Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to do battle for the undisputed this Saturday in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The odds makers have Fury slightly favored to win this matchup.
You would think that all of the loud talking hoopla from the Gypsy King would have more than a -110 favorite. Especially since Fury is the bigger man in this battle.
Fury said in the past that Usyk is a pumped up middleweight. A little man. I will crush him in 3 rounds or less. But the reality of the situation is this. Oleksandr Usyk is nothing to f**k with.
This dude can fight. And the whole boxing world knows it. Including Tyson Fury. This is why Fury lost so much weight for this fight. He looking to add speed to his gameplan.
Why? Because he's gonna need it. The weight that Fury gained versus Wilder won't help him against Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk is not Wilder. Usyk is not going to sit there and let Fury lean on him and put his weight on him.
Usyk has been calling for this fight for undisputed ever since he beat Anthony Joshua for the second time. He's not intimidated by the big mouth Gypsy. He wants all the smoke.
Fury is gonna need to keep up with the tempo and pace that Usyk will set from the beginning. Usyk fights n a fast pace rhythm, and he has great footwork. Usyk's only weakness is body shots.
If Fury ca land the perfect body shot. He can potentially hurt Usyk. Fury should try to box with Usyk. Because Fury is not the superior boxer in this fight. He has the size and reach. But that can be nullified with timing, footwork and speed.
And Fury knows this. This is why Fury has lost so much weight for this fight. He won't be able to bully Oleksandr the way he did Deontay Wilder. We haven't had a undisputed champion in the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis.
If Fury can't impose his physical will on Oleksandr... he won't win this fight in my opinion. he's gonna have to set the table and dominate early and often.
I'm picking underdog, Usyk to win this fight by Split Decision.
