On the latest episode of the Cedric Maxwell Podcast, Cedric, Josue Pavon, and Gary Washburn discussed the way Kendrick Perkins is perceived in Boston after comments he made on ESPN throughout the season.
Notably, Brian Scalabrine, who was Perkins' teammate on the Celtics 2008 Championship Team, said publically that Perkins wasn't invited to the parade. Scalabrine was joined by former teammates Paul Piece, Sam Cassell, Eddie House, and Leon Powe on a float.

He got to keep it real!!! How real was he keeping it when he was jocking the Knicks all year long. “Big bodied Brunson”!!! Perk decided that he wanted to join those clowns down in Connecticut. They (and he) thought it would be controversial and increase ratings if he went all in against the Celtics. It was a gradual process and he started doing less appearances on the local Boston shows, and this year he went completely off the rails. Adios Perk. We never needed you in the first place. 1:36 -- we need to get this straight. perk said, "if we take mazzulla's brain and put it in a bird, the bird would fly backwards." that isn't a bird that's functioning properly - that bird would be better off with it's own brain, thus insinuating that joe mazzulla is worse than a bird brain. a statement like this is supremely disrespectful and unnecessary, and it is nowhere near 'keeping it real' if you're comparing it to, "anthony davis might request a trade if things down pan out with jj reddick." scal didn't do anything wrong. perk needs to be a man and take responsibility for the words that come out of his mouth.

for sure, the casuals could have been confused... and last year was a mess, because few fans factored in that Joe M. was throw in as interim HC after the Ime scandal: zero time to plan, to draw up schemes, to chose his own staff, zero time for anything AND he still got the Cs back to the ECF. this year it felt much more even keeled all year, and the Cs were #1 pretty early on. one thing i've learned about Cs fans, especially at games, they shout louder for great defensive plays than even great slams, and this team has some major players on D. can't wait for 2024-25
