@lunadrea
@lunadrea 2 жыл бұрын
@LUNAtic emphasis on "can be" of course I don't think everyone who takes in these children are bad but in looking at statistics these children bounce from household to household and commonly experience trauma, they end up developing mental health issues; 80% of them to be exact. I commend those like your family members who treat their children right but its good to open up and talk about these issues that have been going on for decades like in Marilyn's case.
@freddywesly
@freddywesly 2 жыл бұрын
@LUNAtic as someone who has worked closely with the foster care system for a decade, you're romanticizing it A LOT. there are not "a few bad people here and there" -a huge chunk of the people who agree to foster do it for the money they get. a lot of people argue with me "well they don't even make that much" it doesn't matter. any money they can get their hands on is worth it to feed their addictions, not the kids -the requirements to becoming a foster parent are basically "have a roof over your head" -social workers are somewhat detached because they're overloaded with cases and underpaid (not their fault). -child predators use the foster care system as easy access to children. the amount of children who get sexually abused in their foster homes is sickening. the system is broken. there are good people in the system with loving homes, but THEY are the rare cases. believing it's all sunshine and rainbows is only hurting the kids who need the system to be reformed. please stop defending the system and start trying to change it like your sister and her husband are doing

Is nobody going to talk about how broken and cruel the system for these kids are? Its not getting better. In fact, it will forever be broken. These children are left ostracised, starved, and abused. Sure, some ppl manage to find good families. Majority of them? They end up rped, murdered, and abused with no one to help them. They stay silent about their abuse, as nobody will hear them or even believe them. The traumas are ignored, their plights to be heard are translated as “difficult” and “having a problematic attitude”. As adults we need to do everything in our power to help them. We need to make a change for them. It doesnt matter if its a small or big difference, we need to. Whether its volunteering or actually getting involved in the legislative process, everything is important.

The problem is you get these horrible families that look at foster care as easy money. But most children that go into foster care do actually find a good family. And a lot of them end up being able to go back to their parents because they turned their lives around. That is the most common outcome. Not everyone is so lucky, but for the majority they are not abused and are in loving families.

Yeah she had complex PTSD which manifests a lot like bpd. Hence those around her thought she was a nutter. Not forgetting she was ppl pleaser and folk knew she was passed around for sex at different vulnerable points which tainted at least her own opinion of how others viewed her. I ve the same diagnosis after being forced into the sex trade 14yrs ago. I was eventually hidden in a refuge. The real hard time was how ppl treated me in my recovery. Witchunted as some sort of scarlet woman, whore of Babylon or nonce. Women, men, various cultures and creeds. Even think I don't deserve my dog. So am moving shortly where they ll never find me - the stigma is real, hasn't changed and I fear never will. Britney is the modern day Marylin. They re stories inspire many woman stuck under barriers to entry and that have fallen through the usual nets ppl assume exist when they don't in actual fact. My mom was in foster care for a bit. She was an early baby boomer baby. She told me that the biological child of her foster mom was nice and sweet in front of her mom. When bedtime came and my mom thought she was going to share a bed with the girl she told her. "You are not sleeping in my bed😈! You can sleep on the floor!" It's actually really sad the story behind this. Marilyn Monroe's mother was a paranoid schizophrenic who was frequently placed in an asylum throughout Marilyn's childhood. And because the father was never in the picture Marilyn had no choice, but to be placed in foster care and at one point in an orphanage. Add never having a stable parental figure in her life and the childhood trauma it makes complete sense why she would have behavioral issues.

She was never “adopted” at all. She went to numerous foster “families”. She married at sixteen because her last Foster mother was moving. She didn’t want Marilyn to go to another foster home. Because she had experienced such abuse in numerous of her other homes. So Marilyn married a neighbor of theirs who was in the military, Jim/Jimmy Doherty. And for the Millennial and Gen Z who are about to comment. ‘Well, if her Foster Mother cared so much about Marilyn/Norma Jean, why would she be moving away??’ This was during WWII, more than 80 years ago. Times were different!

Norma jean, often known as Marilyn Monroe, had an alcoholic, drug user of a mom, her dad had disappeared, and she was abused by her real mom and foster parents, think about that❤️🥺

Someone I love dearly had a dysfunctional childhood. I know how much they mess up in their childhood because they lack someone to tell them something is wrong. But later on realise as they grow up, just how much they have suffered. We can never judge someone who went through that level of trauma. They need healing. A lot of healing.

I don't think it's a bad behavior but maybe a misunderstood child. She grow up in a dysfunctional family, she grew up without a mother and father figure to love and guide her. Children who experience this kind of situations usually hard to understand and i think there's an impact on that to her making her having misunderstood behavior

No. Ever heard she was bipolar or had borderline personality disorder? Normies don't know how to deal with those things. I'm not being offensive. It's a lot, professional help is needed. But she didn't have what we have in this day when it comes to mental health care. It's far from perfect. Physical ailments get more advanced attention.
