Күн бұрын

The Philippines, a tropical archipelago in the Pacific Ring of Fire, has seen a significant rise in its foreign reserves, reaching a remarkable $99.8 billion as of 2023, despite facing trade deficits. This financial resilience is attributed to its booming BPO sector, remittances from overseas Filipino workers, prudent monetary policies by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and its strategic geopolitical role in Southeast Asia. Engaging in dynamic trade collaborations, like China's Belt and Road Project, and a surge in the service and tourism sectors have further bolstered its economic growth. As a result, the nation attracts substantial Foreign Direct Investments, showcasing a promising annual GDP growth and robust economic diversification. Join us as we delve into the reasons behind the Philippines' economic rise and its thriving foreign reserves. Like, comment, and subscribe our channel for more in-depth coverage of global economies and geopolitics. Watch complete video and do not forget to visit our channel for more interesting videos.

As an American living in the Philippines I really appreciate some of the laws you have that protects the Filipino people. Not allowing foreigners to owning property keeps the Filipinos owning the land but also stifles investing in the country. That said I love living here in the Philippines and the people are so friendly and welcoming.

Some corporations can now be owned 100% by foreigners. Corporations can own land. Individual foreigners cannot own land in the Philippines. Foreigners can own condominium properties provided that only up to 40% of the condo building is owned by foreigners.

❤Filipinos are one of the most loving, compassionate, hard working race in the world. They are sadly exploited, undervalued, and bullied by many races however they stay humble and resilient.. this is why God blesses them even more. I'd compare Filipinos, along with other Asian neighbors such as Cambodians and Thai people, as the Israelites of Asia..❤

According to Pew Research Center in the USA, the average household income of Filipinos was $90,400. The average American household income was only $61,800 in the same year. If I adjust the numbers for inflation, the 2023 income is now, $108,926 per year...Six figures! They are ahead of all other ethnic groups in the country. So, Filipinos, on average are not very exploited in the US. Are there exceptions? I'm sure. Frankly, I just think of Filipino's as champs. We have two champ wives that are anchors in our family and many friends. They have made a big impact indeed.

@@macolet9711As far as I know, inflation is worldwide. May mga factors worldwide kaya nagkakainflation. Isa na diyan ang gasolina. We are importing it and the price depends on its worldwide price. At kapag mahal ito, magmamahal din ang mga products na gumagamit nito. Halos lahat yata ng bansa nakakaranas ng inflation. Even the rich countries. Argentina nga if I'm not mistaken, nasa 100% plus ang inflation nila. Another one is the aftermath of pandemic. Nagri-recover pa ang buong mundo because of it.

It is also noteworthy that "call center agents" are the new heroes alongside OFW. Number show that BPO contributions have double digit increase compare to OFW remittances single digit increase which is remarkablably slower than previous year. As of 2022, $30-B up 10% vs $34-B up 5% , the once 'lowly' call center agents will soon take over. PS, wag na sana hamakin ang propesyon na yan. Kesyo 'sayang' daw ang pinag aralan. I see the same challenge sa mga ofw natin before.

BPO itself isn't only comprises of call center agents, there are also financial professionals like accountants, depends on the business that is outsourced (medical, legal, financial, IT). the great reason why the Philippine Peso stays stronger against US dollar is the balanced Salary Standard of Employees, unlike most of the Asian countries who have been suffering huge depreciation of their respective currency due to their citizens don't have capability to spend more... more purchased, mire taxes. I have been monitoring the currency depreciation of Central Asian countries and comparing the Philippines movements of currency, and here is my Testament,..... on mid 1990s these 4 countries in Central Asia and the Philippines had the same Value of Exchange to US dollar but these days these 4 countries of Central Asia evaluated there money 5 to 8 Times than the Philippine Peso. In Central Asia the price of 1-kilo is ranging from 150 to 200 In Philippines, 35 to 60 per kilo. Philippines doesn't devaluate its money,

Correction, ph only has $99 billion in foreign reserves as the video said, but look at our asean neighbors, malaysia has $112 billion foreign reserves, indonesia has $135 billion foreign reserves, thailand has $212 billion foreign reserves and freaking tiny singapore has a whopping $460 billion foreign reserves. So the video is misleading the filipinos into thinking that ph is like this super country when in reality our country is slowly getting left behind in asean. And lastly pretty soon vietnam is going to overtake us in terms of foreign reserves because vietnam growth is just amazing, vietnam has already surppassed the philippines in gdp abd in terms of foreign direct investment vietnam leaves the philipines in the dust, so yea this video is misleading to filipinos.

The "systems" in political and economic terms are not good at all. The process to do anything (find job, apply to edu, apply for ID, set up business etc.) is absolutely shite. Why Philippines has so much foreign reserve mostly US dollars? When Federal reserve increase interest rates inflation is being export to the other countries. US currency becomes strong compares to other countries. Since Foreign trades are done in US dollars it will take more Pesos or other currency to acquire the US dollars. As the interest goes up because of the FED policy there will be a massive demand for US dollars around the world.

we are poor because of our culture, we don't have big sentiments in business like the Chinese or the Japanese and lots of poor simply goes what's easily available (ex. being a vendor of any kind / there is no thinking outside the box and very little innovation) or just farm, as a poor myself. and the government right now is not centrally focused in agriculture. thus as a poor we will have to work on double or triple to achieve a yearly income that's comparable to a baseline rich (a million per year) .

We still need to Police Government Corruption. As the country grows the more crocodiles will eat. Therefore create laws that make it harder on loop holes and punishable by years in jail or death penalty. We need that deterrent so there afraid to do it.
