I think its worth noting that, however slightly, Cell would be weaker than he was against Piccolo as he would not yet have absorbed the population of Ginger town.

What if Vegeta had learnt the Final Flash at this point? That would be an interesting scenario, as he would've been able to hurt Cell bad, as he showed he could do against a suppressed Perfect Cell who was far too quick for him and far too strong, but the Final Flash made the difference and maimed Cell.= with. Android 18 would have turned into dust no matter how much stamina advance she would've had.

I always thought that Vegeta should be more powerful than androids and imperfect cell after zenkai. 18 beat him pretty bad, broke both his arms and their power level was pretty close to begin with. Of course If zenkai boosts worked the same way it did in Saiyan/Namek saga...

Fun fact: Cell absorbed around 500,000,000 humans in less than 24 hours to be stronger than 17..

cell could not afford to engage vegeta even if he knew he could win. as soon as they started going at it, piccolo would head right there, and cell's "thing" during this arc was hiding from piccolo long enough that he could absorb enough humans to surpass piccolo and absorb 17. plus, it's extremely unlikely cell could beat this vegeta FAST enough to run away before piccolo arrives. i know Z fighters' travel speeds, even when rushing, are abysmally slow compared to their fighting speed, but it's still insanely fast and if i'm mistaken piccolo was literally still scouting this very area

I always took it that 18 and Vegeta were about equal but she goaded him into wasting energy in the start of the fight... While he thought he would tire her out she was actually working at his stamina, so when she went full power, Vegeta was only able to trade blows on equal footing for a little bit and then ended up on the back foot and took the L once he gassed... all that to say, if the way this fight went was how I interpreted it, a post 18 Vegeta would crush no boosts imperfect cell due to the statement from 16... It seemed like even after she went full power Vegeta only fell behind later, remember, neither 17 or 18 could sense energy, so they were going off the same models that cell was when 17 said 18 wasn't strong enough, and his confidence was borne from being stronger than 18, and thus further beyond where the thought the rest of them were in power... I think that while the androids were stronger than the "gang" the gap was more due to the energy hacks than raw power, and if Vegeta weren't showing off for the rest of them and living out his "I'm better than Goku" power trip, he may have just done something savage and ended 18 straight up. But in trying to overpower an android in a "let me draw you in and prove my superiority over you" kind of fight, you're destined to lose. It basically requires the opponent to either eclipse them in strength or land a lucky shot while they're still fresh if on equal footing.

I think Vegeta's raw power OFTEN is higher than his enemies. The reason he catches Ls is all down to his attitude and enemies outsmarting him.

It was never said Cell was weaker than 18. I believe they were equal in power. I think Vegeta and Cell would be closer than Vegeta and 18, due to Cell not having unlimited energy. Imperfect Cell- 230,000,000 SS Vegeta- 225,000,000

I don't think Vegeta wins. Cell doesn't have to run after hitting him with a solar flare. Just swoop in, one poke, all gone.
