Another Awesome time hanging out exploring in Central Otago, more beautiful Autumn colours, swimming in the blue lake at St Bathans, and hiking 10km out on the Otago rail trail over the viaducts and old train tunnels.
Running up at Flat hills conservation park exploring the shist rock and trails at Butchers Dam.

We've just done a lot of this. We stayed at St Bathans in the Domain and did the walk to the hotel and the lake. We loved that place! We also rode two sections of the rail trail and absolutely loved the area. We will be back for sure. Every time we are near water now I say "Mike and his kids would swim here".

we did see one couple and a family, I think biking to the Guardian post. But otherwise pretty quiet I was expecting to see a few more people around. It's a very long trail I'm not even sure where it starts these days. I think they are making the trails connect up all the way to the coast.
