Unveiled

5 жыл бұрын

While NASA makes headlines for exploring space, NOAA has been exploring the ocean... And discovering the mysteries of the deep. The oceans account for 99% of Earth's total living space, with 321 million cubic miles of water! And yet, we still no so little about them! But, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, there are good reasons why we haven't ventured to the bottom of the sea...
In this video, Unveiled finds out why we haven't fully explored the ocean yet. What do you think? Why are the mysteries of the sea still unsolved?
This is Unveiled, giving you incredible answers to extraordinary questions!

The literal answer is pretty simple it's not a good one either it's because scientists tend to only want to learn about space if we can build technology that can theoretically go to another galaxy for building a rocket that can get us to Mars pretty fast then it's evident that we obviously have the technology for the ocean but for whatever reason that scientists are only smart when it comes to science and completely stupidly just ignore the ocean at this point we have the technology it doesn't make sense because just like the ocean that is a place with no man is able to go which should strike their interest just like space but it doesn't

hey don't it defy's logic, in the time it would take humans to evolve into mermaids another ice age would hit killing most marine life in the tropics the ideal environment for humans to evolve into mermaids, and if they did evolve into marine mammals it would look alot different from what you think it would look like, and even with editing our genetics and turning our self's into mermaids, we would suffer we would look more like manatees but with a human face because remember we are mammals and most mammals don't have scales, so please rethink that statement this is what happens when we let our imagination go wild its good for creating books and fables just not making statements on science. i copyed and pasted it from my other comment because i don't want to type another paragraph

@@vailix9627 The ocean isn't going anywhere but the universe is, it expands every second by second and plus the 6% is just a percentage that we know about our universe, perhaps our galaxy itself, in whole we have a less percentage that we know about space. With the expansion of the universe with it dark energy , we most of the time explore emptiness and there will be time that it's just emptiness left to explore. People still can explore deep ocean and come up with new theories everyday, hell, maybe perhaps in there would subjects in university which gives special education about the ocean itself, like astronomy and astrophysics teaches us about space, my point is that people shouldn't dumb space because there is something in earth that never leaves isn't explored. We have to explore both in order to be an advanced species

Even if we wanted to explore the deep ocean we still can't because we don't have technology that can handle the high water pressure and the density. Plus, even though we explored 5% of the ocean and 95% out their unexplored, outerspace doesn't have a specific number. All we know is that plants, dwarf plants, blackhole, stars and asteroid exits. We just only know 6% of this universe, infact, 6% of the galaxy itself, so in basic terms, we know about 0.06% of the universe is explored or even more less. So far what we explored in space is just absolute emptiness, the universe always expands by second by second, and more the explosion go, the more emptiness is found until you have nothing to explore and end up with 6% for the rest of enternal life. The ocean can't go anywhere, it's in the earth forever and ever, but the universe isn't, it expands every second you know.

Hot take: this exploration of “out there” (space) instead of studying “inside” (beneath sea level) is a metaphor for how society would rather question each other instead of looking inwardly and questioning one’s self. From a jungian perspective, I’d argue it’s indicative of the human collective consciousness that we still haven’t done enough investigation of the soul, which is why we are psychologically unprepared to see what is at the bottom of the ocean.

Well, we can't go too deep underwater because of the pressure. Without a hard-suit or being inside a submarine, we can only handle about 3 to 5 bars, that's 3 to 5 times the atmospheric pressure at sea level. Also, when you experience such pressures, you can't come back up too quickly as decompression sickness is sure to set in if you do. This means a maximum depth of 40 meters.

It's the present nature of many humans to look outward for answers instead of inwards, and the obsession with space exploration over ocean exploration seems to mirror that. Many are conditioned that what's inside is ugly, fearful, and needs to remain hidden, and must be covered up with an "acceptable" exterior. This is also evident in people searching outside themselves for answers, e.g. all addictions and unproductive attention sucking activities. Also, I think space exploration over ocean exploration illustrates a bigger issue, in that we like to escape our problems instead of dealing with them. More ocean exploration would necessitate us to learn to respect the ocean and its power in order to explore and understand it. Some of us seemingly rather marvel at our own "power" of space exploration and all the things we had to build to do it as some kind of pinnacle of human existence. Building machines doesn't make you more human, just makes you a machine building human. Trillions of dollars spent globally on building machines for space exploration and weapons while people on this planet starve, die of thirst, and have no homes. Funny, isn't it?

Discoveries & exploration underwater is beyond important and I know I would be enthused about it regardless of risk , we must evolve and if we wont do it who will .. but i do feel as if anything found in the water could just make things better or help us in certain ways while exploration of space could help us understand origin and meaning of life and yes, we could encounter extra terrestrial life that could show us thing we couldn't comprehend in time , its hard because both are so important

Both outer space and underwater exploration are hard. Space has a number of advantages though. 1. We can see things easily. Telescopes and other detectors of other energies can show us a lot without leaving land. 2. Money can be made there. Low Earth orbit is being exploited to the tune of billions of dollars yearly. 3. The Space Race made space sexy. Although that has died back since we left the Moon, it seems to be revving back up. Exploring the oceans just isn't that sexy. 4. Private industry is getting into the act, and people think that is a good thing. Underwater is being exploited by the oil companies and most people think that is bad. 5. NASA has made a big deal about all the technological advancements space exploration has brought us and how much that has impacted the average American's life. Ocean exploration hasn't. I'm sure there are many other reasons; these are just a few that I was able to type up after a few moment's thought.
@chaosryans
@chaosryans 5 жыл бұрын
Water exploration just affects finding new species and lost vessels and oil. Very limited market indeed. Space has been a lost one for a long time too since its not profitable for most besides technology. Sending food costs 10's of thousands of dollars so actual space exploration is almost strictly limited to unmanned drones and satellites. However for earth communication satellites have revolutionized the industry. Which is why basically nobody has ever really bothered to send anything besides satellites to space in decades. (Yes telescopes, a space station, and a few other things) but most of that has been less "profitable" space exploration will slow again when/if they decide to try sending people to mars and they all die.

A good place to start is to explore ancient ice age coastlines, at the estimated 400 foot line. This way, we get both sea floor data, and discover ancient cities. Just start in a temperate latitude (ice age climate). We'll find more of our true history. Once the coastlines are explored, then work our way outward, to the true deep seas.

In regard of the bloup sound, i think it is possible to know if it was a monster or ice moving. If the ice stars moving again we could send a team that is at the same distance underneed the oceaan. Then you can simpely tell if it was a monster or just ice moving. ( offcourse it matters how big the chunks off ice are, but we can just make a start and move our way up by measuring bigger amount of ice )
