OK so UPDATE i figured out how to put the barrels in the truck took me a minute but i got it 🤣

I have used the truck as a base before and a good trick when logging off is to bury the crates with the most valuable loot :)

I wish we had the uncovered version of the v3s, maybe less storage in exchange for being able to carry a lot of people

I roll in a mobile base all the time in Livonia, I pick a main camp in the woods I build a flagpole for a few improvised shelters and some priority loot and I basically roam the map in my truck, no building. For the attention and damage a base attracts it's too labor-intensive to repeatedly rebuild especially if you run Lone Wolf

Barrels can hold loot inside truck!!! Place the barrel as close as poss to the rear of truck, open the barrel and put what you need inside the barrel, close it. Then go on your inventory and manually drag the barrel from the floor to the barrel slot in the truck and hey presto... To remove just hold the drop button over the barrel in the truck inventory, the barrel will drop out but will have to empty the barrel to move it. Hope this helps 🙏 ☺

I’ve been using a truck for the past month to help me build a big base, and for that they’re absolutely essential. Chopping down trees and then cutting the logs into planks is too resource and time consuming for large bases, you need a truck to haul as many planks as possible from those timber pallet spawns at the lumber yards. Quick tip is to always keep the truck in 4th gear, it takes off like a rocket in 4th but a snail in 1st (pretty sure it’s a bug)

Trucks are also practically immortal when it comes to wrecks. In my own server I've wrecked it dozens of times, lots of ruined parts but as long as the fuel tank battery and engine are unharmed you can drive forever

i think the speed should be increased BUT be lowered depending on how full the truck storage is

I hate when they fly away :( I wish the devs would fix the bugs before any new content.

Hey marks the way you get things in a barrel in the truck is by putting the barrel right behind the truck, fill the barrel with items and in the inventory drag the closed barrel into the truck’s barrel slot

The "work around" is to open the lid of the barrel first, THEN attach it to the truck. That's how it currently works in 1.13, so I don't know if it will change or not in 1.14

Those are normally a good score if you find them up north stored with hella loot even better if they left the battery and just steal everything

To store a barrel with items in the slots, make sure the barrel is closed and get it as close to the back of the truck as possible. Then just drop the barrels into the slots like you would move any inventory item from one place to another, using the inventory screen. Works a charm.

You put the barrel behind the truck then put everything inside. Then you grab the barrel from tab menu and drag it into the slot. I have done this many times just doing loot runs and taking everything to the trader or your base. Never thought of just using the truck as a permanent base. Cool idea.

Work around is, you place barrel on floor at rear of truck, open barrel, add items to barrel, close barrel then drag barrel to truck inventory slot, works same with crates and the 600 truck inventory slot, can fill crates , chests and barrels first, love the vids 👍🏻

I'm a new player, I'm playing solo on my own server just to get to grips with the game. I too think this truck base will be a great idea to get to know more about other locations in the game. Just gotta find one now!!

Once your Barrel is full back the truck up to it and load it manually through menu, you cannot add or remove things from the barrel once they are on the truck

Take the barrel out and fill it up then use the vicinity button and put the barrel in the open slot for it in the truck. It works really easy on console.

i remember having a M3S in one of those short barns and it was very nice and convenient up and till it legit teleported to the roof lol

It's a pretty good idea if ya don't feel like building too much. Especially on the Livonia map. Lots of places to hide it that are farther away from loot routes. I have used different cars and one of these as mobile bases on different servers. Only drawback is on some of the servers I've played the cars will reset if they aren't used every 2 or 4 hours even though ya have your flag up. I would say it just depends on the server as to whether this is a good idea or not. I can tell ya from experience it's a real bummer to have a truck fully stocked with gear only to log back on and it's gone, not lost to bandits but to the orignal spawn point. Great vids! Blue or green Ada... hides in a bush, holds everything you need. Fits in a car tent. Just add a few gates, and it's as secure as you'll be without building on a loot spawn.

hey guy. i can show you how to get 2,800 slots in a m3s if you want. and you just need to open the barrels BEFORE you drag them into place in the truck. and seeing as how I kinda suck at base building this is usually my go to method of having a base. added to this is the fact that i usually tend to help ppl out if they need something transported so i tend to meet a lot of cool ppl doing this as well.

I remember when me and my friends got a whole truck completely full of all the building materials and he next day a massive base was built down the road and they took our truck and put it inside😂

it would be a great vehicle for moving stuff around between my buried stashes or making new ones, i don't build bases i might build a small shed in the side of an industrial building as a stash, a place too deposit gear if i don't have any dry sacks or sea chests to bury yet

I mostly play on a server with a few friends & others from my discord, and we have a territory control system, so there are 2 settlements on the map where most of the players live, and the way we keep peace is trade routes. My roll in the server is a convoy driver, I drive the M3S; We often times set camp near the settlement we are trading too, as we are aren't loyal to one specific Settlement to avoid conflict. The M3S makes this super fun and easy as we can deploy a camp for all 6 members of the convoy in a few minutes, without it, it would take so long to do, having to cut trees, and gather some resources.

So what you do is you drop the barrel in the back of the truck put things in the barrel and make sure the trucks backed up to the barrel and you can swipe the barrel into the truck

I'm still looking round for some more wheels I know you can combine the single ones to make double but so far nothing on the wrecks I've gone for. I need 2 doors and 2 double wheels for better movement and cabin protection. Hopefully get them today. I've also locked down a base and made watchtowers put camo nets on with barbed wire, also a full metal airlock on a shed with more barbed wire and 2x4 dial gates. Flag is up and building bits each time but now I can fill the truck with wood it already helped me get a generator and stones back to the base.

If you think about it in the trailer for the previous update where they showed off the convoy of these trucks they technically hinted at this upcoming update with the gas zones because in that trailer all the convoy people were wearing full NBC Hazmat gear and it seemed like they had the vibe of a mobile base.

Good video as always Marks 👍 I would like to see the other variants of the truck added to the game where you could have team mates sit in the back, in 1.10 exp when the M3S was released the chassis and cargo variant were in and didn't require much to finish apart from the geometry. You put the crates out. And then put Loot in or out. Then You place it on the truck slot. Same as for barrels. You can place barrels with Loot inside the slots as long it's near

Plus the wrench locks items in place now which is good. But having keys or something would be nice. Some one told me you can lock generic car wreck doors with lockpicks already in vanilla.

There are mods on PC that ive seen and used for the vehicles like the car lockpick, its like lockpick but used with cars and locks and unlocks cars helis and atvs and every vehicle and in some servers you can loot one and sell like 50,000 rubbles or only buy from black market. It usually has like 3 uses, meaning if you buy a car lockpick, you can unlock 3 times a vehicle with it until it goes ruined and it cant be fixed and theres also a car cover wich is a blue tarp or green camo net, depends on the server and mod, it is required to use on a car/vehicle, even helicopter to conseal and cloak buts also it cancels the automatic vehicle despawn system that happens like every 1h, 3h or 6h, depends on the settings

The M3S is a beast. This thing is nearly indistructible, at least when you drive it. I hit a wall, at 44 km/h, by accident and no damage. Store the barrels with their lids open and you can store items in them.

Place barrel at rear of truck, open barrel, fill barrel with loot, close barrel, drag and drop barrel in to truck.

Done before, the way to get loot into the barrels, take the barrel out at the back of the truck put loot into the barrel then drag the barrel back into the truck.

1. People just park a car or a truck next to the fences if its fenced of jump in and dismantle the fences from the inside. 2. Place the barrel right behind the truck, put all your stuff in you want in, and just drag the barrel from the vicinity into the barrel slot

cars need camo option like tents.I think you have to stand at back of truck to access the barrels.

You put the barrel at the back of the truck fill it and load it. Close the lid and with the vicinity button (touchpad on controller) highlight it hold X go to barrel slot let go of X. Barrel should go in slot while loaded.

Take the barrel out of the truck fill it and then put it back in the truck that's how you're going to work around that. You have to take the lid off and add in to it..hope that helps..

i dont use a base i use a small green tent in a certain bush in a certain place..............i fill it up with crates not had tent found yet in over a year........i have 5 crates full of ammo..+ 30 or so crates with guns meds food 1000+nails.....and that is just one server out of the five i play on (all with same tent same location diff gear)

The problem is that if someone damages the vehicle it will despawn. So, probably a bad idea.

Enough comments explaining how to add gear into a barrel and then into the truck. If ya cant figure it out maybe you should drive a gunther. Trucks have their ups and downs as a base. The more you keep taking the wheels off and on, the higher the chance it becomes pyscho and starts doing gymnastics. I shoot out the windshield as the glass is inherently foggy so without a windshield, the clarity is perfect. That being said, id like to see some drag races at the NWAF or a rural american favorite, the demolition derby.

I play on official xbox and found 2 trucks and parked them in the woods in the far mid North west and im pretty sure they both spawned in somewhere else bc i have 2 cars that are very close and they are still there.They only was there for like 4 hours

Absolutely amazing content loved everything I think the trucks are amazing too I use them all the time but I would like it if you could put people in the back of the truck as well so you don't have to have get a vehicle to follow the truck around adjustable four of you two in the front to the back that's what I would like to see

Most of the time if a car or Truck DE spawns it's because it had a damaged part on it, how do you keep someone from Driving off in your Truck while you're in a Town looting?

Yo you have to take the barrels out of the truck put the loot in the barrels then attach the barrels back on the truck but the barrels haft to be at the back so you can swipe in form the inventory as you now you can’t pick up the barrels withe loot in it cheers

Who else tried to move the view while they were building to check for ambushers? I play on Existence RP community server and there at least there are camo nets (to reduce server load) and keys for the vehicles, so you can secure them.

the reason you cant add anything into the barrels i believe is because they are closed and im not sure if you can open them whilst they are in the truck

i take it you have never seen a truck turn into a plane trucks despawn, fly, and can be easily broken or stolen, and is a homing beacon to anyone close when its moving cars are good for quick transport, thats it

You can glitch the truck into the 3rd floor of the prison on Livonia as I recently have learned from experience...

I'd prefer Lada, because I don't really care about loot (unless some very specific items like AK-74s or salty sticks), it is faster than the truck, it's more compact (I would be able to hide it in one of those wooden sheds in the most northern point of Gorka), even more offroad than truck and I can carry more people.

I'm just used to the trucks from old dayz (arma2) and the other vehicles aren't interesting me in any way. Back then I used them for mobile storage as well. Still haven't found one in standalone yet.

Having open barrels in an M3S truck is possible, drop them round the back of the truck, open them, then through the Vicinity tab in your inventory you grab onto the “Barrel” text and place it in the M3S. Hope that helps someone!

To put things in barrels Take off truck.. and open barrel … then put back on truck ,

The barrels have to be open to put items in them. Same as when you put them on the roof of Land Rover Defender
