Honestly I kinda like how clu looks. Obviously it’s how new the technology was so wasn’t intended but I feel like kinda works to make him feel unsettling. It weirdly fits his character since he chasing perfection in such a twisted way. Hopefully that makes sense. Also great video.

Story of Quorra was much more than what this movie told.. if you played TRON: Evolution, then you discover how Quorra was saved by Anon.

Just a little note, the father-son relationship is not only from being separated by 30 years, but 30 years for Sam and almost a millennia for Kevin, because 1 millisecond on real is 8 hours at the grid (if I remember correctly)

Tron Legacy is my favorite movie of all time! Manely, because I can relate to the father son relationship, I loved the soundtrack, Visuals, and story where amazing! So that's why it's my fav movie.

One of top 5 movies. I like the colors and design of the movie and especially the music. I listen the soundtrack a lot and the movie almost feels like a 2 hour Daft Punk music video.

Star war no more tron is the time

the idea that nothing is perfect but perfection can still be found anywhere has influenced my perspective on the world, and I owe that to Tron Legacy. This film might not be perfect but i still really love it.

Honestly, I don't know why but I've always liked Sam Flynn's lines, I think they add a touch of lightheartedness to the pacing of the movie and for some reason, I really like that about his character

The other day I was talking to friends about our top 10 movies of all time, I put this one on the list, that's how much I like this movie.

Tron: Uprising the short-lived cartoon was doing a great job of expanding the world and exploring the themes you highlighted and I say that as someone that loves both movies and was in my mid 30's when the cartoon was airing. I was sad to see it go. But Disney got Star Wars and Marvel ehh ya win some you lose some but this hurt I loved this growing up never thought it would comeback and it did then they took it away again.

I hear everybody talking about CLU's de-aging not holding up by today's standards, but I think the VFX look fine. It's the reverse of "I can't unsee it now that you've pointed it out". I am simply unable to see CLU's de-aging as uncanny no matter how many times people describe it as such. I dunno, I love this movie so much that I've accidentally glued the rose tinted glasses to my face, lol.

I like the movie as it's easy to watch. And as a Cinematographer it's really feels good to see those beautiful smooth footage. It shouldn't be compared to Tenet or Inception as it's easy on mind yet eye grabbing. . . . .

The C.L.U. de-aging doesn't bother me at all because,.. he's literally supposed to be a VR construct villain! Creepy uncanny valley works perfectly for that, IMHO. (also, they didn't fail to match 1982 Bridges,.. he's supposed to be Bridges 7 years after the original movie (ran the company and developed the grid for 7 years until he was sucked in.)

I like both films they are equally awesome for different reasons, and both do things better than the other. I was around when the first one came out, and the way I look at it is it's just one story. There is no Legacy without Tron.

Pretty much every scene in that movie has been part of my commute or route at some point. Thanks for the video so many well done aspects of this movie and Oblivion which is another of my favourites from Joseph Kosinski.

CLU himself doesn't bother me. His cgi uncanny valley face actually works, because CLU himself is uncanny. What truly bothers me is that it's exactly the same when they show young Flynn

I watched Tron Legacy for the first time this year in a theater room at my college. It was an incredible experience. The flashy and modern take on Tron really makes the difference and is completely worth it over the original.

At the time I was very impressed with the 3d jeff briges,. Also enjoyed this one more than the first movie.

My fan theory on why the look updated, when he took over the company he had the resources go specifically upgrade the main core of the world of tron. Inside he did it directly with Clu and eventually with the isos whose abolity to create complex code naturally created various upgrades clu both used and detested. Like he took the stuff that allowed him greater control like code tbat allowed him to gain control of tron, but something that for instance allow civilian programs freedom to grow beyond their roles ie our equivalent of capitalism/nationalism or any other system where a select few control the populace.

Both movies were great. I don't understand his negative comments on the second movie. My biggest grip with the second was it wasn't long enough. Fantastic sequel, and I'll watch it again tomorrow if it was on.

In 1982, the effects in Tron were on about the same level that the effects in 2010 were on, chronologically speaking...after years and years of guys in rubber suits, spaceships being pulled along on a string and all manner of cheesy special effects, Tron looked like something really cool and new...hell, they didn't give Tron consideration at the Oscars that year because they decided that using computers for animation was 'cheating'...

Tron Legacy Rocks.... so does the Expanse... it's on Prime. You have to watch it.

If we never got CLU, then we would never have gotten the de-aging tech that we have in film today. It was a necessary step in technology.

I'm with all the way on this one. It's my go to when I'm looking to get away. I just put on the soundtrack and I'm transported, watching the movie in my head. But you do realize, don't you that Daft Punk only did the two or three songs in the club where they are featured. I LOVE that they didn't need any special costume, they fit in so perfectly. The rest of the soundtrack is by the amazing Hans Zimmer doing riffs on themes from Daft Punk, building and shaping the same kind of music throughout the movie.

I watched Legacy again and i always go back to this one more than the original! effects, production, sound and that nerdiness feel! Will always be on my list!

With the action dialogue, I'd say like half of them are fine. Sure, some of them seem really odd, cheesy, generic, and detract from the scenes they're in, but others make sense and I'd say work well. And with Clu's face, it's never really bothered me. I think it looks great and I had no clu they were using a de-ageing thing until I started hearing people complaining about it. Anyways, definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

I saw this movie when it came out several times in the theater i loved it so much i still. watch it all the time. I had NO idea that was not a human actor. One scene at the end he looked odd but i was so busy looking at all the other fun things in the movie. Back then it was good now all i can see is how his face doesn't move enough. Same with Twilight and that horrible baby in the last movie.

The only thing that really bugs me about Tron Legacy is that there IS a really cool story there that's almost being told, but it's getting pushed out of the way by this father / son story. Neither storyline is bad, but there isn't room for both of them in THIS movie. The story of Sam and his father is a good story, and there's a LOT of emotional weight there -- but nobody's going to talk about Olivia Wilde pulling off this god-like intelligence, such astonishing abilities, and still be naive to the point where her character is just... saturated in innocence, hope, change, light.... CLU: "You did... all of this for HIM!?" CLU activates disk. It is Quora's disk. He's been played. He's followed Flynn's orders, made the perfect system, saw imperfection, and did everything he could to destroy that imperfection. He wanted to change the world, but there was no thought of malice, no belligerence, just... doing what he was made to do. And for all of that... he's going nowhere. SHE is, but SHE didn't try to make a perfect system, she was the flaw of that perfect system... CLU fought and fought and fought, for years, only to be outright rejected in favor of two abject failures who - to CLU - just kind of showed up one day. FLYNN "He's my son!" And the line that could've been in the movie, the one line that was said far better with Jeff Bridge's CGI facial expressions than ANY line spoken by ANYBODY in the entire movie... With his eyes, CLU looks at Flynn, "...And I'm NOT? Flynn-damn it, man - do you SEE this disk!? Take it - this wasn't personal, I was never after YOU. If YOU were my quarry, YOU would be dead. Fuuuuck!!!" That's literally everything he's saying in the next thirty seconds.

I agree in that Legacy is awesome. But I have to disagree with you on the first Tron movie. I also watched Legacy first, but I loved everything about Tron 1 when I watched it few days ago.

Honestly, if you haven’t seen TRON: Legacy in 3D, you haven’t REALLY seen TRON: Legacy... I’m saving to hopefully one day buy a 4K 3D TV. Main reason is because when you watch a 3D movie on a 3D TV, the movie ends up being 1/2 the advertised resolution, half the frames for left eye, half for the right to make the 3D image, so a 1080P screen is actually 540P in 3D. A 4K 3D TV let’s a 1080p 3D Blu Ray actually be 1080P, or even up to 2160P, for each eye. They aren’t made anymore, we’re very expensive when they were being made and sold, and both factors make them VERY rare. It’s unfortunately the only way to see TRON: Legacy COMPLETELY as originally intended, UNLESS you have a movie theatre of your own with a 3D theatre copy and 3D projector/glasses. Watching under 1080p quality is insulting to this movie. I saw it 12 times in theatres because it was such an amazing experience. EASILY the BEST 3D movie so far.

To deage human Kevin Flynn, yes, I can understand that it doesn't work. But I believe it works for Clu. Being the villain and an incomplete copy of Kevin, functioning only off his programming, the cgi look holds an exception, in my opinion.

I've gone thru the same thing with the Cars series. I go thru waves of just watching them over and over. I also agree with your view on the original Tron. It was boring imo. I enjoyed it, but it was so 80's that I didn't understand what was happening. I honestly didn't know Clu was CGI until a year or 2 ago.

People need to send some love Joseph Trapanese's way instead of Daft Punk. Judging from their back catalog compared to his, I'd put good money on nearly everything epic about this soundtrack was written by Trapanese. DP are there for the attention grabbing byline and the few club/dance scenes. The poor fella keeps getting sidelined, he also worked the Oblivion OST and M83 steal the headline!
