I think you hit the nail right on the head. We discussed in a different video how they could have better advertised the Sega CD (or just made games that focused on expanding all the good things the Genesis did) but the 32X seems like such a misplay and waste of time and money that could have instead been funneled to the Saturn. Also for a company that had so much advertising around the Genesis being cheaper than the SNES, being 100 bucks more than the Playstation was never a recipe for success for the Saturn.

When I was growing up, I had a buddy.. He was THAT kid, always got every new console that came out. And yep, he got the Saturn. The arcade ports were tons of fun, Die Hard being one of my favorites. When it came out, the system definitely blew my mind, Nights was the 1st game I played on it. I agree with you on the controller, best D pan ever, and the thing was super comfortable all around. Solid console that deserved more development

@@Lookwhatthesandsdonedidtome Hmm, my guess would be that issue has more to do with the cheat itself than the game shark. Because cheats are essentially "hacking" the game in a way, it makes sense that they could potentially cause some issues.

During High school I had the Megadrive, mega cd and snes and enjoyed them all (sega was always my favourite) just after leaving high school the 32x came out and I picked it up, then when I heard of the Saturn shortly after and I felt I'd been ripped off and I actually turned my back on video games, eventually selling off all my consoles and buying a car etc. (growing up) I loved the Sega arcade games and I think I would have loved the Saturn, but never did own one! Eventually I got back into gaming with the n64 in 1999! I love retro gaming now and focus on the consoles I used to have (except mega cd and 32x as I have no interest in these). but still never had a saturn - Maybe now is the time to buy that next sega console..... I bought a Sega Saturn in 2015. I now own 3 consoles, dozens of controllers and around 125 games, most of them JP imports. It has cost me… a lot. Because finding games like Battle Garegga, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Radiant Silvergun and Street Fighter Zero 3 at a garage sale in middle America is pretty much impossible. But it’s been worth it for me. The JP Saturn is my second favorite retro console after the SNES.

@@HieronymousLex - Not to get too into it, I’d actually prefer it if we got into doing Optical Drive Emulators for the Saturn. I’ve never seen either in my life.

I bought my Saturn a few years after its release. I bought it from someone selling theirs along with their games. Both me and my husband were Team Sega back then but he jumped ship with the Playstation, so he really didn't get why I wanted a Saturn. 2024 and I still have that Saturn which I still love. My husband is a convert and also loves the Saturn too. I got an Action Replay and anyone owing a Saturn really should have one as no conversions needed. You just plug Action Replay in and you unlock the system to play Japanese games. Games can get expensive but I have found that many of the really expensive games released in North America have a more affordable Japanese release.

The Saturn is my favorite console. There is so much to say about the 32 bits. It has 1107 games ( more than any other Sega consoles). The Saturn was developed for the Japanese market ( opposite of the Megadrive) that’s one of many reasons why the Saturn never were a success outside Japan. I love rpg and the Saturn is the king in Sega library consoles. The 32 bit is more powerful than the PS1 but except Sega and lobotomy no one has used the 2 cpu in the best way. Until mid 97, Sega was ahead Sony in Japan I have a bunch of Saturn including rare one ( hi Navi Saturn, Samsung Saturn and the super prologue 21)

Have all these original disks, etc. I am really into throwing away the original hardware (totally compromised, all oxidated junk, looks like new but nothing works, tested ald most fails), using the saturn (like new) carcass and putting a new Raspberry Pi that can emulate my Sega Rally collector's disk (panzer dragoon, and all other disks) 60fps with no overclocking stuff. Hope it happens soon.

thats easy i know this way b4 any one. One word i can put down sega by just one word. [greedy] sega got greedy. sega fall hard because they got very stingy greedy. sega game was alright but there werent many rpg game like snes but sega game wasnt the problem its wasnt the problem that fail the sega it was the console it self. remember what i said all it take just one word [GREEDY]. the real season why dream cast fail was also because of that one word[GREEDY]. it dated back all way way to the time when sega got so super greedy its when sega refuse to make better quality games and better sound and at the sega 32x era thos were the problem that kill dream cast. like i said sega game sound wasnt the problem it was the console it self. i learn this when i watch i am keef. i watch one of keef video and he mention one word [i dont want to do or give it much effort. but keeef didnt talk about sega he was talking about how cheap nintendo was but im not talking about nintendo we are talking about sega ok. do you know what im talking about???????????? do any one know why?????????? it mean. why did sega make 32x? why did sega make sega cd? why did sega make addon???? why did sega make 32x???? the graphic or sound and bits wasnt any higher then sega genesis. why didnt sega make a sega saturn why did they run around in circle for a very long time why did they make garbage addon??? thats why i say just one word sega got very greedy. why didnt they just make sega saturn why a 32x and a sega cd what a waste of time and money. but ofc i know sega was super greedy and didnt want to waste to much effort. for some of you who didnt know what im saying maybe this will clear your minds. how can we make a game console with very less amount of effort in fact i dont want to waste any effort at all lets not make new console in fact let keep sega fan keep playing sega and sega genesis and sega master let make them play something a bit different but.........still on a sega genesis or sega master or sega. you game reviewers been reviewing on the wrong thing wrong subject wring this wrong that for a very long time. if you guys dont know what the fk why did sega fail and died because you suck your garbage
