A design inaccuracy with your model. The V1 and its piloted version are pulsejet powered. Unlike traditional jet engines, pulsejets don’t have turbines inside the engine. Instead, pulsejets fire in spurts. The side effect makes the jet create a unique and incredibly loud noise, giving the V1 its iconic nickname, The Buzz Bomb.

Everything ive ever read has never suggested these were designed to be suicide attacks. The pilots were supposed to bail out, although it would be very difficult to do in practice. The Luftwaffe didnt like the idea of suicide attacks as a principle. It was desperation. The V1s were pulse jet, not turbine or rocket The first organised Kamikaze attacks were after DDay, so the Germans couldnt have been inspired by them before that

Would not an pulsejet be perfect for the Oka? As I understand the Oka had limited range as in around 40 km because solid fuel rockets, this was to close to the fighter screen so the bombers tend to be shot down. Yes you also need target id but you could use fast fighters for that.

one fun(?) fact about the Japanese Ocka suicide rocket plane: the impact detonator was too stiff and the connection between the warhead and the plane was poorly built (thus intergrally too weak) so when those kamikaze fleet rammed the american ship, the japanese pilot usually get crushed to death instently wile the warhead tend to snap off the crushed flat fuselage and dash off after punshing a hole on the other side of the ship above waterline, and all the american ship end up getting is some damage super structure plus a fresh human shape patty for those sailors whom crave for burgers :P

The Fieseler was insane. It's not like Germany, Prussia or the Teutonic Knights have a culture of honor-driven ritualistic suicide like Japan has with seppuku, but they still managed to get fanatics to volunteer. The Ohka was an understandable development for Japan, they did kamikaze runs with regular aircraft like the Mitsubishi A6M Zero or Nakajima Ki-43 Oscar loaded with extra munitions for more damage, so a purpose-built kamikaze plane isn't too far out of left field. Also, 1% survival rate? Modern-day gacha players would take those odds.🤣1

I had spoken with Hanna Reisch at the early 70th about this topic. The Reichenberg was designed as testbed for improving the Fi103.There were plans to give it steering ability and improve its accuracy. It was never meand for suicide actions. Some verry entusiasticly joung man asked about the possibility to use the Reichenberg in this way, So they start a Selbstaufopferungsgruppe, but this idea was not liked among the officers. Not a single Reichenberg was used in combat only in testflights.

It killed many test pilots till Hana Reich successfully flew one and managed to survive the flight to tell the designers why it was crashing. This was NEVER A SUICIDE WEAPON. That's just click bait. Go to the short videos on KZfaq labeled OPERATION CROSSBOW. They tell exactly what this was designed for. The whole Hollywood movie is actually is very good. Its based on Fact.

It was just a waste of life as these pilots were brainwashed to be killed and ever return like a Sakura flower as it falls down the tree. Upon learning of the Ohka, I could never get over how it's silhouette--both overhead and in side profile--strongly resembles that of the A-10 "Warthog". Now, seeing this plane's trainer variants--with their forward cockpit placement--I can't help wonder if a design for a plane like the Warthog had been on file for years, but was overlooked & passed-over based on the how the future of military air power was seen as simply being "higher & faster"... with older prop planes being designated for ground control attacks, since such missions require long loiter times and high payload capacity. That is, until an aging fleet, along with the Vietnam war... and rumors of Soviet tank development... pushed need for the likes of the A-10.

This had just as much a chance of winning the war for Germany as the ME-262 did.....absloutley f@£k all chance of winning or changing the course of the war.....title of video is clickbait...NONE of the so called "Wonder Weapons" had a snowballs chance in hell@@anrw886

yet another weapon that had literally NO chance of delaying the war's outcome. Just like the failed Japanese Ohka. If anything it accelerated the war's end by diverting precious german resources.

I'm so glad I got home from a crappy day at work, and I see this was uploaded! And it's a secret WWII weapon! Best way to relax and de-stress 👌🏼

"almost won the war" is a strong exaggeration for a concept with 0 combat. to prove its feasibility Well, at least the video did not claim to totally change my life.
