Gears of War E Day is currently set up to make history… it is time for this franchise to reclaim its place as a top game. I would only hope for the soonest release but still want them to make sure this game is as perfect as they’re describing it out to be. I’m loving the strong come back from The Coalition!

Its still crazy how they listen. Not a lot of studios do that. I'm excited for this game after most of the og gears head were complaining about not being dark and gritty as it use to be. I'm glad E-day is a thing because now we get to introduce new players to this universe which I'm excited about. P.S-I hope a berserker isn't in the game and plans to scare the shit out of me lol

There was 2 things I was looking for with the showcase, Fable release date and Gears 6. Now, it's not Gears 6, but honestly I think this was the better choice to revitalize the community. And it's sounding like a banger so far. They need to drop some gameplay.

I played about 10 hours of gears 5 multi-player over the weekend and had so much fun. I think a lot of that is just the core mechanics of gears of war. The shotgun is too powerful from range imo. 2 shot down range needs toned down @@dillonkirk9868

I'd like if they add the old gore quality back, beast mode, and I hope the multiplayer doesn't have that rainbow fortnite feeling. Also I think having the combat not rely as much on wall bouncing would be a better change, the netcode was already awful in 5 so hopefully it's better here

I feel like they pushed back 6 to explain more the Queen Myrrah/Locust Connection. Which dives deeper into why Queen Myrrahs consciousness still lives through the hive. If that makes sense. Basically E-Day is a kiss to the fans (by giving back that classic element the franchise was missing when gears of war 4 and 5 dropped) but not THY goodbye kiss as that’s Gears 6. & to be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t working on two games at once. Gears 6 will probably drop 2026 or 2027.

From the trailer, it would seem they added more work to the melee combat system introduced in 5 (Enemies pinning players to the ground, knife combos, executions etc)

Few notes. From what I've seen gears is supposed to come out before fable. Fable is due this year? From what I've read games that have trailers like this usually come out 6 months to a year later. Is this set in stone? No but I sticking to a year. I'm hoping they go on epics time line and about every 3 years for a new gears game.

I haven't been at all interested or enticed by a gears campaign since gears 3 if I'm being honest. This is exciting to me though I'm actually interested to see what they come up with. For the multiplayer side I really hope they keep the gameplay smooth and somehow get rid of reaction shotting. There should be a bit of a downside to doing "UP-A" maneuvers around cover. It's all easier said than done but they need some way to make it more advantageous to play from cover and use team strategy. Gears 5 as it is right now, if you're a significantly better than everyone on the other team, then it's just over. GOW3 wasn't like that.

So hyped for this Gears Of War game! Didn't care that much for the fourth. Definitely didn't like the fifth. I still play the first three. Especially the third, horde mode with my son, my brother, my sister and our friend. We get together in person with multiple tv's, like back in the day. And we order a bunch of Crazybread and pizza. This decision could be made during Kait's nightmare (similar to beginning as in G5), and we will continue the story with Dell or JD. I hope TC won't make his death canon. We can also look at Marcus' perspective. He lost fellow gears, his brother Dom, his wife and now he's about to lose his son. That's too much for him, he doesn't deserve such pain

Hold up. Day 1, gears of war 1 player. I have high hopes, but low expectations. This is still TC making the game. They fucked up the active reload system and stream lined wall bouncing. Plus they got worse with map design and output from 4 to 5. This will be my first gears(of war) game i dont pre order. If it wasn't for game pass, i wouldn't even try it before watching A LOT of ganeplay. Its okay to be excited but damn, keep yourself tempered.

Just please remember everyone, its only a trailer. A trailer can be hype, but until we actually see gameplay mechanics for ourselves, we can't just throw ourselves at this. And trust me, i've been playing since the release of Gears of War 1, I love this game series as much as all of you. We can be excited for the timeline but don't lose yourself in this and have over expectations. We need to be realistic with what the past has shown us and remain skeptical so they feel no choice but to stay on the right path.

False. Yes, Judgement wasn't greatest Gears game but when they came out with 4 and 5 then those became the worse Gears of War games and made us think that Judgement wasn't that bad but also wasn't good. If someone is new to Gears of War, then I would highly recommend reading up on the lore of Gears, so you're not confused. Because it's just like any other long series or even movies like Star Wars or Lord of the ring, you got to look up the lore (Canon) on them because they usually tell a bigger story than in the games or movies. My theory for the 4 characters in this new gears might be Marcus, Dom, Tai and Padrick because we already know they were once a team before Cole and Braid and I think I might know the boss in this game or maybe the few of them that might show up since we know who they are and I'm not talking about Raam, Skorge, Karn or even ( I hope) Jermad because we know very little of Jermad and it would awesome to get more information about him.

@@Avexys Small essay warning and IN MY OPINION: MP-wise: Judgement wasn't trying to mimic any previous title. Epic knew removing DBNO and adding verticality was going to be a massive change. I'm not sure it's fair to compare judgement to G3 directly. It also had an under appreciated movement system. However, G5 was built to mimic G4 - and essentially G3 - but plays poorly to me in that weapons are over-tuned to compensate for fast movement. However, that same movement isn't as impactful compared to previous titles - especially like movement in G1/UE and 2. The slower wall slides and low impact wall cancels punish the higher skilled players who have strong outplay ability, and strangely level the playing field for those with weaker skillsets. I feel G5 is a safer and somewhat slower game with a lot more LT shots from distance. Story-wise: I think G5 was a bigger let down than GJ. GJ had a uniquely built campaign that delivered a decent pre-G1 story where G5's open world and not-as-strong plot made it hard to connect to - and the choice at the end making it confusing for the next title canonically whether JD or Del would be alive. Just some of my thoughts. I don't love GJ, but it also doesn't get enough credit. IMO: G2>G3>UE>G4>GJ>G5

They didnt listen to us, they listened to the money. Gears 4-5 were busts. So they going back to what made them money. Gears of war, not gears.

I’m praying they dont try an add cod/halo infinite sliding mechanics!! I’m hoping a lot of known community members can voice their opinion on this issue as well. Keep gears movement OG style!! Please coalition don’t add sliding! Weapon sliding yes but not as a basic maneuver

Hopefully they take all that bouncing out and go back to original also no cancel because got characters moving like got boosters on there feet absolutely garbage
