video) and it will last for like 15 seconds. At least if your flying frontier airlines where the seats feel like a spike chair, there is no ac, you have to pay for WATER, and they don’t have WiFi, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut if you fly jet blue you get FREE WiFi, movies, and food. Yeh JetBlue is lit.

I am an American living in Germany so when I go to the States I need 12 hours usually going to and a bit more coming home (Germany). If you are going on an overseas flight bring a book or three. Really, cannot stress this enough!

Year 2016. (Emirates) From Dubai to Los Angeles, 16 Hrs 20 mins (Non - Stop). Then (Emirates) New York to Dubai, 12 Hrs 30 mins (Non - Stop). I like to travel and see the reality. The dream images on real, that's amazing...!

I have done two of the longest flights in the world (La to Sydney 15 hrs and La to Singapore for 17 hours) it is honestly not that bad. You eat, sleep, watch a movie, eat and drink again, then it's landing time. I love long flights as it gives you time to relax

I had a kid kick my seat an entire 3 hour flight. Honestly, if it was a longer flight and I didn't keep falling asleep, I would've probably had a meltdown. Also annoyed me because when we were deplaning, I saw the kid was actually pretty old and definitely should have known not to kick a seat

Did you know the military is 10x technologically advanced than the civilian counterpart. They had the first prototype teleportation on the navy vessel in ww2, using two high powered Tesla coils. Effectively at one point fusing the skeleton crew on board with the metal on the ship when it went wrong, hence it being a prototype. The suppressed teleportation tech now is much much more advanced, just that we are not meant to know about it, unless you really dig deep.

My long-haul flight was on Wizzair from Sofia, Bulgaria to Barcelona El Prat. I was going to visit my grandpa in Bulgaria then I went to Barca.

I went from Melbourne to london it wasn't direct but from our one stop in the which was Bandar Seri bagawan in Brunei to london was a 17 hour flight.

I am not a big fan of long flights. 8-12 hours are much better and enjoyable then longer flights.
