People who receive work visas and abide by them should be given an express lane in terms of legal immigration. They deserve it and have shown good faith and a willingness to work. Many illegal aliens come on student visas and they NEVER show up for class! Yet, universities in the past have been uncooperative in reporting they did not show. This would be helpful. Some of the greatest threats come from those with visa overstays - at least 3 of the 9/11 terrorists were on visa overstays. When there is a visa overstay, there should be penalties for doing so. The State Department does place some requirements before granting visas, however, obviously there is lack of enforcement. I would not normally respond as much as I am regarding comments; however, you are the type of person we need as political LEADERSHIP to recognize a problem - such as illegal immigration -- take one piece of the problem at a time (which includes current policies and lack of enforcement) and then fix it. Be determined to fix it. The problem we face today has been going on for decades and has finally become a “train wreck.” The world we live in is NOT the world we lived in the past; so -- change the laws, the policies, the strategies and support necessary to resolved illegal immigration as much as possible while promoting legal immigration as much as it makes good sense for America.
