To be honest, I don't have a problem if someone does comedy on my religion. However, if you choose to do so, you should also develop a thick skin to tolerate comedy on your religion. For your information, these comedians never make fun of other religions or gods; they always intentionally target Hinduism. I have an issue with this hypocrisy. Comedy is good when you make fun of human nature, but when you consistently target only one religion in the name of comedy, that's not comedy.

Yoga is not just physical exercise. I think you need to study more about this subject. Some countries tried to ban yoga because of their religious beliefs but it has backfired. Yoga is for everyone.

Regarding jokes, From an Indian perspective, the problems have never been jokes. The debate in India has always been why jokes are only centered around Hinduism, that alone would not have been an issue either. But few people started calling out the fact that for certain jokes someone made on Christianity (which was from AIB) iirc , they had to apologize to the church, no one makes jokes on prophet or Allah for very obvious reasons. That shying away from joking on other communities made the Hindus more confrontational. Most of the debate in India when these things happen, the very first thing i usually hear or read from Hindus is, why not joke on Islam?. And it also has nothing to do with minorities, since sikhs have been made fun of in movies and in comedy shows etc. But for some reason, Hindu gods and their social structure are okay to joke about, but Christianity and Islam are not.

Another point which he missed was that the traditional Indian culture never had the chance to modernise. If the foreign cultures weren't imposed on India the indigenous culture then could've evolved into something more relatable to the modern era. But that didn't happen and now we only have the western alternative if we choose to live the modern way. At best we can adopt best practices from both and create a composite culture that has elements from both Indian and western traditions. 🙏

Only some of Yoga poses you can call them as exercise poses as western eyes but most yoga practices are not anywhere similar to any exercise , like most basic Yoga position that we learn is Padmasana but that just tip of the iceberg how complicated it can be , there are atleast 40 Different types like Supta Padmasana/Matsyasana , Urdhva Padmasana , Baddha Padmasana Padma Bakasana . Urdhva Padmasana etc And every each one of them has its own benefits so its a bit complicated than western society think

The problem with standup comedy in India is that the jokes are made only on Hindu gods, traditions, etc. Not on Islam or Christianity-at least not to huge extent or super offensive. Also if you make jokes on Islam or Muslims that are as offensive to them as the level of jokes made on Hindu tradition, they will be beheaded. I still remember when AIB(a standup comedy group) had to apologize to a Catholic Church for making a slight joke of Christianity. They never will apologize to Hindus because we are very tolerant and don't kill people for making jokes.

*Well primarily, the Roman catholic churches in Slovakia see Yoga as against Christian beliefs.* That goes for Evangelical Church... basically all roman, catholic, lutheran beliefs. But historically, Yoga is even older than the written history of Slovakia (prev Czechoslovakia-Austria/Hungary). Forget countries, Yoga is older than all the religions. Also, it's not a religious practice although it has it's roots in new Hinduism. All the three Abrahamic religions have no relation with Asian religions like Hinduism, Taoism etc. But the animosity within the three semitic Abrahamic religions also spilled as intolerance for other religions. And to my knowledge India is the only place wherein Jews, Christians and Islam (all the 3 semitic Abrahamic religions) live together with all of their sects alongside the majority Hindus. Perhaps, even the western education (not modern) could not end the religious intolerance within the Abrahamic faiths. But a third world country (third world...again a colonial and racial term although the UN has said there are only 3 divisions - developing, developed and under-developed nations) like India showcases the religious harmony. And something like Yoga which unites people across the faiths is an immediate red flag. I don't own a dining table. I and all my extended family prefer to sit on the floor, to eat our meals. I am not poor. I do own a cot, but I prefer to sleep on the floor. Yoga is not exercise, it's a breathing technique to relax the muscles for meditation. If you see any exercise at that pose the yoga teacher says about how to breathe and relax your body for meditation. Yoga came from yajurveda which are bramhin community practice for many years before prayer to relax their mind and muscle.

Gym exercise, general exercise and yoga are three different things, because all exercises are based on different body postures. Yoga is different because it helps in overcoming mental illnesses like depression and anxiety along with physical exercise.👍

Yoga came 5000 years during Ramayana time. Most of the modern exercises and even in martial art also yoga exist. Yoga is not only about physical excerise but also mental excerise like meditation. The main objective is to connect the mind & soul in the same state within the body. There are 7 Chakra that can be activated through meditation with proper guidance of gurus and coaches who knows well. I do yoga & everyday. Even my friend who is doing yoya everyday feel the change & reduce weight in short period of time when it took him long time in running & jogging. It is that much effective.

In every culture there is a segment of population who have self hatred. In india it comes mostly from people of abrahamic faith. They see us as "pagans" and "barbaric" and someone who must be destroyed. Abrahamic faiths wiped out every other civilization in history. Egyptian, Greeks, Vikings, Romans, Persians, native Americans etc etc. Hindu civilization is the last standing "pagan" civilization. They are not bad people. About the stand up shows, the issue is that the jokes are only made on hindus. If one were to crack a joke on some other religion (you know whom i am talking about) the person wouldnt see another day. So often the non hindu stand up comics can crack a joke on hindu gods but won't have the guts to crack a joke on their religion and god either fearing for their own life or simply because they see no flaws in themselves. Hence the issue ain't about cracking a joke but its about being a hypocrite and having jokes on gods of just hindus.

Actually in 1947 when India became independent, all countries were friendly towards India and wanted it as an ally, however, the political leadership at that time (congress party under Nehru) was so bad that they made all of those countries hostile and unfriendly towards India. America for the longest time tried to give India UNSC seat and Nuclear technology but nehru kept rejecting them.
