As with so many other "problems"; government's answer is to "do something" that - near-universally - cannot reasonably be presumed to have actually been designed to address the problem. That is, government's "fix" was never going to "fix" anything.

I believe that it lies in oneself. The decision from our beginning to our end and all in between rest on the individual choices he or she makes. No matter what race, gender or social standard one is. Our souls,hearts or common sense what ever you need to call it. We all know right from wrong even as a child. Your future is in your own hands. Just my thoughts.

Assuming I am talking to a black woman here, please is every black a criminal in the US? If the answer is no , could you please ask yourself how well educated blacks are doing in the US as a collective. Forget about non college educated blacks. They don’t exist in Sowell’s world.

They confessed to the attack and other attacks the same night, but probably didn't attack the victim in the trial. The discrepancy likely arises because they did so many attacks they misremembered that one particular attack. They weren't "innocent" at all. They just got caught up in another guy's attack of the victim in the trial as a coincidence. I say they "probably" didn't attack that one victim, but they confessed to "helping" during the rapes without actually having sex with the victim. The prison time was justice, just for the wrong crime.

I am always proud of intelligent black peoples. Yes we have to fight. However, slavery jim crow civil rights era dismantling black families placing drugs in our communities by cia. Prison pipeline did happen We ate still being lynched. So let’s look to our Creator and each other Read The Kerner Report.
