I have personally owned & or lived with 7 different breeds of dogs. I currently own a Female Boerboel & a Male Shiba Inu. I can say without a doubt the Boerboel is by far the most impressive breed of dog I have ever known. Highly intelligent, fast and agile, strong as all hell & phemenomenal loyal guard instincts make her an amazing specimen. Wishing you all the best & many years of good health to such a beautiful dog. Socializing is so important. I love mastiffs like Boerbols and Corsos. I can play with them all day.

We have a 3 year old male Borbel and just picked out our 2nd pup last wkend (an all black female). I can't wait to bring her home!! I've always loved Mastiffs but the Borbel is exactly the kind of dog I want defending my home, family and property. Plus I often camp/hike alone. These dogs make me feel very safe from 2/4 legged threats. Amazing animals!

We have a male boerboel - Chimo - in Kenya and he is GREAT. He is in love with my 21 year old daughter and a great family friend. He's become part of the family and even sleeps with us in our beds. He's very gentle and sweet with little children (all the neighborhood kids love him and he loves them) and is also a very loyal and loving protector. Plus I don't have to fear anything when my daughter is walking a 65kg boerboel!

Greetings from Houston,Texas. I've had multiple dogs since I was a child and I have only owned muts which have been great. Boerboels, Cane Corso, Presa Canario, or pretty much any of dog breeds in the mastiff family are in the running for me to own 1 or 2 of them within the next few years. I really enjoyed this info and will carry some serious weight in the decision I make.

I had to put my best friend Simon down today. 3.5 year old 170lb male boerboel. The most loyal friend I have ever had. So well trained and well behaved people always stopped and commented. Loved him so much! About 4 months ago he attacked a smaller dog who growled at him. Since that time he became super dominant would no longer accept anyone but me. Started to attack my wife and even threaten my adult children. Always so loving with me. I have a big hole in my heart, I loved that dog because he loved me so much.

These dogs are to heavy & slow, they’re very powerful but a bit lazy, Rottweilers are the pinnacle for personal protection, boerbels have they’re uses but are not agile enough or have the same level of energy or ferocity.

Really like the ethical standards of the breeders. Very knowledgeable of the subject.

I love boerboel I live in Holland and in a house not a very big garden but I take my boerboel every day for big walks I know preferably it would be better for her to have a big garden but she is sweet and stubborn as she should be I have no problems regarding to her temperament she lives in my house and sleeps on the sofa and I never want an other breed again

I owned akitas for 30 years my last died the day I moved to Virginia I bought my first boerboel she was a dream she died on her 7th birthday of massive heart failure I waited and 8mth ago I got another boerboel puppy it’s been a nightmare the breeder sold me a long haired ( it’s a genetic trait) I’m a retired veteran ( disabled) and for me I paid a lot of money In the process of getting shots ( 3 1/2 months )I found out she will never have a full life the vet said she has genetic kidney disease and the bigger and stronger she gets it will kill her I haven’t spoken to the breeder what would a good breeder do?? I think people exaggerate sometimes when they say, oh this dog man eater, oh that dog is a maneater. This dog here, is a true man eater. It will fight a lion to be able to eat you as food.
