I am doing my part by using cloth bag to purchase vegetables, fruits etc so that I can avoid 1 or 2 plastic bags from my side. Plastic can't be avoided 100% but try to reduce it.

Salute to this youth..my father's best friend he is now 58/59...his whole life he has such incredible task .eveyday cleans our neighborhood..and in every month cleans plastic from ponds of our area...almost all the big trees in our area are planted by him in his younger days..I respect him more than my own father..shameful thing is still many people throw garbage or plastic in water

These are the options way more braver, time and energy consuming. Now which one is foolish? To pick up other's waste or get involved in rational methods to solve social issues?

Oh I can relate to him so much. I have picked multiple fights with my friends, family and sometimes strangers regarding this. Everyone's stupid answer is "itna sa hi hai kachda hai koi dek nahi raha hai". I have influenced my relatives and family members but there is more to do. I swear I sometimes feel so angry, right now I am in school but in few years I will clearly do something more. This mob mentality should end. I have seen my teachers doing the same despite teaching us to not pollute in class. Such hypocrites!!!

My suggestion to pune ploggers is to place a recycle bin, so that people will not throw anything in the river, instead they will become more discipline and put in the recycle bin, time goes on they will stop putting in anywhere else, this makes a habit, then they will give advice the next generation where to put waste in a disciplined way. This is humble and experienced advice from beautiful city chennai. Thank you
