Thanks Jamie - too bad I missed this video when I first started. I did have a mouth injury, it was caused by a combination of plucking too hard with my largest jaw harp and catching the reed against one of my front teeth or it could have been caused by accidentally biting an almond and shoving it up into the back of one of my front teeth. Not sure what caused the majority of the injury (thinking both contributed) but I'm finally back to playing again. It's taken about a week for me to recover. I probably could have gone to the dentist but I was hoping things would heal on its own which it finally did but I was quite concerned for several days nor could sleep very well either with the pain. So just a word of caution to folks, be careful how you're plucking the harp and don't get too aggressive as a beginner.

Utterly disappointed with my "Trophy Co" snoopy harp. I had no idea I was buying actual junk. I wanted one of these instruments for many years, finally saw one in a store, and was so excited.

Of course I cheaped out and got a Snoopy harp, and you're right, it's pretty useless. I did take a pair of vice grips to it and narrowed up the gaps on either side of the tongue and it helped a little bit. But then I got a decent vargan, and the difference is quite massive. The tongue isn't as stiff and it sounds SO much better and LOUDER. So to all of you out there thinking you suck, just get a nicer instrument (and if you practice and still suck, then I guess it is you).

Is the plucker meant to ring when you play?

Just like my former neighbour who tried to show me how to play with my harps. Not a sound did he make.

my cheap 5 euro danmoi i dont need teeth and therefore can play much more tones because of mouth flexibility, i now ordered a glazyrin herdsman and its catastrophic to play, only with teeth contact there is any tone possible but i cant do much scale because as i leave one milimeter it stops or metal rings or else, any recommendations for this 64€ piece of trash?
