This set is crazy for players, it's coming out right before worlds with a lot of viable cards that's shaking up the metagame in Japan rn

The best cards are the kingdra and Grenija promos so I would buy the collection boxes but not opening many packs.

This set was a mistake. They should have just combined it with the September set and made it a regular set. Both sets are going to be really small and underwhelming as a result.

The *theme* is a cool idea, but the execution and the artwork is very lacklustre.

This will be the Pokemon Go of the Scarlet & Violet era😂

Personally, I think it's a fun small set for casual collectors. Sometimes, its overwhelming to complete these massive sets. The arts in this set are super cool, and the set follows a very cool theme. I like it.

They drop the ball by making the 2 best cards promos

The SIRs are a bit lackluster but the IRs look great again. The set will be fine. The Greninja, Kingdra and Kinggambit cards look awesome

I love the Loyal Three and Pecharunt, plus Cassiopeia is a nice card! Can’t wait for this set I also love the illustration rares and how small it is! The cresscelia is so cool!

I haven't collected anything since 151 but I'm staying tuned to these Rocket / Eevee sets in the future.

I'll buy a couple of the greninja and kingdra boxes to keep sealed. They'll be a nice long term hold. I might open one of each with the best looking promos to grade.

That greninja promo imo is infinitely better looking than the TM greninja. The Kingdra is insanely good looking.

I only pre ordered a PCE ETB for my sealed collection, that’s as far as I’m going to go. There’s nothing I really want to chase in this set, which I’m fine with. Gives me more funds to put towards sets I do enjoy

Says that Illustration Rares can’t carry a set. But 3 of the Top 5 cards in Paldea Evolved value wise is IR and the top card over 100$ is an IR. So yea they def can. No to mention Groudon IR as well.

At first I was into this set because I liked the art cards, but now I’m really into this set because for the first time since I started collecting again a year ago I actually want to try making a deck and play the game. Also, lots of people stalking about Greninja and Kingdra, those aren’t even in the Japanese set and were made specifically as English promos.

It’s criminal that they made the Greninja and Kingdra promos. Whoever is making those decisions at Pokemon has rocks in their heads. Literally killed any chase for the consumer (and with it, any desire for more product being bought) by removing the 2 best cards

I've purchased both the Japanese booster box and English kingdra ex set, actually when I look back at it now I think it was a mistake, I'll open the kingdra ex box just for the card itself but I think I'll just resell the japanese box. Looking forward to stellar crown etb tho as I want that rainbow lapras in my collection

I don’t think they “messed up” on this set or it is a “mistake”, this is a good collector item in the short and long term especially the Kingdra and Greninja boxes which I hope they print enough as those are the best cards in the set. Not every set should have a Charizard or other nostalgic Pokemon, the Pokemon art in here is good. I love this set for it’s potential affordability. You’d be mad at this if you’re an “investor” though in which case, womp womp.

Honestly I love smaller sets. I never pull SIRs anyway and the IRs in this set are truly amazing. You don't have to open 30+ packs every set. Sometimes a set is just for opening a few packs to see what you get. I'll definitely be getting both the Kingdra and Greninja boxes 'cause at least I'll be getting an awesome card in each.

Yeah nah, this set is geared towards players, not collectors, my man. There's some real meta-shifting cards in here that are going to be huge - in contrast, the "collectible" cards are very much few and far between.

as always ima wait till every card gets announced before i cancel my pc pre orders but i do agree with you that as of now the only desirable cards in the set are the promos and the ars. scarlet and violet has had a repeated issue of making better ars than sars and this set is a prime example of that.

It's definitely a set that exists solely to get the cards out on time to literally become legal Day 1 of Worlds with how cards like the Dusclops/Dusknoir elevates Charizard immensely or how Fezendipity is a reprint of Oricorio GX

I'm also not super excited about this set. I'll likely get 1 ETB, and then save my Poke Dollars for some of the more exciting sets that have already been announced moving forwards.

I do like the houndoom IR but outside of that in the mainset not promos it's not great.

As a japanese collector Night Wanderer it's probably one of the worst sets I've seen in a while then again who cares, there are still 12 beautiful ARs waiting to be put in my binder, even in a set as disappointing as this one I'm still looking forward to something and with all the absolute bangers waiting for us this year and in January I really can't complaint at all xV

As someone who collects/plays yugioh, the new SIRs are tame in comparison to the Starlight and 25th Quarter Century Rares. 😂 I'll probably just buy the Cassiopeia as it's my only chase card.

For once we got some amazing cards that Japan doesnt get. Kingdra & Greninja all the way EZZZZ. The sparkle is what helps with the EDO vibes. See it as grain

I agree that the SIRs for this set but ALSO Twilight Masquerade have been dull. Perrin and Carmine do absolutely zero for me, we need to get back to amazing pokemon SIRs as I am so sick of medium-close-up trainer with a dull background, it's been done to exhaustion. I'm not even excited about the terestal pokemon sets coming out. Big hats and crystals. Nah.
