We did this interview a year ago and it was actually specified to the topic: raising half Thai kids in Thailand. And finally I didn't manage to make that video but when I watched her interview again, I thought it was too interesting to just waste it. That's why the information is quite limited. I would definitely be interested to talk more to Caron about other topics too.

What a gorgeous woman - so calm and warm. She exudes a beautiful light and what a joy to be so proud about her "job well done" as a mother raising her babies. It's all we really want to achieve in life (as mothers) happy, healthy connected children/adults. I would love for you to do like a part 2 perhaps about her life married to a Thai man and the dynamics of that union and ultimately the end of their marriage (just a thought) xx As always, thank you Mayan for your delightful content - it brings me calm ..

Great video. I have a half Thai daughter and am from the UK. I'm constantly wrestling with the choice of what to do about education for her. We are in north Thailand now but craving island life...its a difficult choice as a single mum. I work in an international school and in 2 years my kid has learned zero Thai and only how to be materialistic because of their behaviour management system of rewarding behaviour with gifts. It isn't working for us but I don't know what else to do in life for work and providing education...its so hard. I wish I was strong and brave like this lady!
@SweetLifeLanta
@SweetLifeLanta 13 күн бұрын
Yeah we are all struggling with the same things. Also us down south.... we chose to send the kids to Thai school so to instill a little thainess in them before they grow up but the first two years were extremely difficult. I have struggled a lot if I was doing the right thing. All the international school kids seemed so happy while mine didn't want to go to school... I'm sure Caron was also struggling a lot in that time, but now she can look back and be happy with the result. We want to expose our kids to as much as possible of course; both cultures, both languages, but sometimes our choices and capacities are limited. Especially if you're a single western lady living in Thailand. You can't do it all...

What an incredible woman/mother. I have lived in Thailand (Bangkok) for 23 years. My Thai wife of 20 years see our son growing up the same way. At home in two cultures. That's just so amazing. And we will always stay in this wonderful country. That's thanks to the ordinary citizens, not the government.

What an amazing woman! A pioneer in her own right. After being married to a Thai woman for almost 10 years with an 8 year old son living in Thailand now for for almost 7 years I feel she just demystified the educational system so succinctly for me, that I'm truly grateful for having watched this. Thanks Maayan for your continued efforts to tell people's stories. You're a star! And Karen, my hat goes off to you. Thai guys never hang around, all the girlfriends I had in Thailand told me this, plenty of them got knocked around too. Western women get better treatment in Thailand regarding visas, hardly any documents for a spousal visa if you're a women, very different if you're a western man with a Thai gf / wife. Hat off to this lady though if she can make it work. She also mentions the Thai education system, as someone who studied a degree in THailand and was a teacher she is spot on, the education system is just awful, Thailand has one of the lowest levels of English for example.
