Why The RFB Still Dominates Late Wipe

The RFB is still amazing late wipe! Today we show how the RFB continues to perform into the late-game of patch 12.12 as a budget PMC killer if you play to its strengths. With 7.62 NATO being the meta round and M80 affordable and accessible early from Peacekeeper 2, the RFB still looks like an amazing choice of weapon to be competitive in Tarkov right now.
After success through the most recent trader event, I took our original RFB back to Lighthouse to continue learning the map and completing quests. Little did I know that this weapon would carry me through SO many raids, performing again and again, along with some tactics and luck.
This is probably the most complex edit that I have put together to date, so I really hope you enjoy the video and let me know what you thought down in the comments!

I 100% had the same reasons for not playing lighthouse alot, low fps, not important for quests, too many deaths as a bear from aimbot-rogues. It's a unique map experience though and has its perks

I never go as my PMC (BEAR), and instead just run through as a SCAV picking up the loot off of dead rogues and PMC who got too close. Easy gear and easy money

get a better toaster, go nighttime and learn the sightlines, aswell as actually use smoke grenades and none of those are a problem.

The RFB might be my favorite gun in this game, I can't deny that I have some of my best raids and can wipe whole teams with that thing. And if I die and lose it, who cares! It's crazy cheap. Might not be as flashy or modular as a SR-25, but its treated me so right this wipe and I love it for that.

Keep in mind that the RFB also accepts 30-round magazines, Gigabeef. It's something I often forget and it's gotten me killed in CQB before.

I did buy some but just didn't use them in the end. Never felt like I needed them - I think that's because I'm an SR-25 user rather than M1A enjoyer so got used to the smaller mag capacity

3:50 I read a theory on the EFT subreddit that I just love so much, where the whole Tarkov situation is actually an experiment by Terragroup, and your PMC's are actually just super-human clones so every time you die you just become another clone. Then you don't need to buy another account every time you die. ;) On another note, it would also explain why your supposed trained PMC has to examine everything they see for for the first time, how and why they become such insane powerhouses when levelling up their strength and endurance, and why it goes so quickly. Neat little theory, really!

i have an M4 in my stash that i cant seam to lose. ive gotten it back in insurance twice and ive killed over 10 players with it. Its weapons like these that i wish we could mount on the wall of our hideout

my PC is capable of playing every other map at around 60 fps but on Lighthouse I'm lucky to maintain 30 fps and it drops when there's a lot of action

Lighthouse became my favorite map after learning to farm rogues. Great mid-long range fights, some close quarters in the chalet and the big house on the hill. Rogues give decent-good loot. And great loot across the entire map

I think one thing to consider in CQC with the valady, point fire within 20 meters is probably a better choice even without a laser as you often lose visual with the poor eye relief of the valaday. You did get the guys in the end but you might want to consider using point fire a bit more close up with the valaday

I definately think playing on a map your less familiar with makes you play alot more cautious too which probably had something to do with this streak but props to getting such a mean streak anyway. Stay awesome as always!

I've kinda given up on this wipe now, topped out at 34, but that slog through Punisher 4 and then 5 kills me nearly every wipe. Am halfway through 5 now.

I don’t know much about video game optimization, but it seems like lighthouse is one of (if not the most) densely asset populated maps in Tarkov. Plus it has a ton of changing geometry with the mountains and you can see almost all of the map on some of those peaks. It might just come down to them using such an old engine, but hopefully not. If anyone knows better, I’d love to know as well!

Not sure why I’m just not a fan of the RFB, I feel like it’s model looks a bit chunky and awkward and therefor it almost feels like that to me as well if that makes any sense, I prefer a budget SR-25 build. Also loving this new style of videos you’ve been putting out keep it up!

I have tried with the MP7 and stuff, it works ok but you end up taking a lot of kit with you. I have taken a fiveseven in with a DVL, and that worked alright. I feel like I'm getting better with the 1x though so not as necessary as with a bolt action

@@Gigabeef Can the RFB use a canted? To make up for how slow the Valday can be at close range? I've always wondered how viable something like the select fire Glock would be as an SMG alternative for emergency CQB, for the sake of using the holster slot rather than the second full size slot, just bring that with a Big Stick in it for tight quarters. Might be worth experimenting with

same brother, a fat ditto on your message.. but now the trend has reversed, play lighthouse more than woods and interchange combined, my actual favorite maps .. the loothouse has spoiled me, even the best raids on the older maps don't compare to a mediocre haul from light keepers front yard.. one doesn't even have to open a single cache (they're inconvenient af anyways) .. "it was all just sitting there!"

Dude. I hate it XD I had a moment with like several people 15~20 meters away. All together, moving slowly. 2 mags from RFB and 0 hits. They didn't even run, they were just there. After that I hate this gun. I can't even hit anyone with it. RRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

for me, I feel like Lighthouse is always gonna be a waste of time. Added so late so no major quests there for progression, the busted AF AI, constant sniper alley that I'm not willing to deal with. Not worth it for me. Especially with how large it is, if I get screwed somewhere, I'm not making it out. Other places I could probably limp away and be safe. Not here

With how poorly the game is optamized since thats sorta the last thing devs focus on, first its content and goals then optimization, im surprised i can run the game over all at 60-80fps with my 2060 but lighthouses runs like shit in the sun so i havent bothered with it during the day time, only night.

people don't seem to realize that what gun you use is not what matters, it comes down to if you land your shots or not that's why a bad player can have the best moded weapon and still loose fire fights. Using a gun a youtuber says is good will do little to nothing if your aim and recoil control is trash

you know why the rfb is so popular? it's cheap and effective and guess what when all that's left are radars and people that disable your gun you can still run raid after raid until you get one without the bullshit..... bsg needs to fix the fucking cheating problem and i kinda agree that they are the ones making the games because earlier today my buddy killed a radar bitch and was immediately disconnected from the server and his buddy promptly shot my friend before he could re load......... the hacking problem is so bad that it's almost worthless to play.

Watching people discover good weapons years after they've been in the game already is always funny to me. Like yeah, what a huge discovery, the RFB is a good gun, woah. The only people who didn't know that are either the newbies or the braindead meta slaves that do nothing but copy paste streamer loadouts. The RFB has been king since the first day it was added to the game. It's only competitor was the Hunter but once they removed that from the scavs, the RFB became the objectively best budget gun in Tarkov's history. And a weapon that is 7,62 NATO will obviously always be good during a wipe.
