This song personally gives me an strange sense of nostalgia. It's that same feeling I get when something I really like comes to an end, and I finally realize there's no more. It's a mix between sadness, acceptance and gratitute. This song somehow feels like a goodbye, but at the same time it feels like it opens to something else. Honestly I really like it a lot

Is the community really that toxic? I usually pop in to the fandom at the start of every new game since Fnaf 1. And the stuff I see and people I talk to about fnaf is pretty positive or that they don’t like that current game so they’ll wait for the next one.

Genuinely one of the best FNaF songs out there. Not a lot of FNaF songs have meaning anymore, they're just the same 'we wanna kill u, tortured souls, etc.' I hope future FNaF songs learn to have more of an actual reason to exist.

Isn't commenting on petty fandom drama kind of less impactful than taking the source text seriously? If anything, wouldn't this reading play into the fandom drama, rather than appreciating the source text? Like that interpretation says it's bad to do? If winging about the community being bad for the community is the point of the interpretation, and by extension what the art is about, then wouldn't the art be entirely self defeating?

Idk what you mean "just the same". If they're making songs about the fnaf lore, the meaning behind the song is gonna be about fnaf lore. For example: "we wanna kill you" and "tortured souls". And a lot more.
@bigboiinanut9967
@bigboiinanut9967 Жыл бұрын
Thats where the living tombstone really pulled through, the first fnaf song WAS kind of the same "tortured souls" but still an absolute banger, but then "it's been so long" Came out, and that one was just amazing as well, and told a story from a different perspective that no one ever thinks about. This song is, however, now my absolute favorite, the fnaf 1 being second to this one.

I honestly find it funny how the older games lore is considered less complex, because I remember people around 2014-2015 saying the lore was overly complicated back then. I believe this might be more due to the theory’s instead of the actual lore.
@aubergineman3205
@aubergineman3205 Жыл бұрын
Lore back then was good. It wasn't "complex" one just had to do a little digging to find some answers. Sure the box never got explained, but like Scotty said "it's the pieces put together" which honestly made the original 4 game's story so much cooler. It didn't end with defined answers it ended with the confirmation that all the elements WERE put in place, but it wasn't the player's answers to have. The secrets in the box never being revealed wasn't just because of scot changing what was in it but in the context of lore:the box was meant for someone other than us. A character like Michael. While that's certainly a possible explanation, Michael wasn't fleshed out 'til SL so maybe the pieces put together in the box were what everyone hated at the time. What was in the box was... *The realization that everything experienced in the games up to then really was all a dream* Dream theory was hated by everyone but no doubt that's what Scot intended. The pieces were bits of memory and imagination, nightmarish thoughts and dreams all from a scared child who, while lying comatose In a hospital bed, fought for his fucking life against corrupted visages of the "family friendly" robots he wished his daddy and his daddy's business partner and friend didn't create. Purple Guy in the original continuity never existed. It was simply the evil representation of the boy's father in his dying mind. The boy blamed him for his death, resentment because papa was too busy to keep his kids under control. Misplaced anger. Today the child's death created Purple Guy. Back then it was similar, but instead of death causing PG to downward spiral. *it was the boy in his downward spiral of life creating a villain of dad in his critical state* Boom. The old lore WAS less complex, the OLD lore with dream theory WAS correct. Bit that ending wasn't satisfying enough

You're right Tyler, this is my explanation for the main lyrics of the song. At first, it was all about the game itself, but then the lyric, "When we share so much wisdom?" appeared, to me it meant about "The good old days" as some would say, and that was the truth, FNaF's fandom in its building popularity, was known to be one of the most respected community, as we also respected others, agreeing or sharing some other opinions to people... but that all went away, when l think FNaF 5 came out, every single Reddit community was bantering some of the most prominent figures and amazing people of FNaF at the time, more importantly Scott, he was pushed with death threats all around, giving hatred and many negative responses to Scott, tearing everything that has been put into effort, our childhoods, and it even lost the inspiration of others, just because of the now toxic waste of the fandom, then the lyric, "But you set fire to the Kingdom, burn it all until it melts,", this is the prime example of what again was happening at the time, the community was thriving like a kind kingdom, as it should have stayed to be, but it all burned down because of arsonists, or in this case the toxic members, it spread like wildfire, affecting those who stayed with the community, even at the darkest and most controversial times, the ash was now the deleted messages from people, who had beautiful, creative and amazing ideas, but was taken down because of the hate, showing how we're tearing each other apart, the lyrics focuses on the game again, and the lyric, "Long time ago, it was all for a show," made me feel quite nostalgic, as the voice for Freddy was the same with the singing voice, in FNaF 1's song, but yes long time ago (9 years ago) it was just a simple concept, turned into indie horror, no hate, just pure terror and happiness, from the ones who have played it, and of course, it wasn't liked by every single one, because everything put out in the world, whether it be a statement or a game like this, it will always never be perfect, people will still find something about a topic not suited for them, "Fill our wounds, with a pound of salt" this was the community, trying to fix everything, and it did slowly recover, but infection came, or in this scenario, the posts of more hate became like a never-ending water supply, "And your reason to justify" was the question most ask to toxic fans, the ones saying "This is all Scott's fault, the game needs to be justified" but at what cost? being followed by "Now this is your fault" people blaming Scott, was saying that he failed to create a fandom who supports one another, he failed in keeping the now decaying community safe and united, "Everything is a problem" is a saying most would state, as truly everything is a problem, to fans, to games, and to dedicated creators, just because of a word, "Hatred" and also the lyric, "There was a poison in the air," meaning that the toxicity has gotten so out-of-hand that people who loved the fandom left, always just hating on what's to come next, as the replacement of leaving a place, because of its gaseous air, "Despair, ls an eternal blight" this refers to the despair, and losing of hope by others, a hope that still... maybe the community could revert back to normal, no harsh arguments, just simple and respectful statements, but the blight had already taken affect, as more and more figures and members, left the community, the damage was done, there was no way that it could still be fixed, its all our fault, "You're losing it all" the community had even more members, who don't want to be affiliated with FNaF anymore, this phrase was used to Scott, about how he once made a fandom for Five Night's at Freddy's, but everything he had worked for, was all gone, in just a matter of days and weeks... and the ones reminiscing about the past, is just hit with "You've been blinded by stardom" even solidifying the fact of how we went, form one of the most creative and respectful Fandoms, to one of the absolute worst, being contained by hateful members, But one last reminder, "You're mine!" being that even if we damage FNaF, as many times or as toxic we can get, the fandom still can be filled with great and creative people, last but not the least, "Now this comes from inside, and stays there until you die!" FNaF being always there to entertain, and also remind us, of the great past that we have, enough to have an impact, that can still stay in our hearts, no matter how much damage we do, and l am grateful for this masterpiece, brought to us.

I was 14 back when FNaF 1 came out, and now I'm 23. It's like the decline of the franchise marks my own youth fading away, bit by bit. The community is now ~10 years younger than me, and it's nothing like what it once was. It's no longer my community. That's why this song is so bittersweet to me, a reminder that everything changes, and everything, ultimately, comes to an end. Still, I come back to FNaF whenever life seems especially tough. I watch old or new playthroughs, draw fanart, laugh at memes. And it never fails to give me some kind of peace of mind. It's a piece of childhood that's always with me, and for this, I'm grateful.

The message overall of the song, feels like a very personal thing, especially to those who were part of the original fnaf generation, though young at the time, I am still part of that Old Fnaf Generation. It feels pretty saddening overall, time marched on, and i always felt that the way the chorus is sung, how long do we have to try, not only out of frustration, but out of a feeling of passage. How long do we have, that's what it feels like too. How long do we have to try, because we may be running out of time. But we aren't going to let it fade away, and it'll really be here until I die, it will always be part of me. I generally agree with everything said in the vid.

Completely agree. I don’t use Twitter sanctimoniously so I had no idea people didn’t like the song, but from what I saw at least in the KZfaq comments and videos, people seemed to love it, so was surprised to hear it. I guess I can understand a bit- it’s not like any of the previous FNF songs. The others were upbeat, loud, crazy and sporadic, but this song was a lot more mellow- as it should be! This song means so much with so little, and it’s incredible something so beautiful was made by someone who means so much. TLT, he’s owed a lot of his success to FNaF, so to see him delivering this song means so much more yknow. I also was incredibly confused by the songs lyrics when first listening but soon read inbetween the lines. I don’t completely share the same thoughts as you as I believe the song is to Scott Cawthon more then it is the fandom. With lyrics like “You set fire to the kingdom (FNaF)”, “Why feel so alone when we share so much wisdom (Feels like the “Why feel so alone” is address to Scott and “we” is the fans), and on the chorus it’s just chock full of it. “Long time ago..for a show..”(As you said how the game was just a man making a game to say screw you to people who hated Chipper and Sons), “fill our wounds with a pound of salt..”(Scott doing the things he did hurting the fandom), “lock us inside a vault”(locking the FNaF characters, aka not making more games by him cause he left) “this is your fault”;”blinded by stardom”(again it’s cause of what he did) I could go on!! So yea! I think it’s more a message to Scott, but the funny thing about interpretation is everyone has their own, so I can respect yours. Thank u for making a video on this amazing song!

Honestly I don't really know much abt what Scott could've possibly done bc all I know is that people were mad abt were him supporting one person that wasnt pro-lgbt once after all these years- Scott made it clear he was very much supportive and loving to the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting and donating whenever/whatever he could, so much more than just the one donation he made to support whoever tf political person. He had always started out just making fnaf games every year, so its not like he was just pushing things out just for attention- it was how he made them, he wanted to expand n such with what he made and was happy he had a fanbase to do it. I dont have Twitter though so I don't know whatever other controversies Scott faced, though usually big controversies usually make it to KZfaq so idk. Scott isn't at fault for leaving so i doubt LTS would be making a song judging that decision, his kingdom turned on him and tried to burn down every part of it, trying/saying they wanted to kill the king and queen & their children. Who would stay for a community like that? Especially if it was abundant enough to make it an issue at all after all his time making the games. I dont think he wasn't blinded by stardom, but people were blinded by his and forgot he was a human being, forgot all he's tried to do for the fans who've supported him, the fans he raised. I doubt anyone would stick around when people start threatening to hurt a pregnant woman just because they don't like them, attempting to doxx and harass overall is too much for anyone to handle. I may not see a reply to this btw, bc I have my comment notifs off eheh- though feel free to send an informal message response!! To me, I thought it was a message to scott himself. " long time ago it was all for a show fill our wounds with a pound of salt." to me, this is refrfencing the fact that fnaf was just supposed to be a one time game, just for scott to prove that he could make something scary, and at the time to know that fnaf was just gonna be one game, it hurt. But then scott made fnaf 2, then 3, and then so on and so forth. But then, Scott left the community, filling our wounds with a pound of salt. then, the next line " your reason to justify" seems to be refrencing how scott could've easily just denied the accusations and kept making the games, but instead tried to "justify" his actions. "Locked us inside a vault" means how hes leaving the series to Steel Wool, and vaults are often made of steel. " Now this is your fault. Everything is a problem" Refrences how everything is security breach is glitchy and doesn't make any sense lore wise. "There was a poison in the air" refrers to twitter and how the community started getting pissed at him. "You're losing it all. You've been blinded by stardom" Scott lost control over the series after leaving, and i see the line blinded by stardom being a sort of way to say that Scott became entiled and felt like he was forced to defend himself, instead of just ignoring it all. "You think that you're alone, but we are waiting for you every night" This line talks about how that, even though scott thinks that his community still hates him, we still want him back. " You're mine" Scott is our childhood. Hes our hero. Hes ours.

@@nuttynutsnutstache but was it though? from what i gather he sent monetary aid towards people that also had polices against LGBT. but then again....its politics. And politics (especially American politics) is a giant mess. over the past couple of years ive found myself thinking more about...well, how increasingly polarizing so much stuff has become. and how sometimes, you may have to choose things you dont necesarily agree with, but still go for it because of certain things happening in life. I dont fully know why he chose to give money the people he did, but at the end of the day thats not even my business. and as someone who's lost friendships because they got mad i didnt vote for the people they wanted me to vote for (even after explaining i might not even vote for anyone at all because i thought noone was fit for thier respective positions) or not supporting certain social movements and cut ties with me (or the few that didt talk to me for a few months), it made me apreciate his response to all that drama even more (especially with him accepting cancellation if it came to it, instead of some typical "apology" like so many others have made). perhaps if he had done some things different (put his viewpoints into the FNAF games, saying certain things on social media, etc), i would get a negative vibe about him from that situation. but i dont. if anything, I'm mad at the people who decided to spotlight his donation history. I while im of the belief that just because you donate to good causes doesn't mean you are a good person (referencing his various donations to the Trevor Project before 2021), the whole Summer 2021 situation just felt off to me. god i wish people werent so black and white with stuff. the world's too complicated - and messed up- and people are too petty for that kind of thinking to be prominent.

one theory i've had is that the lyrics " There was a pre-existing dictum, programmed to do nothing else!" means that there was a perfect type of gameplay in fnaf 1-4, but it got changed and basically ignored in the newer games of course, fnaf vr did bring back fnaf 1-4 (kinda), but it just doesn't feel like what it use to be

I left the community when I reached high school back in 2016, I felt which way the fandom was going and I didn't want to be part of the toxicity. The community turning on Scott was just the proof that this entity had gotten away from everyone. It is true that this happens to basically every internet fandom. Gatekeepers, Head cannoners, etc. they all play a part in destroying things... from the inside. I'm glad I grew up on FNAF, it truely was a oddly wholesome community when it first started and everyone still didn't know anything. To go back to those times.

Okay, two things! I don't understand how someone could ever think this song sounds bad! It's GORGEOUS! I dunno, maybe it's the fact that, compared to other FNaF songs, it's really different. It's a slower tempo, and not as intense. So maybe that's it? HOLY COW, I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING! This Comes From Inside is so different compared to almost all other FNaF songs, kinda like how SB was so different from the other games! I don't know if that was the intention, but it's cool! The second thing is that I don't think that it is SB that made the fandom what it is now. What makes the fandom so uninhabitable is the fact that it's no longer a place where people can just share their art and music and writings about FNaF. The community does not seem to focus on those aspects of the fandom. Only the controversies. And because of that, it has become a much harsher, more judgmental community. And it doesn't help that SB was such a different game. A lot of people tend to dislike, or be put off by things that are different from the original. And all this combined made it very easy for the larger community to shame each other or fight about differing opinions, whereas before, the community as a whole didn't seem to care all that much. Hah, can you believe that that entire paragraph is the condensed version of all my thoughts. I don't think I explained them too well either, but it doesn't matter that much. I personally like SB. It's not the best game. It's glitchy and I'm not a big fan of the lore. But, I really, really like the new animatronics, and the game as a whole is really fun.

I love how different this song is, it just has a really good vibe. The first time I heard this song was actually on a video of a horror fan reacting to the fnaf songs by the living tombstone, and before I heard it, I saw a comment stating that not a lot of people liked it, but when I heard it I immediately fell in love. And yeah, SB isn't my favorite out of the whole franchise, but the more I see of it, the more I kind of accept it, but I was always a fan of the creepy vibe fnaf gave off, and SB didn't have that, which is probably why I wasn't as in love with it.

Fnaf 4 started to differ from the rest of the games because it was et in a new place (a bedroom) but it still followed the same line as the other ig if yk what I mean. But then when it came to fnaf 5 things were different because you weren't in one room, you could travel to different areas. Then fnaf 6 became to transfer back to it's origins. Once fnaf SB came out, everything was different and less scary. I remember watching a youtuber playing this and their first reaction was "it's so bright and vibrant, it can't be that scary" but they still got scared by it. Despite the changes happening to Fnaf, it' still Fnaf and we should love and accept that 💜.

Whenever I hear this song it makes me feel so emotional. I only joined the FNAF fandom a month ago, yet I feel like I've been here for years. The middle part of the song is indeed genius, as it talks about how the Franchise have been blinded by becoming famous, and they try to make their games more kid-friendly so that they can earn more fans, which means more money. I personally really enjoy Security Breach, as its a big turn from all the other games and you get to experience something new. I do understand how old fans see Security Breach as a mistake though, as they've been in the franchise way longer than I have.

Listening to this song and understanding it’s message, I don’t think I miss “the old fnaf”, I really miss the old fnaf COMMUNITY. The nostalgia (for me personally) means those old times never left, they’re still a part of me, which is why the lyrics “you think you’re alone but we are waiting for you every night” hits so hard. I miss when theories were more often just for the fun of it, and even the parts that still were toxic weren’t the majority and could just be ignored. I miss when everyone was able to enjoy it together instead of everyone making their own “perfect” version of the games/story and what was “good” music for it. I don’t even feel comfortable talking about it with other fans anymore because it’s so individualized now it’s doesn’t feel like fandom anymore. It DOES feel like a lot of us are alone but we don’t HAVE to be.

I think that’s a good interpretation of the song. I think it’s special to have a community like we do because yeah, as you said, we have a lot of bad stuff in it and the franchise itself isn’t doing so well, either, quality-wise, but it’s still our own and fairly strong. I feel that no matter what happens, the community will probably keep this franchise alive, at least for a while. Personally, I really do like FNAF, subjectively, and genuinely want to see how everything goes from here. There’s the DLC coming out and, hey, the movie seems like it will actually become a thing within the next few years.

It was no longer angry, sad, or furious like the previous songs (I loved the others too) but this one was special, it was a long awaited farewell to the franchise. I think this is a wonderful point because I have seen so many fandoms be disrespected or see people say someone can't like a fandom because a certain amount of that community is bad or it's known for its bad community. Personally, I think that's just a sad thing for a fandom to go through especially if, for example, you wanted to join or just like a fandom but you're scared of joining or going into it because you're just scared that someone is going to tell you that it's horrible or say 'why would you enter that since you know it's horrible'. This is just a wonderful video to let people know that even if horrible things have happened in a fandom, you should still be able to enjoy it and understand that a community that still has wonderful parts to it can still be so beautiful.

Anyways the point is though, throughout my entire time in this community (From 8 years old to now 18) I have always seen so many absolutely brilliant people in this community, displaying beautiful talents and skills, so I think no matter how toxic this community has became, we should all be so proud and happy to be a part of this :)

Man, and the fact that after the middle part of the song that reflects on the past, the animation cuts to the molten blob, as if that era is encapsulated in the blob alone and is separate from the newest fnaf (and all of THAT discourse surrounding the game). And then at the very end we AGAIN see the blob looking... lost? Unsure of what is has become, just like those of us who have loved fnaf for years and are unsure of what to make of the community after all of the discourse that's taken place. The slow, melodical tune that this song was written with threw me off at first, but after I listened to the song a couple times I couldn't stop for a solid week. I don't understand how people could dislike this song; even if the music isn't your style, the message it carries is so important. Maybe people don't like being called out lmao.

I like how you mentioned the middle segment seems to use the same singing voice from the very first FNAF TLT song. I immediately noticed that too since I've listened to that first song way too many times lmao. Also another thing I noticed, during that whole segment, the lyrics are actually using the exact same font as the lyrics from the FNAF 1 music video. That same pixelated minecraft-esque font. Now that HAS to be intentional. I'll admit, this song isn't really my favourite FNAF song or anything, but that segment as well as the (theorized) message of the song itself definitely hit me especially as a long-time fan of this series ever since the second game. Gosh I love this series till now.. I don't know how long I'll be a fan of it for, nor do I know what the future holds for it, but regardless, I still feel like I'll stick around to see what happens next.

I'm so happy someone sees the song the same as me, the metaphors and lyrics are amazing and the animation is sooooooo good :). Also thought I'd add, I thought about the lyric "Long time ago it was all for a show" might also symbolise how fnaf was simple yet effective, it was very effective because of the simple yet mysterious lore and if course the "uncanny Valley" effect of the animatronics. In Security Breach it is very apparent that it was aimed at a younger audience because of the popularity of fnaf among younger people. That's something the previous fnaf games just didn't have to care about and I feel like that makes them special (don't get me wrong I like Security Breach too but you can see the more childish direction of the series and the Lore might be getting a bit too "mysterious" for its own good, still, love the franchise and song to death and can't wait to see what's next!)

I really love the message that this song leaves. People are being blamed for something, but at some point, they can rebuild. Scott can correct his mistakes by being more careful with who he donates to. Steel Wool can correct their mistakes by filling in the gaps of Security Breach hopefully with Ruin or another game. Although looking at the community and how alot of them feel, it looks like it'll be a 50/50 on how people accept it. They'll either respect SB or they'll still deem it an "unacceptable" mess. Illumix if they were to one day actually let their fans know that they would leave fnaf ar instead of just abandoning it would maybe work. Or they could've actually tried to fix it instead of fucking up and just giving up after one mistake, that being making it a long ass grinding game that encourages you to spend. Jonochrome can correct his mistake by seeking support to help ensure that he doesn't ever do what he did again. And us, the community, we should know way better than to attack one another over a silly bear game. Yes, Scott didn't donate responsibly but that was because he wasn't careful. Now, he wants to be mindful and aware of where it goes. I get it, SB has so many problems but that doesn't mean one isn't allowed to have a different opinion. Even some of the games biggest haters like Phil and th3badd3st respect the fact that there are people that like it. Stating your opinion as a fact is like stating that my depression can't be cured, it's one of the falsest claims that can be made. This franchise is ours to love and care about, even if one dislikes the new, they still love the old, which shouldn't take away any of that passion you have. This community is in our hands now. Its fallen into madness now, and if we don’t stop, it will crumble to its last fan. But we can rebuild, we can make the community a great place again, but i guess unfortunately, that's just twitter for yall.

@5:15 The reason the voice sounds similar is that it's the same person. ^^ That's the voice of Yoav Landau, the original member of The Living Tombstone. I believe in both songs he uses a talkbox for his vocals as Freddy. Yoav doesn't do vocals that often; even back in the day, when it was just him, he would often have guests do vocals, such as Eileen Montgomery. And when Sam Haft joined TLT, he became the one to do most of their in-house vocals. But Yoav does sing from time to time! You can hear his voice in its pure forms in other older songs of his, such as "September". ^^

The best part TLT's lyric composing of each song they make is that they can live on without the need of any of the game's context. This song, in terms of songwriting, composition and production, is impeccable.

Also the part where It says "fill our wounds with a pound of salt" is probably metaphor for the fact some people hate fnaf a lot and its like fnaf is bleeding and all their doing is cleaning it out with a pound of salt and that won't help fnaf, so that's what I think it means

At the middle part, they also used the “waiting for you every night” line from the first song

Ngl I never knew that the fandom was toxic but toxic or not I grew up with fnaf so it'll forever be in my heart and I hope it never comes to an actual end

God, I loved this so much and I also got the feeling of it being about the community and such but I couldn't quite get words for it. You hit the nail on the head with this interpretation! Anyways time to go listen to this song again.

Well for me, this song is the best fnaf song they made so far. I like the sound, the lyrics and the animation.
