As a Wolves fan, I'd say the biggest reason for the turnaround is..... DLO is off the team.

Mike can unlock Rudy in ways DLo never could. And doesn’t want his own 15 shots per game as much which provides more space for other mouths to feed

Gobert had a nagging back injury last season, and is now fully Healthy. Him being healthy is the main reason they are the number 1 defense. It's not the coaching, it's Gobert. The dude is a 3 times DPOY and put Utah in top 5 defense rankings every year, playing with 4 traffic cones.

Watched the whole video, and as a Timberwolves fan I gotta say I agree that they have significantly improved and certainly will be successful this season 💯

Two words - Mike Conley... his maturity and veteran presence I believe is the major reason the Wolves have stayed level-headed during this entire season. Look at what happened to Utah after he was traded last year. DLo is no question can be a offensive flamethrower, but Conley is a better mesh player and gets everyone going and involved while keeping the Towns and Edwards calm. Plus adding in NAW in that trade is the icing on the cake for a guy with a nonstop motor. Towns' demeaner has been far improved when calls or plays not going his way... I think Mike is the reason why, and the coaching staff recognizing how to keep KAT in check. Level KAT is a beast.

ANT taking a step up to another level with mid-range and defense and Conley as point guard has been huge, but also having KAT starting to take off and Gobert playing to the level of defensive player of the year again plus Naz Reid and Kyle Anderson, Jaden McDaniels has brought together a good offensive and defensive combo. Worse part of Wolves last couple of years has been not playing defense but they seem to have turned that around this year finally. They are shutting down some pretty high scoring teams.

I think it's funny how people expect instant success in basketball. Everyone called the Gobert trade a failure because the Wolves didn't make the playoffs. But Basketball is a sport that requires chemistry with all of the players. Gobert is coming to a new team and he has to learn the play styles of all new teammates and they have to learn about his playstyle. THEN KAT gets hurt and is out 50+ games. DLO wasn't the right fit and the first step toward success with this 2 big lineup was getting Conley. Then a 2nd offseason to build chemistry and having KAT back for the team to figure out how to use them efficiently. I hate how people jump to make conclusions that look incredibly dumb 6 months later.

One slight correction, the Timberwolves did make the playoffs. Granted they lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round without Naz and Jaden, but other than that, I agree with you.
