What are the 5 things you need to know before starting a career in construction? Why you should start in construction and what steps to take to grow your career? Civil site engineer work.

I’m a trainee engineer at Hinkley Point C, and man, I can say that starting out as a trainee engineer at the biggest project in Europe, is very beneficial. Loads of stuff to learn very quickly. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking to learn.

Hi! You need to check how to get permit to work, or a student visa etc. Check company called Bylor I know they were looking for people and helping with the work permit. I don't really know other companies. Please try to check requirements to get some visa for her 👍👍

Im very exited to learn from u sir im from india and i love construction work because of i am working with my father in our own construction company in india i am site supervision there and i also started work as labour and then bricklayer and well experience theny dad and brother give me whole site i was handle and finished 5 + big projects of 100s of housing society and 2 5 floor building completed in India right now im in uk and learn uk style construction work

Sirrrr.... I am new in UK on dependent Visa and after weeks of distress now I am quite confident after watching your videos... And become a fan of yours.. your are really a Guru 🙂😜.. so Guru now I am stuck at point that whether to go for green or white card of CSCS as I am graduate civil engineer from my home country having 3 years of experience.. but I found that white card is demanding complex demand such as ENIC statement.. Please check as your diploma might not need sending to ENIC. Would be better going for a white one, but this will take bit more time (and money). You can always start on green and then you will see, but to get the white one later you would have to pass the exam again. Generally it would be better if you go for a white one 😁

Depends really, I think red one is for free now. For green one you have to do a one day course I believe. The only problem with a red one is everyone knows you’re starting in the industry 😁

Hi Flo Ri! The best would be find a job as an engineer assistant/chainman as there you will learn the most. Can do some setting out course as well and look for assistant engineer position.

Hi Mihail! As a setting out engineer in your case, you have experience and know how to use total station and know the drawings, so better as a setting out. Try both agencies and companies, agencies are not that bad here and they often have good jobs too. Good luck!

Hi! If you work on site it's great, speak with people there, try to get a PM, or a senior engineer and tell them what you want to do, there is a big chance they will have a start for you and tell what would you need and in this case you don't really need the course as you will learn on site ( maybe my course when ready 😉) If you want to look for a job somewhere else having a course might help you, but it won't teach you much really, but get you a 'paper'. You can get a job, but still it has to be a junior position first - assistant engineer, junior engineer. All the best 💪

No. If you look at the job offers they typically put it there, but in reality you don't need. I know many engineers without the degree and that's great here in UK. As I said before try to speak with ppl on your site and try to get a job with them first 👍

Hi! Try to look for engineer's position first and groundworks and frames are the best as there is a need for people. Once you have some experience there you can look for something else, but that's the easiest way at the moment as there is a need for engineers😁

Hi! Sorry for late reply. Try going to sites and ask for work, tell them you worked a bit etc etc. Worse case try to get the job as a labourer first and you'll quickly jump for the bricks. Are you based in London?

If you can't find an assistant, or junior engineer position for a longer time, you can go always go and work on site in any other trade, know the people and try to get into engineering.

Hi! No problem with changing, you can start here as a junior engineer and start from setting out. Experience people asking for is from UK, so they know you worked in UK reality and standards, however it's always good you have experience in construction anyway. Your degree should be fine here. You do not have to study further to get a job, but you have to find a job anyway. You will need a permit to work in UK.

If your school is done in UK that's all, but you will have to send them copy of your diploma once getting the card. For now you will have to pass MAP CSCS exam 👍👍

Driving license's got nothing to do with CSCS card, you don't need it to work on site, but you will need a cscs card for it 😁
