The PlayStation 3 is so great. It was an ambitious console for its time, but it was also a blueprint for even better PS4 and PS5. Another thing that I loved about the PS3 was the number of remastered PS2 games that made use of the consoles powerful engine. I love playing Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Prince of Persia, Tomb Raider, and Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on the PS3

COMPLETELY agree! It set the tone for the next generation, it may have started slow but over time people began to appreciate the PS3

@PinchSoft I thought ps4 would follow in the footsteps of backwards compatibility and tons of games and free internet at the time but now looking we realize how spoiled we were then

I have a PS3 already and always take it upon myself to delid the console to clean out the dust and replace the thermal paste. It's really not that hard to do. The alternative to not learning how to delid a PS3 to give it a good cleaning or having a friend/family member do it for you is to pay a repair shop or something to do it for you. Going this route might be pretty expensive for a simple task that could've been self-taught and done at home

where can I get a ps3 that's been delided and has new thermalpaste?

Most of the ones I found are available on eBay, they're pretty expensive though from what I've seen. There's also some companies that sell like DKOldies HOWEVER they have a terrible reputation so I don't recommend it. If you're looking to get one I'd probably stick to eBay and search up something like "delidded refurbished PS3" something like that :)

It’s better just to invest in the expensive cost of a Frankenstein ps3. I have a launch model with a 40nm gpu
