The UK is very good at developing technology and weapons systems however we are useless when it comes to production. The UK is very good at training personnel, but terrible at recruiting and equipping them. We usually sell the best stuff to our allies (looking at you America) good example of this is the harrier.

'Useless at production' ?? Hawker Hunter, English Electric Lightning, Avro Vulcan, the Canberra, Vickers Valiant, Handley Page Victor, the Harrier, numerous aircraft carriers of the past sixty years, the Centurion tank, the Challenger, the Warrior, Scorpion, Scimitar, Saladin, and numerous weapons of these post-WW2 decades. All of it pretty decent kit.

How about you become a cou try who can defend herself ON HER OWN ISLAND first, then when you can fight an expeditionary war BY YOURSELF and build your own Ships, Submarines, Weapons and Aircraft by yourselves we can talk about you being considered a MILITARY, Military Superpower comes much later!

@28pbtkh23 - yes, useless production. The entire production runs of ALL of the aircraft you listed could maybe fill the parking lot of a shopping mall ! AND EVERY PERSON HERE KNOWS THE REASONS WHY NONE OF THOSE AIRCRAFT WERE EXPORTED EXCEPT LIKE 10 HUNTERS......BECAUSE YOU COULDNT EVEN PROVIDE YOUR OWN COUNTRY WITH SPARE PARTS FOR THE AIRCRAFT OR TANK ! We've already built twice as many F-35's as ALL of the aircraft you have listed. You can list all the things you want, but when they never really performed worth a shit, weren't made more than a handful, weren't sold to anyone else because there were far, far, far, far better options(made by us) on the market and you couldn't supply parts......USELESS AT PRODUCTION! You've never mad a LOT of anything, except excuses since WWII and a steady decline of everything else since. The GREAT is out of Britain and has been for quite some time.

With the amount of manpower the UK armed forces is losing and struggling to retain, I had to double check if it was April the 1st when I read the title of this video. Just one US Navy aircraft carrier probably has more combat aircraft available than the whole of the RAF.

With more advanced equipment and AI technology becoming a thing, the current manpower of the UK is fine. Also, the British Army so far has seen a 6 year high in applications so far this year. So manpower is starting to rise again, the British army has had around 50,000 people signing up in the past few months. We also have nearly 80,000 ex-soldiers that are required by law to re join the military if we went to war.

Thats not true at all... US navy carrier usually have like 4 squadrons of fixed wing COMBAT aircraft (48 Aircraft of which 12 5th gen, 36 4th Gen). We have ~130 typhoons alone, ~40 F-35's (Ordering ~100). Typhoons are far superior to the F-18, same with F-35.

They destroyed their military capabilities when they reduced the size of their navy, army and air forces and slashed their defense budget. Then as you said, let the us become their defenders in a time of crisis. Their soldiers are still some of the best trained in the world, but they can't supply them adequately, especially not in the face of war.

It's old and you're behind...and how on God's green earth does anyone thing employing a chicken shit laser constitutes them becoming a military Superpower when they can't even build their own aircraft by themselves, have a Navy larger than my high-school, field more than 10 tanks and open any of their weapons and everything says Lockheed or Raytheon inside of it. Technology is destroying manpower Ai artificial intelligence computer is taking over the world. Putting jobs at risk but also brainwashing the operator programming the computer which is eradicating manpower soldiers and sailors and air force personnel. Have all the technology but you still need boot's on the ground. Your frigate and destroyers and and submarines and aircraft carrier needs sailors to operate. Your air force needs pilot's to fly modern technology. The only time technology will be good. Is when technology reproduction of it's own kind. Computer read's diagram to reproduce It's own image to replace mankind. At this stage the entire earth population will be united and fighting artificial intelligence
