The WoT CC program provides very few benefits to creators, which aren't useful to the majority of its members. You could say it fails to help the creators, but rather takes advantage of their willingness to create content. In this video we discuss what the program actually does for CCs and how it lets them down.
The truth is, creator programs like this should do so much more than offer clout. Watch this video to find out what the program really does, why creators might want to join it, but also how it could be improved.

I'm late to Iksta's video, but he makes an incredibly important point. As a content creator on another platform for over the last 11 years, I've gained a rather large following/community through my ability to story tell. It's an incredibly important skill to master. My content alone, which is crime and news reporting, isn't enough to attract AND KEEP new people. If you can take your community along with you on your content creator journey by keeping their attention through storytelling, even including them, you're golden. The WoT CC program? No clue, I only mod for one CR and his skills lay in providing viewers with a friendly place to hang out. I've seen the disparity between servers AND CC's game wide, it's mindboggling and I don't understand why WG'ing uses the current business model. They could gain so much by just using common sense, unfortunately, common sense isn't so common these days. Well done Iksta101.

This is why I won’t become a content creator. The content I want to create is only meant as a hobby for me and I don't want to get forced into creating content that I will not enjoy. The majority of content creators are of course not this because they have to make income so they can live. It is possible to do both, but in the CC program, you need to stay relevant as much as possible.
@Iksta
@Iksta 3 ай бұрын
It's not so much "forced" to create content. Rather, all the program really provides is access to things to create content about. But yea, its definitely not anything that really makes a difference in the content you make. At the end of the day it provides an opportunity, the obligation is on the creator to take full advantage of that opportunity.

I don't know why Iyouxin is not a CC yet. He has a big enough community and has content for new, medium and veteran players at every level from noob to expert. He also experiments with various equipment and tries new positions and tactics all the time. I find him very entertaining and also very helpful. The existing CCs are quite boring as you mentioned in this video, same, same every day.

I rather enjoyed participating in the WoT CC programme. At the time, I think our ANZ/Asia handlers did their best to give us the means to self promote, but I would agree that compartmentalisation of the global business did tend to gatekeep access to a global audience and would definitely agree we could have benefited from some upskilling in the content creation space. Viewcount is obviously an important metric for selection and status within the programme, but right at Tier I we're talking about CC's who've made careers of it, and when people make careers of it then the motivations change completely. It becomes less about creating quality objective content and more about getting clicks and optimising for the algorithm, while viewing other CC's not as colleagues but competitors in business and threats to lifestyle. I feel that for some CC's internationally, this need for clicks and sensationalism has often resulted in a disingenuous content spread and it's quite easy to see through. I'll watch this space, although I suspect a return to content creation is an unlikely prospect (at least until the mid life crisis hits and I buy a tank 😅)
@Iksta
@Iksta 3 ай бұрын
The sad part is - " It becomes less about creating quality objective content and more about getting clicks and optimising for the algorithm" - this doesnt apply to most of the CCs who have made a career out of it in wot - they still all put out relatively low effort content due to the issues highlighted at the start of the vid. Either way, I am glad you enjoyed the vid!

What I don't like with CC's is when they play only OP tanks also with only purple equipment and 16 or whatever crew skills. This isn't realistic for 99.9% of the viewers to do. What I do like is when they make videos explaining what they do, like choosing a good starting position and why they relocate during the battle, which enemies that are crucial to kill and so on. That's how you can actually learn something from them.
@Iksta
@Iksta 3 ай бұрын
To be fair to them, in most cases they already have those tanks and equipment on their accounts since they've been playing for so long. At the end of the day, there is nothing that says they have to help people learn the game. It is nice when they do that though :)
@menfaaanda
@menfaaanda 3 ай бұрын
Well if they play on their own accounts it's totally fine of course. I was talking about CC/press accounts. They don't have to help but I.E. Kajzoos video on in game settings is his fourth most viewed video ever so spreading some knowledge is good for themselves and the viewers. @@Iksta

WoT userbase is generally in the "older" side. Zoomer clickbait thumbnail soyfaces and caplocks text won't move this audience a lot. I've been a daily follower of KZfaq CCs since 2018 and noticed the trend some of them are trying, yet they don't get any more views from those clickbait thumbnails. Kudos to QB for keeping it to minimum compared to like Skill or Dez. Or the smaller creators who just pull their clips from their Twitch channel to KZfaq, there's a reason nobody cares about your KZfaq channel. I believe that Chems is the one that puts the most effort in the video making. No matter how obnoxious the guy is he has the most unique and creative videos in the WoT community. Something handcrafted and not bulk order.
@Iksta
@Iksta 3 ай бұрын
Clickbait and trends is 1 thing - but genuinely understanding what makes high quality content is an entirely different story. Keeping it minimal and avoiding understanding things that benefit the quality of content are 2 drastically different things, while i completely understand your viewpoint - a lot of ppl tend to mistake these 2 things as being the same. They aren't. Same can be said about "clickbait" and "sensationalism" - while there are crossovers, they arent the exact same thing, and understanding this difference is important to create the best possible content you can, out of respect to your audience. But I am totally onboard with everything else you mention! There is an argument to be made about QB only staying relevant due to the echo chambers that promote him and the fact that he has had a monopoly on wot audiences for a long time, but thats not worth getting into here, I will have a video coming out at some point within the next few months on why people should just trust what he says at face value becasue he makes a lot of errors in the things he says at times. However, nothing against the guy, I just wish he educated himself a bit more on content creation and learn how he could improve his own content further, like i said, for his audiences experience above anything else. I personally see not wanting to create the best you can as a disservice to your communities.

Not quite the type of storytelling I am referring to - but yes, he definitely does better at entertaining his existing audience more than most creators ngl. It's why he can get away with posting whatever content he wants, and why his community love him. He built an actual connection with his audience by emotionally connecting with them, it's such a great thing to see when it happens!

A CC that actually tries to help the balance of the game would make alot of people happy. A CC that highlighted and tried to improve the MM would be such a big improvement. I think they dont want to offend the hand that feeds them. So the imbalanced MM is always ignored.

You must not watch Claus kellerman he is a great storyteller. WoT hates him, I've never seen them promoting him once. But then again he doesn't promote buying T8 garbage 🗑️
@Iksta
@Iksta 2 ай бұрын
If you think Claus is good at storytelling in a video, go educate yourself on what videography and content creation actually entails. You did not comprehend the "storytelling in terms of video structure," I am referring to. Claus is nothing but an act who preys on the lack of information and awareness the majority of his audience actually have about WG and WoT by putting out hot takes and rhetoric that he doesn't even believe. He's a showman who plays his audience like a fiddle. As for your claim about WG not supporting him, he is literally a CC and has access to CC discord channels where he can respond to WG when it comes to events and activities. He chooses not to, his lack of actual care is ever evident in the half-assed quality content he puts out. His viewers need to stop putting him on a pedestal.
