Stranger Things Season 4's Ending Has Just Been Changed In A Massive Way!
A brand new 3-hour story featuring Jamie Campell Bower as Henry/Vecna and Matthew Modine as Dr. Brenner just came out in the Stranger Things VR game and they added SO much to the story! We get to see Vecna himself possessing Will in Season 2 and we get to see Henry's first steps in the Upside Down, and we get to play as Flayed Billy and build a meat puppet, and so much more. The emotional ending was the cherry on the top. Strap in for a lot of new Stranger Things :)

I like the dynamic that Vecna and The Mind Flayer have where they disagree on how to handle things. Vecna is more concerned with killing and destroying, while the Flayer is more concerned with enslaving and consuming. But they still tolerate each other because they both want to escape and invade earth and share domain over The Upside Down. So Henry isn’t really the master of The Mind Flayer, and The Mind Flayer isn’t the master of Vecna. They are partners in crime. Despite what Vecna keeps telling the Flayer, he isn’t really fully dominant as The Flayer is actually willing to be used by him, and The Flayer although wishing for Vecna to hurry up and speed up the process is still patient with waiting to escape and enter earth’s dimension.

It’s crazy how much lore is in this game! This video gave a lot of insight into Henry‘s life, which is really interesting and may be important for season five. Must be cool to play this with a VR headset.

@@justpeachybaby5929 I definitely believe that the first and last point are going to be important in season five but in terms of the second point I’m not so sure. The Mind Flayer may be to strong to take control of. Max’s fate will also be important but I believe the likelihood of her dying is slim.

@@somepersonskywalking5350 I definitely believe Will has met Henry in the upside down I'm not sure why he wouldn't have met him, at least once. Yeah I'm unsure of the second point, as I don't believe we've been shown a full extent of the mindflayer just yet. He was a particle when Henry entered but Henry shaped him into the spider monster. Yeah I agree I don't think max will die I believe they would have already done it. But I have a feeling she won't be used much until possibility the last few seasons, since they'll be focusing on Will. I'm soo hyped.

@@justpeachybaby5929 Yes, the game also seems to acknowledge that Will has interacted with Henry and may have even kept this a secret. Can’t wait for season five either. I hope it’ll give the fandom closure and be worth waiting for! I do believe the Duffers know what their doing.

I was always a nice kid, but I got picked on by everyone - friends, family, teachers, etc. - and so I learned to be mean to everyone else; and the disgusting part of that when I was an alcoholic being openly shitty to all of my friends, I had the most success in life. People LIKE jerks; they find kindness a weakness and off-putting - they think it's fake.

You can manipulate generous, kind-hearted people only because they’re assuming you have good intentions, but that will never result in a meaningful bond or relationship. The whole Billy wanting love may seem like a stretch but I can understand why the played it that route. He was abandoned by his mother the only person in his small world at the time that loved him and cared for him. Throughout his whole life he’s probably hated his dad which makes sense so there’s no connection between the 2 of them. In s2 and 3 he’s abandoned by his “little sister” another woman who where he might not have shown his love for her he’s loved a lot. Sometimes people who are so badly hurt like to fall into a routine with people no matter how bad of a routine it is so his routine with Max constant back and forth and him being controlling to make sure she stayed with him is his routine. Her making friends with people her age AND people older than her like Steve isn’t apart of his routine they aren’t in his safe zone you could call it. Her defending them from him is her breaking out of the routine is her abandoning him. I feel like he finds people he can control and lets them get close cuz he believes that they won’t abandon him then they do and he loses it for a while till the next victim comes along and repeat. So he just desperately needs someone that’ll stay with him and that’s why he says stuff like “want to tie them up and put them in my trunk” plus he’s hot so it’s probably hard to find sincere people.

Is this game canon to the main story? Because if so, thats literally crazy. Will seeing vecna, the mind flayer existing before and manipulating henry, the idea that vecna might have made the upside down like hawkins and not will, all this stuff is somewhat contradictory but also quite interesting when paired with the show

This game’s lore along with The First Shadow probably is going to be incorporated into the final season. By the way, regarding will I think he might’ve thought Vecna was was just a different form of The Mind Flayer when he was possessed by it. Because The Mind Flayer and Vecna are two different entities but will didn’t really know what was going on, plus he kept losing memories so maybe Vecna made him not remember him interacting with him.

Also, The Mind Flayer totally makes since to already had existed as the upside down was established as a superorganism so therefore The Mind Flayer is basically the intelligence while everything else is drones and cells and energy. The Upside Down is basically one giant eldritch being. The Vines also were already sentinent moving by themselves and seemed to be independent, and they moved by themselves when the portal closed after Eleven banished Henry to the other dimension.

Regarding Heather (and other Flayed Billy) victims being eaten by the Meat Muppet far earlier in the game than the show, isn't it happening in the Void? I thought it was Billy's perception in the Void Space that *represents* the Mind Flayer "devouring" the *consciousness* of the victims he brings it. Even though their bodies were still walking around in the real world, their *minds* had already been irreversibly consumed.

That’s how I perceived it too! The Void is just a pocket dimension showcasing a more complex event happening in the form of every Flayed victims consciousness becoming part of the meat Flayer avatar body to become a collective Superorganism similar to the Upside down dimension. And before they became melted slop they acted as droned lackeys. So the void was a more abstract showcasing of their free will being taken by the Mind Flayer and them becoming part of its collective.

Either the Duffers changed their minds and listened to fan criticism, or weren’t explicitly clear what they were implying in S4 and it was always intended as the hive minded ruler of the upside down and Henry just joined its hive mind and team up with it to take over more worlds including earth. Either way, I’m fine with it because it keeps the mystery of the upside down as over-explaining kills horror, and cosmic horror is scarier because it can’t be explained. Plus, not all evil needs to come from humans, as Lovecraft horror entities and supernatural forces are just as terrifying for stories. Vecna wasn’t even that scary anyway and was just a whiny incel. The Mind Flayer is more scary imo and it just already existing is satisfying as it being influenced by Henry was just stupid. Not all horror monsters need to be created by evil humans. Same with Xenomorphs as them being created yesterday by an incel android is also retarded. Xenomorphs can’t just exist?! Xenomorphs can definitely exist without being created by humans, as like I said humans being always the evil behind all evil is just boring and stupid.

The Mindflayer and other creatures in Dimension X remind me of Gravemind and the various Flood forms in Halo. Which makes Eleven the equivalent of MC John-(11)7 in the ST universe, and Mike is the equivalent of Cortana. Just like El and Mike, the MC is the brawn and Cortana is the brains

Exactly. The Duffers never intended for us to believe Vecna was the evil behind everything. He’s just an evil person who teamed up with a greater evil because it understands him unlike Eleven and didn’t reject him. It’s a Darth Vader and Darth Sidious dynamic basically

@@Louieelijah good thing the duffers retconned that in their canon side material such as The First Shadow and Stranger Things VR (2024) which have heavy lore which probably are going to be incorporated into the final season. So don’t worry they course corrected because they already set up The Mind Flayer as the big bad in the beginning and making it supposedly a creation of Vecna was stupid and ruins the scariness it had as it was an eldritch primordial being that couldn’t be explained and just existed. Either they course corrected or maybe weren’t clear what was happening in that flashback and decided to fix the mistake by establishing Vecna didn’t create the mind flayer it already existed as the hive minded intelligence of the other dimension and Vecna merely joined the hive mind as its herald and both have equal control over the Upside Down.

In Chapter 6 There is a monster that looks close to what Nancy describes, yes it's the flesh mind flayer from season 3, but it has a different look, could that be what we will have in season 5? BTW The fact that the monster has his face up vertically makes me wonder if it will come out of that giant gate vertically and stay like that, just eating nearby people

i believe the flayer is a physical manifestation of henrys powers unrestrained and in another realm, which i think is henrys mind. Either that or Brenner is Actually a demon and actually the flayer.

No. The Mind Flayer already existed as the hive minded essence of the upside down and merely took the form of shadow Brenner to easily communicate with its new ally Henry. The Mind Flayer and The Upside Down are a giant Superorganism and it’s basically the intelligence while the fauna creatures and energies throughout are like little cells and stuff you see in a body. The Demogorgons Demodogs and Demobats are clearly like drones from an ant colony or bee hive that serve leaders like queens or whatever, which The Mind Flayer is technically the queen/king/heart/brain/battery power of the parallel dimension. It’s something beyond comprehension just like anything from Lovecraft horror.

I understand the idea of what a biologically is and what it does, but where did it come from and why is it in the upside down which is basically trapped in time? Either it is a manifestation or the negative emotions of the test subjects or it's the power source from which they pull their power, like cyclops in the X-Men pulling all of his energy for his optic blasts from another dimension

He probably got that memory erased by Vecna and The Mind Flayer, or he thought Vecna was just another form of The Flayer. But definitely the former. The Mind Flayer when it possessed him made him forget details. So it probably erased his encounter with its herald/5 star general Vecna. That’s probably the best explanation.
