The Thunder were the #1 seed in the Western Conference this past season, but the Mavs dispatched them in six games on their route to the NBA Finals. Mike thinks the Thunder could be the Mavs' biggest threat to returning to the Finals going forward based on their current success and treasure trove of future 1st round draft picks.

Mavs need 3 point shooting they got Klay they need one more 3 point shooter. The Celtics won the title because of multiple players coming in shooting three's and sometimes from half court 😂

Both Naji and Grimes are good 3 point shooters. PJ said he's also altering his fork during the off-season so he can shoot better.

Thunder just locked in 4 role players for 4 years. Plus the draft picks for rookie deals. Shai is locked in until end of 2027 They can super max Chet and jdub in 2 years and still have the team all together for 1 more year. 3 years without needing super max on jdub and Chet. Thunder win it all in 2026 and 2027. Next year they go to finals and lose to Boston.

@@nate-pq2lmi'm a Thunder fan and I agree 100%‼️The West is a slaughter house compared to the East‼️With that being said Boston is the best team in the NBA by a long shot.... they're built to win RN and it ain't no if, ands or buts but I do see us now as possible threat but there's still something missing‼️

They're all on Rookie deals except for Shai. Obviously their window shifts over time with how they will lose some of these guys due to the cap

They’re in position to be able to resign their 2 stars who are on rookie contracts to max contracts (JDub and Chet)

I don’t know why suddenly the Thunder got so much hype after iHart. The reason why Thunder was tough to guard is because of their 5 out. I’m a fan of JDub and he’s going to be the main factor if OKC gets better this year or not. Not iHart and not Alex. Also, I am not anticipating them to be in the top3 seed this year. They were very fortunate with their health and I doubt they’ll be as healthy next season.

OKC needs to extend Chet and Jalen Williams next year and re-sign Caruso and that is kind of the problem. They are staring at a payroll approaching 200/M in 2025-26 and their team resides in OKLAHOMA. It’s a pretty f***ing small market (700,000). Don’t know how they are going to swing it. This year is the best chance to win with a payroll under 160/M. Wouldn’t surprise me if they walk away from Caruso and/or Williams or Chet just based on cost. Make a huge play for Flagg not because they love him but because he’s reasonably affordable for the next five years. It’s a mess for them. They are competing with markets that are TEN TIMES THEIR SIZE. It’s an unfair fight. Dallas should start inquiring about these guys if they can stomach a 200/M plus payroll because OKC won’t go there and Dallas can with our new ownership.
