The issue is that "USPS didn't deliver my mail for 2 months" isnt an acceptable reason to miss a 30 day response for court or an audit or even a bill. And you can't pick up your mail at the post office because they don't allow that unless you have previously set up a mail hold. And if you did, they're open 9 to 5, good luck picking up your mail on your lunch break.

you can't unless you put a mail hold on your address, then it has to be for more than 2 weeks before they will look for old mail to include and that takes about a week for them to do and they charge for extended mail holds.

If your dog is unattended and blocking my path to your mailbox, I'm not risking my safety to deliver your mail. I wouldn't deliver that block if my coworkers have already been attacked and the suspect wasn't in custody, would you? At the end of the day I have children that need me to make it home, it's not my job to risk my safety!

Just get a PO Box instead. We literally go a week or so without checking mail, everything that’s important comes via email for us. I know that isn’t for everyone but a PO Box would stop the problem of not receiving daily mail at your residence

The reason is because Santa Monica Police are independent contractor they're not like LAPD where they just respond to an incident. If you are a resident in the city of Santa Monica regardless if you live in a house or an apartment if you do not pay the break in an entering tax or the assault charge tax or the trespassing tax the police will not come out

I used to deliver mail in this area when I was starting in the USPS back in 1987 and it was a good & safe neighborhood back then. It's sad that times have changed for the worse. The first priority is to have the mail safely delivered and the Letter Carrier's safety is #1. The neighbor's should band together and visit this hostile person. The Postal Inspectors should of did an investigation in this matter. Sorry to have the Postal Patron's in this neighborhood to have to suffer for this inconvenience.

They work really hard and get treated bad. I don't blame them. They need to handle thier community better. Move the mail boxes if necessary have a few meetings to brain storm on how to fix this. Everyone knows the problem and just wants to complain. Make it safer and easier for everyone but mostly your carrier.
