Commercial use of a Steam account is, next to the typical things like Gambling, Fraud, Scams, Spamming and Cheating a reason to get banned or tradelocked, according to the offical Steam TOS.
But what does this mean for players, companies or traders? Can selling or buying CS Skins get you banned? And what is the legal reason behind that? I hired a lawyer to anwser most those questions.

Basically they probably wont and its in their best interest not to and even if they do it probably start with the 3rd party site steam bots. Understand the risk(small risk) and don't rely on money you put in being able to be withdrawn.

You don't even own the actual game bro, you purchase a license to play it. This applies to every single video game. This is why physical media is so important. Look at PS5 they're starting to take away some of people's digital purchases.

If you want to get into investing, then dabble in the stock market or silver and gold. Your generation is screwed up in the head trying to turn every product into an investment. 😂

When not one of them are real investments. I'm trying to save these kids from dumping thousands and thousands of dollars into skins that valve can make worthless at any time.

As an Austrian, I appreciate this video a lot! However: Just because Valve says something in their terms, doesn't mean it is constitutional and can uphold higher jurisdiction. I can see the law failing hard, when it escalates to higher courts of justice because it's a flawed law to begin with, that contradicts a lot of other actual laws put in place to protect users

@Missix12 Don't go crying to Valve when u lose your money one day. It's your own fault. You were pre warned. It's also against the TOS to sell skins for real money outside of the steam market. Its only a matter of time before the crackdown happens again. Csgolounge style crackdowns WILL happen again.
