He really is a fascinating character. Overall, most of the times he seems kind, and respectful, empathic, likable and indeed his content is highly interesting and engaging. He interacts with all kinds of people and presents us with sides and aspects of countries most of us will never experience. But even before I heard about any of these discussions, every now and then I felt a pinch when he suddenly said something creepy that was just "off" and somehow didn't fit with the rest of how I perceived him. Huh, the most controversy that I've gotten from Bald when I used to actively watch him was when he got caught by Russian authorities for filming in I think a military installment. In anycase, the years where he journeyed throughout Eastern Europe and showcased all his history knowledge was amazing to watch, actual 10/10 content. Interviewing locals, to obscure places, while also teaching us incredible stuff that had happened in history through the lens of his camera was such a... journey.

His videos from Eastern Europe mostly from Moldova and Russia got a lot of attention to me, Bald was able to communicate on Russian so his presence was just more noticable, i wasnt familiar with his earlier work but i enjoyed lots his videos how raw, unscripted and funny they were, him walking in hills in Bolivia being stoped by militia is stuff you only see from him nobody else, it was supraising and sad finding more about his persona

I remember one video where some guys around him were getting pretty annoyed and it might have even culminated with him getting (mildly) assaulted. I figured it was a "loud guy w/ selfie stick out-of-place" thing, but now I'm not so sure it wasn't something else...

He has a much kinder heart than this video makes out. He risked his life to travel with immigrant caminantes across the darién gap looking for a better life in the US. His travel vlogs are unlike anyone else and for that he deserves my support, not that I agree with everything he says but this channel makes any ordinary KZfaqr seem like some criminal mass murderer.

Yeah, you don't give him the $10k. You buy an electrical generator, a bunch of fuel, whatever electrical appliance he wants (radio, small fridge etc.), something for filtering/purifying water, a bunch of clothes and a few pairs of shoes, new blankets/sheets/towels, some sort of an upgrade for his washing/toilet situation like a travel shower that can be warmed up with electricity in the winter, a senior phone and a first aid kit for emergencies, a couple of kilos of nicer dried/canned food like beef jerky or tuna filets etc. Like, just come up with basic stuff he probably doesn't have and keep buying until you've spent the money or you run out of space in your car, then bring the stuff over to him. Maybe he sells some of that for more alcohol, but he'll keep something.

I feel pretty confident about Bald and Bankrupt being a good guy after watching a whole controversy video without a controversy in it. Maybe I could see the jokes about beautiful women might put some people off, but the guy has a very sweet, genuine personality and makes light PG jokes about people he sees as a way to lighten the mood. I think more people respond well to that attitude than sees it negatively.
