Hello and welcome to our channel,
We are Reanne and Ben living in Portsmouth, England. We have been together from the age of 15.
We brought our first house together at 23, got married at 25 and Reanne started her own business at 27.
We have been wanting to travel the world for the last couple of year but covid put a stop to it.
The day has finally come we have sold our business and packed everything we own into storage, rented our house to explore as much of the world as we can in one year.

Kaya on toast is from Singapore? I doubt it. Kaya is from coconut. There are no plantation in Singapore.

In 1919, Singapore's oldest Hainanese coffeeshop opened along Killiney Road. Named Kheng Hoe Heng Coffeeshop, this was where kaya toast was first served to customers. The shop was then bought over by a regular customer in 1992 and renamed Killiney Kopitiam.

@@OTWD_yt hainanese, Cantonese, hokkien(fujian), teochew, Hakka all came to the straits settlement and Malaya. They are not specific to Singapore. The chinese fuzhou also landed in Borneo. So you tell me, we too have hainanese people who makes coffee and bread too.

Malaysia seems like a nice place to visit. We had no idea it was this special. Thanks for taking us along on another fun journey. The prices there are so darn good on food. We could really stretch our $ out there. Those murals are so cool!

Yes really amazing the prices. But now at home inflation has gone crazy so our money is literally worth 5x as much out here

@@OTWD_yt Yeah inflation is kicking our butts here in FL. Dozen eggs are like $5 to $6. Everything is so high, I feel like I am working for days just to pay for food.

Their national anthem majulah singapura and singapura name itself from Malay words, alot of Malaysian heritage still there..🤣

Ipoh used to be a very rich city because of Tin ore, that's why you can find a lot of old commercial areas and huge mansions.. In Ipoh.. you can go to Gunung Lang's lake, Mirror Lake, Chinese Temples in the Hills and in the Caves, Gua Tempurung and Water Rafting in Gopeng.

I don't think kaya is from Singapore alone. Its was made popular by the Chinese during the colonial era...usually served as breakfast.

Kaya Butter on Toast is a Hainanese thing when they used to serve for Breakfast to the British in Malaysia... so it exists in Kopitiams whether in Singapore or Malaysia and not necesarily an SG thing... care full MY and SG are quite competitive when come to origin of foods... Yes I know about the Killiney thing but the Hainanese who were mostly brought in as Cooks to the British colonial were all over... A dying dish is Inche Cabin Fried Chicken which used to be available in Taiping and all over Perak... no more....

Singapore was in Malaya aka Malaysia 🇲🇾.. under one federation before 1963.. Therefore anything Malaya's or the Malay's delicacies and foods are origin from Malaysia 🇲🇾 ✌️😎

0:34 there is no such language as Malaysian. There is English, Malay, Tamil, Cantonese, Hokkien, etc. spoken in Malaysia. Malaysian represents the people born or has citizenship in Malaysia. Just to make sure your viewers know that.

This year Malaysia is on the way to a 500 billion dollar economy which means develop nation status by the end of 2023 barring any unforeseen circumstances. Thailand needs a gdp of a trillion dollar to achieve develop nation status
