In Nin Bình, Vietnam, tour guides row boats with their feet through the Tam Cốc or "three caves" river system. Originally, the sampans were rowed by hand but an increase in tourism took a physical toll on the rowers. Feet rowing is a less-taxing alternative. It also frees up their hands for holding umbrellas or operating floating stores.
