WOT gives me a sense that there is a hidden hand at work always, making me miss shots, or my team or the other team miss shots, or shots not doing much when they do hit or just the opposite depending on the hidden hand. I never get that same feeling in WT. Plus I don't see a lot of 1942 tanks fitting 1960's tanks or even 1950's tanks. A Tiger still has a powerful presence to it in WT that is totally lost in WOT. WOT has to many "magical items" you can equip that can make you tank invisible, or faster or shoot faster or hit harder or all that at once that only folks with the 29,000 battles have who aren't supposed to need them in their already OP tanks. With a team of 4 of them on one side the match is over in less than 5 min. Everyone has the same stuff in WT for the most part and it shows. The matches are much more of a even game and fun. When I first started playing WT and didn't know what was what I could at least see who was shooting me and where they were and could back up or something. In WOT my first game I was hit like five times and never saw a tank on the enemy side even on the mini map, I died in like 3 sec into the match my first tier 3 game.

Man this game used to get me through the days and nights with the buddies trolling people with KV-2s and the ELC before they removed it, I tried to play it again recently and eh. It’s better in the memories. Shoot I remember when everyone used to make fun and universally hate gold ammo spammers. Now everyone spams it

I remember playing WoT for years. From little games on my dad's laptop to my own games on the Xbox. I played for years.. and only ever got to the Hellcat on the American tree. The minute War Thunder, with its cool amphibious tanks and multiple turrets and planes and integrated air-ground combat, ported to Xbox I jumped ship. I don't regret a thing, except occasionally I do miss the atmosphere of so WoT maps, like the Scottish one(?) with the chasm in the middle and whichever one was dark, wet, bumpy and flat and had a castle in the dead centre.. I play WOT for 8 years, I have all tier 10 tanks, i stop playing end uninstal game 3 month ago. 1 WAR GAMING KILL GAME, WHIT CHEATERS. 2 Before you could play without a premium account, now even with premium it's very difficult. 3. Physics is terrifying. 4. The maps are desperate. 5. without cheating modes the game has become unthinkable. 6. Instead of focusing on the real battle of tanks, they're just looking at how to take more money from you. The game becomes more and more unrealistic, intended for children from 12 to 14 years....

I'm F2P, never paid for a game or made serious ingame purchase. After few years of playing and way too many matches i reached tier X. In WT i got to top tier in 3k matches, and costs of tanks wasnt serious issue. While grinding i could save a lot of money. Thats fundamental mistake in WOT. You need to use premium ammo to pen a lot meta tanks and you lose big amount of money, even before buying tank you wanted.

I like your idea for buffing the losing team. In order to make this fair to the winning team, I propose that the experience/credits score muliplier of win>loss be changed to: win against buff>close win (no buffs)>win with buff>loss against buff>close loss (no buffs)>loss with buff. Also, any damage/kills caused directly by a buff (e.g. airstrike) should not add to a player's personal score. Therefore a player might refuse a buff if he thinks he can win without it.

I think I the last one makes Some sense when your at a major loss, though I think the matchmaking fixes it, because the reinforcements would be nice if your team was straight up bad, though I don’t think it should come in for closer fights where your team was closely outplayed by a good flank or the sort

The way accuracy I’m WoT is mind boggling in how poorly thought out it is. I remember the Panther being an extremely frustrating tank to play simply because RNG would constantly screw me over as what was supposed to be an extremely accurate gun would always hit to the very edge of the reticle while the gun itself was extremely mediocre in damage. A lovely combination of rarely hitting and then doing a pitiful amount of damage when it did hit and pen. I remember by the end of playing that thing I just shoved the 105 gun in and played it like a very weird and mobile derp tank.

To get to your first point however im not sure i agree. Losing a bit of damage in echange for a chance to pen a tank that relies solely on its armor is a fair trade given how the type 5 has very poor mobility and reaction time. You can manoeuver around the map, pick a different spot and so on while he is lumbering around getting flanked left and right. If on top of giving you a chance to bypass his armor we also allow you to deal your full potential damage; what does the type 5 gets in return? Its not like hes suddenly going to be able to gain significant mobility

I liked wot but i left at 8 tier because i was just angry that i can't win a single fight even when i was shooting at low armor places. Only thing i was good at was deflecting or blocking bullets

The problem is that in the past 5 years almost no updates were made to make the game more fun. All additions are there to: 1. Made the game more addictive (not enjoyable. Addictive.) 2. Make us pay more. All the mechanics are basically copy and paste from top grossing mobile free to play games. Daily missions, ranked battles, shorter game sessions because of EBRs, gold ammo and simplified tank models, casino Christmas boxes all have one on common - they make you return to the game more often and spend more cash.

I really enjoy the usage of the trollface post-post ironically.

Played WoT 2011-2014. Always surprised there are still people subjecting themselves to this game. The problems that made WoT an unpleasant experience back then are still there, while WG added new issues to the mix.

Hell, I remember coordinating a fake "He's in [coordinates]" with a teammate to lure enemies into a trap. That shit was great.

I remember I spent years grinding out the Grille because it looked cool, I got it and it was alright, then like after 2 months of me having it, WG nerfed the shit out of it, and then I quit

I always thought if you hit the end of the barrel that the next shot the enemies barrel should explode and they run around the rest of the game with no gun. Hey I was bad at this game and had nothing to do but try to shoot the enemy in the barrel.

This is why I stick to War Thunder. It's a different kind of pain

One of the reasons all chat got removed was because dead players would just tell the enemy team the position of their allies. For me, a solution to this would be to make dead players have their own chat, and be muted to players still in the game.

well in war thunder we have this thing called ghost shells and volumetric. either your shell goes straight through doing nothing or it hits 2 plates at a joint and the game adds up their thickness so you get fucked over and non pen. oh and close air support

Yeah, the rng with accuracy is something I have beef with. I thought that once I got the most accurate gun in the game all of that would be behind me. I was proven wrong when trying to save a team mate from an M103 in my Grille 15. It's true that I never missed a shot on the M103 since all of the tank covered the outer aiming circle. I could not miss, but the game still found places for every single one of my shots to bounce... off an M103. It wasn't until the M103 beat my team mate that the game finally allowed my shots to go where I was aiming. "Thanks game, but it's too late. I've lost my spotter and I am not going to win against this guy once he get's to me." I wish the game gave me that kind of protection. "Go ahead, do as you please. You are untouchable in this match. I'm gonna fling the rounds of every opposing player absolutely everywhere." I am absolutely convinced that the game has decided which team will win as soon as it has put the teams together, and only every once in a while are you ever able to overcome the game's planning.

I was both a beta tester for WoT and WT. the biggest beef I had with WoT was the invisible tanks. if you play it, you know. INFURIATING. looking at an enemy well away and all of a sudden he just goes *pop* gone. invisible. ridiculous. don't have to deal with that in WT.

One of my relatives used to play WoT like 5 to 8 years ago. He even had those cheats, like the Lazer pointer showing how enemy tanks aim and the effective penetration indicator with percent: I didn't even know that they had that in the base game lmao

Less damage just means the tanks that get nerfed by it. Just need a buff in another state to keep them visible. T69 increase the standard round pen for some other tanks, maybe increase spotting rang.

About maps: I feel like a few years ago when everyone complained Wargaming was just doing corridor maps, games were decided as soon as one of the corridors had been broken and the winning people from there surrounded the other corridors. Nowadays I feel like the pushing sides are death traps. Time and time again one side wins the engagement and then continues to push forward, just to be shot to pieces from a campy hill or bush location. Basically what I see most experienced people do is once they've won one flank they turn around to help the other side or base defense. Only the foolish players keep going and that creates those countless games where the main engagement was won and then a turnaround into a loss happened.

Meanwhile me a warthunder player: "You can survive shots in this game?"

Still have 14,000 gold on WOT for 5 hears now. They won't let me switch it to world of ships. So it just sits there since i stopped playing. I fear ships is going in a similar direction as well.

11:07. Not how upload speed works. I know this is a multi year old video but this is a hilarious aspect of internet understanding that I see everywhere and it would be great if it were dispelled. Unless you are on a dial up connection, your upload and download is the last thing to effect games like this. Their packets are all data and tend to be extremely small. You are not getting anywhere near the upload or download rates normally attributed to say uploading an image to Facebook or downloading a game from Steam. In this case it would be entirely ping related. Things happen quickly and ironically physics is slow when we talk about the connections to servers 1/5th to 1/2 the way around the world. This is why you have issues where in FPS games you get hit even though you are around a wall already. in a 10th of a second can be a lot in these and can dictate games in some rare cases. I guarantee what you saw there is a ping related (either bug or predictive hit) instance and has absolutely nothing to do with upload or download speeds unless something else was either going wrong, or like I said earlier... You are running a dial up connection. Long story short, if you have more than 64 kb/s upload you should be perfectly fine and I don't know a single person with less than 1mb/s and I live in rural Canada. In fact a fast dial up connection should technically have more than enough bandwidth to send you packet without much issue and should still allow most games to work. It would ironically still be a ping issue but dial up connections would also have a much higher latency.

Man, you are speaking the truth. The greediness of this company ruined my childhood games, World of Tanks and now World of Warships. Wargaming doesn't care about the player, they care about the money they generate. The game is ruined and unplayable because of their gold ammo and gold tank. Heck, now all the mechanic and ecosystem of the game are based on premium ammo. I'm sadly glad that I'm not the only one frustrated and disappointed by them. I've played WoT since it came out in Europe around 2011, and it's been 5 years I've quitted the game and I won't play anymore to any game from this garbage franchise which only care about money now.

I learned to play this game when my poor Pz4 was matched against IS4s, was a suffering, but learned a lot of weak spots and how to exploit them, learned how to take advantage of the armor on my E75 and KV4 and win matches against higher tier tanks, but since the game turned into who spams prem ammo first i retired of the game forever, despite having ten of millions of credits and gold, i felt using that ammo was unfair to anyone, almost like cheating

I quit og WoT more than few years ago. To me arty and new wheeled vehicles ruined this game especially since i loved playing heavy td's. Blood pressure kept rising so switched to wt and blitz for event battles only and i enjoyed them much more rn.

I have bad internet and if I try to shoot at a tank it's 99% of the time a miss because I see the tank in the middle of a field but he's actually behind a rock nearby.

I think I jumped the wot ship when WT introduced ground forces. Especially with being able to knock out people in one shot, and the fact that even lower tier vehicles still have a fighting chance because chances to cause spalling/over pressure against a higher BR vehicle. Learning weak spots was and is still important but situational awareness and being the first to fire means more and idiot higher tiers can’t just fall back on their better armor and larger hp pool. Also had a shitty 2005 giant dell laptop that gave 10 FPS and 100-300 ping depending so it often ended in me getting killed as soon as I ended up in a fight and that action caused lag. So I have a shit w/d % of 46-48%.

I used to play this a lot and have over 15k battles in total. I thought WT was lame and bounced off one short try of it. Recently, I gave it a shot again and I can't believe how much better it is than WoT. WoT is gross to me right now. So much wasted time...

to be fair, premium ammo is on some tanks APCR which irl is known to do a lot less damage then full caliber rounds like ap and aphe
